Wow.. You just done in 1 hour what I've tried to do in nearly 9 years...
Find out why women act like that...
Whats the solution then? I mean, sometimes it just seems that I never get through no matter how wonderful I try to act...
It doesn't make sence, does it?Well woman in general don't make much sence. We guys are a lot more simple. All we want is to watch football, drink beer, having a blast, while women are intrested in something completly diffrent. That's why it's called OPOSITE SEX

EDIT:I'm kidding (about guys being more simple).
QUOTE(Kayla @ Apr 28 2006, 02:55 AM)
I really don't know what I can tell you. It's more or less the woman's problem. It is best to try and explain to them that you do try, and that it is unfair of them to expect things from you.
Well my experience tells me that would be a mistake.Opening your heart to them while still early can have serius consequances(sp?).He is more asking how to saduce a woman i think. My post above reflects my opinion, but using a word ''cattle'' was really harsh (my english is limitating).I was thinking more like taking a ''macho'' attitude, not showing any weaknesses at all, always tough, always yourself(Not what she wants you to be),always firm.At least that's what worked for me over the years.
QUOTE(Ibis @ Apr 28 2006, 08:16 AM)
The way to get and keep a woman's interest is what yer mom told ya - be yourself. Don't apologize one bit for being who you are. If she don't like it, she is just not the woman for you - she's free to look elsewhere. That's the attitude to take.
Really, if she doesn't like you for yourself, there will be nothing but trouble as things develop. You shouldn't have to change, she shouldn't have to change - - if the chemistry isn't right, it just ain't gonna be.
As far as choices, give her one chance to choose ... none of this I can't make my mind up, do such n such to convince me, blah blah, etc. Take me or leave me, ya know? It could be rough on you too if you really like a girl alot - but just take it like a man, don't beg, and she'll be fascinated most likely after that, even if she starts out rejecting you.
I've been married 29 years this

June, so Cain and I know a bit about love and accomodating each other in life.
I agree, that's a good opinion.Don't apologise for who you are (because you already know that you're a cool guy

j\k),get a firm stance, and ALWAYS,ALWAY be confident whatever you do.I also make sure that she knows my intentions, just to make sure she doesn't think i want to be her friend,i want to be her boyfriend.
That's what worked for me in my homeland,i will see how it works on Dutch girls yet

I think it's really funny that when I said 'evil, insidious, devious and foul' everyone automatically assumed I was talking about women. Maybe if I was talking about men it would have been 'stupid, scratch-loving, lazy and uncaring'. Anyway, I didn't actually say which sex I was making comments on.
Though women do go with the 'spend your money' bit a lot more than men.
As for children? Why do I hate them? Apart from the fact that they're rude, disease ridden, unable to control body functions, attention-seeking, noisy, messy, expensive (when you have one you're signing up to 18 years of food, clothes, entertainment and rubbish holiday bills), they break things, they 'fix' things, they don't appreciate their parents, quite often they hate their parents, they cause their parents heartache and worry, they systematically destroy any hobby you have, they can be random and violent, their friends are all incredibly annoying, they hog the computer, they require constant attention, for the first bit you need to wait on them, for the first bit you need to wipe their backside, they insist on watching The Cartoon Network, you can't watch good adult movies in the middle of the day (and I don't mean porn, I mean... Aliens, sometimes I just want to watch Aliens in the afternoon), they demand you get a pet, even if you're allergic to it, you're expected to fufil meaningless obligations to their school, they override any previous social commitment, they are irritating in a car, they often stare at you squiffy, you're never out of the emergency ward, you're worried about their future, you find yourself with no future because you're worried about theirs, your savings dissapear because of their future, you have to suffer the dreaded 'hormonal' period of their lives, and they smell?
I've got a few reasons but I don't want to bore you by listing them.

