When you try to learn about the chemicals under the sink and what chems you can mix together by drinking them.
metalskull
When you wear a Halloween robe, strap a broom to your back, and wake up your parents at 2 in the morning and tell them you are going Dremora Hunting.

For some reason Im on a forced week long break from Oblivion...

Wonder why? wacko.gif
Foster
When someone asks you why you did something, and you reply (in your best Emperor from Star Wars voice) "It is the will...of Sithis."

QUOTE(xycolian @ Apr 21 2006, 07:44 AM)

you skip school or work to play it

you think about what to do next with your character at work or school if you decided to go to work or school in the first place tongue.gif

Done a few of those
Ibis
When you see a cat out on the street and start to call "Here Khajiity Khajiity ..." but then you mistake its purring to be a growling call to arms.
mritchey
When you are driving down the road and see an old woman wearing a long coat and rain hat and your first thought is that she is a necromancer.
damncrackers
Your neighbor tells you they have expensive items in a case in their house and you think about when they will be asleep or not home so you can go in and steal it.
Khajiit Overlord Rainer
When you see a drug dealer and ask if they have any Skooma.

(this is a Morrowind one) When you go to work and Challenge your boss for his rank biggrin.gif
Aki
....When you wake and wonder why the hell your face changed from the one you made in Chargen. tongue.gif

....When you realize upon further inspection, you seem to have become one of the human races instead of a elf or beast race!

....When you wonder what happened to your six-pack ( tongue.gif )

....When you take off your clothes and think you must've forgotten about installing a nude mod. laugh.gif

....When you are told to go get something and wonder where your quest compass went

....When you try to check your journal to remeber what you were doing

....When you wonder what kind of soul value you could get from your pets...

....When you try to cast a healing spell after injuring yourself.

....When you worship one of the Gods in TES rather than a Real life Deity. laugh.gif

You know youve played too much oblivion when you walk into someones house and wait for the interior to load biggrin.gif
ThePerson98
You know you've played to much oblivion when you run from lizards.

HyPN0
When you start talking like RAI laugh.gif

A: Hi,Mate!
B: Is that so?
A: What?
B: I run in some mudcrabs a while ago.
A: Huh?What mucrabs? We don't have any mudcrabs in the city.
B: Is that so?
A: Mate,are you alright?
B: Get outa my face!

Yeah,i'm mocking RAI laugh.gif
Ibis
You know you've played too much Oblivion when you start chanting while mixing iced Chai tea and grape juice together in hopes of creating an "Awake-All-Night Power Spell."

And then you drink it & it works! purplewizardsmile.gif
DarkHunter
AAAAAAAAAAHHH! thats just creepy Ibis... never tell me anything again... unless it something like: you just won 20$. smile.gif Just kidding smile.gif
Joryn
You know you have played too much Oblivion when your xbox 360 overheats and powers down causing you to try and cast a fireball at it screaming "whats the matter, is the baby gonna cry?!!!".
Taillus
When you decide to "sneak" around downtown in a black hoodie waiting to see if an eye will appear to let you know if someone knows you're there. biggrin.gif
Ibis
Okaaaay ... (DarkHunter, don't read this)

This is a stern warning to everyone NOT to try my "Awake-All-Night Power Spell" recipe ..... it causes hives. Either that, or attracts spiders - cause I got itchy as all git'out after I drank it and then got a welt on my arm & stomach.

Such is the life of a striving alchemist!!! evillol.sml.gif

Foster
I can't believe this, but I've actually started talking to the screen.

"How are you?" says the guard.
"Fine. You know, same old." I reply. In a really bad, IC character voice that sounds like a constipated wombat wearing a girdle. And you don't want to know how I know what that sounds like.
DoomedOne
On the contrary, I'm quite curious, tell us Foster.

I know I've played too much oblivion because my counter hit 150:00:00 the other day O.O... and I haven't even beat the main quest yet.
Oblivion_Eric
when you wake up to go to school but youre only gotten 2 hours of sleep and think i'll just reload...

when you get up from having played for 13 hours straight and pick up a bad of chips but they rip when you try to open them and you immiediatly think RELOAD...

when you thinks you can kill somone and get out of trouble as long as they punched you first...

your try to summon a dremora or cast invisibility but blame it on your low magica when you're unable to..
Ibis
When you go into Walmart and wonder why you can't find the armor department without asking a salesperson, because you want to buy a nice set of full glass armor. biggrin.gif
Neela
Okay... I have got to know... and this seems like the thread to put it in..

