but wasn't it said in there that Vader was the way he was due to a fight he had with the emperor?
well i just don't seem to understand what you're trying to say.

Can't say that I remember anything about Anakin getting his wounds from a fight with Sidious.

I always thought he got his injuries from a space fighter accident.

It's been a while since I saw 4,5 and 6 though, so I can't really remember everything that was said during them.

like this:

I think I remember hearing that the reason Vader has to live on life support and the reasons he's lost arms and legs and whatnot, was a fight he had with the emperor after which he gave in to him.

however in this part we see him have a fight with Obi and that being the reason for his situation.

that's actually what I mean. hope it makes more sense now smile.gif

I see now. But nope never heard of anything like that. I always thought he had all his limbs under that suit of his... It was new to me when he got his arm and boths legs cut off.

In an ancient interview dated more than 20 years, Lucas claimed that Anakin's body was destroyed after the fight with Obi-Wan. Apparently, he had "fallen into a volcano".

In the initial Episode 3 script, from 1983, Anakin once again fights Obi-Wan, and his body is destroyed.

Haven't got a clue where you got that from. wink.gif

I never knew Vader was even in need of life support. I thought he just like looking stylish.

(I'm watching ep. 6 right now. nothing was said about a fight between Vader and the emperor. Never remember anything being said about it, quite frankly.)

Another plot hole was when luke was talking to leia asking if she remembered their mother, an leia responded she always seemed sad. The way it was done, Leia was referring to real memories, not visions, and if they were visions they would have amde that clear.

Also, darth vader was the chosen one. balance to the force does not mean destruction of the dark-side, it means balance. In the end of his life, the force was balanced. Only one guy, not encessarily good nor evil, with little knowledge of the philosophy of the force, knew how to wield it, and started a new school. Everything about the force and study of it completely restarted, for that galaxy anyway.

I would of never thought of it that way doomed... That makes perfect sense, but its kinda ironic for the jedi..

By the end of Episode 3 it was blanaced.

Two Light siders (Yoda and Obi-wan)

Two Dark siders (Darth Vader and Darth Sidious)

Balance.

I liked this movie, it was awesome, definately makes up for the other two prequels.

I liked the irony of how Anakin's turning to the darkside to try and save Padme from dieing in childbirth caused her to die in childbirth.

Though, really, do not make Vader go "NOOOOOOO!" in a Vader-suit.

It just is...wrong....

remidns me of a short story I wrote about a guy who forsaw his own death of being killed by a giant underwater fish. great, he knew he was invincible, and how to protect himself from death. Problem is, he had no way of telling the age of himself, so he was jsut compeltely frightened of water from then on. Eventually he gets kidnapped and dumped in the water and caught in some sea-weed. He saw the giant sea creature moving in and struggled to free himself, panicking, losing oxygen. The sea creature approach and looked like it was trying to free him from the sea-weed, but because he was so frightened he ended up fending it off with a knife and stabbing it, so it turned on him and bit him in half. Screwing with the irony of predicting the future is always fun.

By the way, the force was balanced after anakin died. Just because there are two on two doesn't make it balanced. The emperor had enormous power over the entire republic, and yoda was forced to stay in hiding. That's not balance. The balance is that Luke Skywalker would begin a new jedi academy and restart the cycle.

thats what I think.

I kind-of liked Obi's final spaech to Anikin for some reason, it was almost pathetic in a way. i don't know.
You were the chosen one!You were suppose to destroy the sith, not join them! *cue walk off and sobbing*
Very disappointed in the movie. Hated it. :paperbag2:

I loved it, even though I knew what would happen, since I saw 4, 5, and 6. I felt really sad when Anakin killed the younglins...

I can't wait until the entire series comes out in one huge DVD pack.

lol my mom will kill my dad when that happens because he already bought the origianal 4,5, and 6 video box set; the revised 4,5, and 6 video box set; and the 4,5, and 6 dvd box set. so when the 1-6 DVD box set comes out I will be able to laugh at my dad getting yelled at. smile.gif

The 4-6 version with hayden christiansen as the ghost of anakin is a joke though.

Was he supposed to act that horrible in the movie? He really sounded whiny all the time.

BTW I think they should of let the little kid from the first movie grow up and become Anikan... tongue.gif
DoomedOne
It was basically his acting, as well as almost no plot and no scene progression that ruined the first movie. Any scene he was in was basically bad. Escapecially that crap with him "stumbling" into the space ship and "accidentally" completely ending the battle of naboo. God that movie pissed me off.

I saw the movie yesterday and I must say I have very mixed feelings about it. Effects were (as expected) awesome but the story, dialogues and the acting at times were really disappointing (which was somehow expected, too). The german version somehow suffered from the rather average voice-actor of Anakin (his voice is annoying me Since Episode II), I wish they could have someone better.
In the end it seemed like they were really in a hurry to explain the events happening in episode 4 - 6, Lucas could have invested a little more time there.

and yes...
Though, really, do not make Vader go "NOOOOOOO!" in a Vader-suit.
I agree.... it looked, well, a little silly I have to admit.... That simply didn't fit to the Darth Vader we see in episode 4-6...

Conclusion: Not a bad movie, definitely better than Episode II but it had, in my opinion, a lot of flaws.