I mane cammon':You were a kid once!
You hate kids because they're ignorant?Because they have more to learn, becaue they are.....err noughty?Wow man, there is much more to it than that. They are.....well kids!
I'm not a father myself, but i have a friend in my homeland (he's my age),and you should really see how happy he was when he got little Anja (common female name). He was soooooo drunk,we had to watch over him ''till morning. He says it's the best thing it's ever happend to him.And i belive his word.
You say they hate their parents? No.
They can be (i know because i was like that) that they can be demanding,arogant,unpleasant,hard-headed,but they still love their parents.Hell,i love my mother and father today. They hate you only if youtreat them to hard or too soft.
About pets:If you're alergic, simply say ''no''.His\her intrest in such a thing is only temporary. They just want to know what is the feeling of having a dog.
About not worrying about your future:When they grow up,they're not their own.Until that,it's your duty to love and care for that child. When he\she comes to 18:You don't have any right to interfier with their lives. You can live for yourself, just sometimes help them out.
There is much more to say that this,i just scrached the surface.

I find the child list quite amusing.
But I more agree with HyPNO's point ... when you have a child of your own it is probably the best thing that ever happened to you. Or at least, it should be.
I never imbibed in children, but there is one picture on my fiend's desk, of her daughter and her granddaughter. The mother is holding the little infant girl and the baby has her arms outstretched and a big smile ... probably playing some game like hide n seek. But the baby is the exact tiny replica of the mother.
I guess that would be cool ... kinda like having your own mini-me.

Nah, I find the whole idea of children nauseating. I just wished we had the technology to grow them in vats until they were 8, let them out, have them around for those that wanted them and think they're cute and all that until they're 12, then ship them off to some kind of kid-farm until they were 16.
And I said some of them hate their parents. Not all of them, but I know a lot of kids that grew up shouting "I hate you!!!" and such. I always find it funny that parents say how much they love their children and all that when you ask them, but all they ever do is complain about them. And no baby is good looking. They all look like that freaky monster that pops out of that guy's chest in Total Recall.
Anyway, that whole money trap isn't for me. Where am I going to be without the opposite sex and the burden of parenthood? Happier, healthier, and a hell of a lot wealthier.
Money may not by happiness, but money buys stuff, and stuff makes me happy. I'd rather have a holiday where I dangle off suspension bridges screaming, or go climbing up the Machu Pichu trail, than having to settle for a sea side resort with balloons, donkey rides and flumes because I've got midget baggage in the shape of two unimpressed kids.

Thank you very much for caring, Ibis, and the story was very helpful and inspiring

. Things are going so-so. Not only was I kicked out of my friend Kevin's house, but he was too. Not only that but his friend Amanda got dumped by her boyfriend and now lives with us. This adds 2 to the total people making the sum of my group 4. My Cousin (John), Kevin, Amanda, and me. Not only this, but we're being kicked out of where we are staying now in a few days.
Still, things are not so bad. Amanada has an apartment on hold, but she has to hold a job for two weeks before she may move into it. She already has a job, but it's in another city, so we're moving... again. We'll camp outside for the two weeks and then move into the apartment when we can. Meanwhile the rest of us will be searching for jobs.
I'm not crazy about sleeping outside for so long, but I'll do what I have to do. Things are definently looking up though, with the gaining of a home and all. It's only a studio apartment, but at least it's somewhere to stay. Unfortunatly, Kevin was the only one with a computer (or at least one with the internet) so I won't be on very often. Still, when I can be on all give you updates on my condition, if you're interested.
I just got food stamps today, so eating isn't a problem anymore. As I figure, I'll be living off of top-ramen and microwave pizzas for the next few months/years. It's a good thing I grew up on that food

I get about $150 worth of food every month, as does my cousin, and so will Kevin soon. Amanda get's about $110.
I have a good feeling about everything, I know it will turn out for the best. I'm not so sure about school, but at least I'm alive and that's the most I can ask for. When I'm 17 we'll be able to apply for a 3 bedroom apartment, so I have a bit of something to look forward to.

"Rugged Individualism"
Its a term coined back before/during the Great Depression by Herbert Hoover. It stated that we should be individuals and as such take care of ourselves. (Or something like that) Thusly, our government, even though we've considered Hoover evil incarnate, is still loosely following the pattern of "Rugged Individualism".
However, he can still apply for various.. err.. welfare related objects such as food stamps, but housing is not usually addressed in this instance. We tend to survive ourselves, or rely on the good will of others.
Personally Stomache Ache I'm glad for you. Your situation could be better, but it could also be worse. C'mon man, it is a little absurd to be mad at children because they're brain isn't fully developed. Also, all of the actual problems you listed with children are caused by bad parenting. You spoil the child, the child will feel entitled to more than they should. No one is born with a selfishness complex, and if they are its a serious medical condition.
Anyways, I've had a pretty good day full of fun and friends and I hope all of you can say the same. oh, and my pyromancy skills (aka my skills of burning things with barbeque lighters) caused quite a panic. I burnt some paper towel in my kitchen and for some reason it attached itself to the end of the barbeque lighter. I tried to rub and shake it off, but in the end the small amount of paper towel fell on some butter. Now I have a half melted stick of butter. Lovely

If it makes you feel better I'll say then that I hate being around children. They arn't my idea of enjoyable company. I don't blame cats for being animals; doesn't mean I want to hang around being stared at by 'em. And not all the problems I've listed are caused by bad parenting - most of them are pretty natural parts of growing up and learning, based on their needs and physiology and all that kid of stuff. Like I said, just because it's part of the natural process doesn't mean I have to like it. I could liken that to another rather foul aspect of biology for about half the population, but I'm not going to go down that route. You're right are about one thing though, there are some medical conditions which I suppose you could call a 'selfishness complex'.
I myself had a strange night. I dressed up smart with friends (posh dresses and tuxedos) and went to a Casino, thinking we were orginal. Alas, we went on James Bond theme night. Still, I made five times the money I actually bet to begin with, so I can't complain. The secret to roulette is to bet on the wide bets, and bet in multiples - say, one lot on Any Black, one on Any Odd, one on 19-36. That ways you're likely to only lose one stack or gain one stack in the odds (with an slightly more than equal chance of losing it rather than gaining it all), but you have three variables to bet on the probablities. Eh, worked for me.

Apr 29 2006, 08:01 AM
Being female I seem to have this bred-in reaction to the big-headed, large-eyed, small nosed specimens like puppies, kittens and babies ... thinking that they all are cute.
However, I don't want to hold them or have them climbing on me. I only like well-behaved children and yes, they are extremely hard to find anymore. And I blame the parents.
I remember when it was just common curtesy when a child was crying or squealing that horrible screech that only a mother can't hear - the parent would take the child out of the movies-store-church-restaurant, until the child calmed down and was quiet again. But not now - they look at you like they want to axe you in the head if you even look sideways as their brat screams its head off over the dialogue of the movie. It's the rude parents that need to be disaplined.
But enough of that - we need more children born so they will pay our social security like we paid the old people ahead of us, right President Bush? Isn't that how it works, President Bush?? President Bush! Your gonna confiscate all the social security funds and pass them out to your rich oil buddies?? Pres, what the heck do we need the kids for then? Executions all around! hehe
So I am very glad to hear that Stomach Ache is doing okay. I think your situation sounds promising. Four are better than two when it comes to trying to pull together and make it work. Shame that you all do have to sleep outside for 2 weeks, I hope you all have a tent and sleeping bags and all the neccessary gear. Or that you can trade some foodstamps somehow for at least a sleeping bag if you don't.
I think that you did the right thing if you had bad parents. A wise but probably very difficult and scary to make decision. Better to find friends who are a good influence in your life than living under the roof of bad influences. I hope you guys all get jobs and it sounds just delightful about the efficiency apartment. That is all we've lived in the past 21 years .... but really, it's great to have your own space at all, no matter what the size.
So, please do keep us informed and do be careful. You know who your friends are. There may be some people who will see your situation when you guys are camping out and they might try to ingraciate themselves to you, in order to take advantage in any variety of ways ... don't fall for that. I'm sure you know what I mean.
After you all get the apartment, maybe you could pool your money and get a computer and the internet - that'd be cool. Take care. Visit with us as often as you can. Don't forget that libraries have computers where I think people can talk on websites.

All of those attributes of the children that you've listed so far come from how they are raised. In other words, if the parent acts in a certain way, the child will. It is not the children, it is the one teaching the child: aka daddy and mommy.

First of all, the kid should never be allowed to throw a tantrum for very long (aka, slapped!)

You know, Doom is absolutely right. In fact, I think kids today are pretty much totally taught by TV. It began back in earlier generations when TV was new and mothers discovered it was a good distraction for the kiddies to watch the tube in the living room while they did the household chores.
But TV has WAY changed since back in those days ... and Doom is right. I mean, look how in about August all the channels start early with the toy commercials for Christmas. And so many of the cartoons are nothing but floss that sells the toys that are the starring characters.
Cereals are now disgustingly coated not just with sugar but industrialized syrup/preservative. The aisles in supermarkets are arranged so that the kiddie stuff is right at level of a child's head in a shopping cart or lower so they see it walking.
And now, computers are taking over the teenage scene, and cell phones. You gotta be in the in crowd and have your computer in your room where your parents can't see what you're doing with your friends online and gotta be able to IM everybody else's cell.
Where do parents stand in all this barrage? Where they want to, that's where. They either parent or they let the media do it. God help us all.

I would just like to say, that kids don't necesarily whine for what they want.At least i didn't whine when i was a kid.But again,my contry was under wars that severly cripled the economy, and people don't have much money. So i knew that my mother can't but me the toy because she doesn't want to,it's beacuse she doesn't have money. My country had some great crisis back then.....
Anyway,what i think.
Well,it's how you teach them really. If they know that they can get what they want by whining, offcourse they will whine. But if they know that method doesn't work...they will just give up.

Where do parents stand in all this barrage? Where they want to, that's where. They either parent or they let the media do it. God help us all.
Help yourself!

Anyway, speaking of advertizing, did anyone notice that we have a new ad on the site? We had the option to choose between two new advertizers that approached us, and one wanted a text ad while the other wanted big honking flash ads - I personally hate those.
Even worse, one asked us to mix content with advertizing! Write a "review" about their products!
Do you hate annoying web ads too? Big flashy stuff that distracts from the content and ads that are not clearly recognizable as such?

The ad is up there, right under the header with Bill & Bob. That tiny text ad.
And the money will be spent on running the server (just one!) as it is right now. Don't believe for one second we're making any profit with it

Anyway, back on topic, yeah. I forgot about popups because I haven't had any in ages, thanks to Mozilla's blocker and a very extensive Adblock configuration

That's great!
I'm glad to hear that.
I hope that flood control will be regulated in the near future.....That message can really be anoying

.I wish you(and the whole Chorrol.com team) to make more ads,and invest the money in Chorrol.com
Oh BTW i just spoted the ad.It kind of blends in the background (which suits me just fine)

I'm ok with ads if that's what it takes to keep great free sites like this one running.
I frequented a flight sim site some time ago where users could make a small donation to avoid the ads. Those who didn't donate still had a random ad banner (but only one) on top of every page. That worked too...

The only one I use and care about (I tried out a lot) is the Adblock plugin. Lets you blot out entire address ranges using wildcards so you don't get ads from them. You have a little button at the bottom right of your browser window that opens a list of files that are part of the current page, and you can just click on the ones you never want to see again, and you won't. It's nice. And of course there's 'Adblock this picture/iframe/whatever'...

THankfully i managed to salvage the important ones, like my webcomics and forums and stuff, but it's really annoying because i know i put stuff in my favourites for a reason, and now they're gone..all gone...blasted computer!

Damn talk about a rough day....
Today was the first day of end of year exams and crap. I was sure I would flunk the math portion, but was puzzled at how easy it was.
AND
I have been informed of my girl moving... Supposedly about an hour away...
It really sucks.