Am I the only one who dodges incoming spells and arrows? Like when the NPC fires at you and your body just seems to reactively move to the side and your head ducks as if the thing is going to fly out of your monitor?

I also find myself trying to peer around corners by moving my head.

I do this in alot of games though.
iceman666
when oblivion becomes a apart of your dreams...and you start avoiding the sunlight!!

I do this too... biggrin.gif I don't dodge spells though.. yet. Maybe I should crank up the difficulty slider so that I become more afraid of spells.
Fethenwen
OMG! You guys are hilarious tongue.gif

I noticed something today when I was walking in the city, and I saw my reflection in a window... I think I'm starting to walk in the same way as my Oblivion character.
I think I should seriously consider having a few days break from that game... emot-ninja1.gif
wasahbe
When you get off work eager to get home...

... to your house in Anvil.

blink.gif
Elendil
...when you're watching Paul Junior on American Choppers with a sledgehammer and thinks "-Was that a Glass Hammer"...?

Did it yesterday...
iceman666
when you start tellin your friends wot you did last nite in Oblivion as if it really happened in real life, and them standing there lookin at you as if you had 10 heads!!
Ibis
Hahahah ... Foster ... hahahah!!!

My hubby Cain _ CONSTANTLY_ talks to his monitor. In many games he plays, but especially to the guards in Oblivion. And I can tell he is playing Oblivion just by the gruff tone of voice he addresses them in.
He also has ventrilo that he talks to his buddies online in alot of games with. Sooo, I never know if he's talking to .... the game, the guys on ventrilo, or me ... unless it's like "more ice tea here, if ya don't mind!" That's to me.
"More matze and make it quick, my good man." That's to Morrowind.
"More healing please, I took a power hit from that Mage behind the tree." That's to the buds on ventrilo.

tee hee hee

Hubbies are such complex creatures .... NOT!!
Furious_George
When BOTH your children (in my case, 6 & 3) can impeccably imitate the walk, fighting stance, and typical phrases of the game. My son is now constantly walking around the house doing that 360 slash move of my expert swordsman!
Ibis
Furious_George, that is just too adorable! I love it. Morrowind/Oblivion children...the next generation.

I can tell I've played too much Oblivion when I go out wearing my hair in Elf braids and then see my reflection in a store window and wonder why my ear points aren't showing??? lol

Lol. I just saw that last night on that show about Chris Rock's childhood. His childhood buddy dressed up as Son of Spock and went to school with pointy ears, much to the chagrin of Chris Rock.

I tried to *silence* my boss (USAF squadron commander) when she surprised me in my office. (Seriously, I made the hand gesture and everything. She looked at me kinda funny).

Dude...don't try that if you get into combat action. laugh.gif
The Ascendant
When you find yourself wondering why all the history books go on about this thing called "World War I" or "World War II"

When you wonder where the background music is whilst you're walking along.

When you pull out a map and try to fast travel to work/school.

You wonder why the world map doesn't have any of the cities from Oblivion on it... or the provinces for that matter. What is this "England" place?

Played Oblivion? I'm sorry, but I have no clue why you seem to think my life is a game.
Ibis
The Ascendant ... how funny! Didn't realize before where Bethesda games were based from ... YOUR LIFE!

Furious_George, I'm a USAF veteran and believe me, you can go on making those hand gestures and people will sometimes let you get ahead of them in line at the V.A. Clinic ... guess they don't want a 'crazy' person at their back. lol
=============================

I definitely know I've played too much Oblivion when I unlock the huge back storeroom at work and mistake it for a dark dungeon .... and start putting my arms up to ward off the liches, skeletons and goblins that are SURE to come surging out at me and catch me all unawares and unarmed.
I'd left my wizard staff back at my desk, leaning against the file cabinet.

hahahah!!!
Taillus
When you constantly look behind your shoulder afraid that you will suddenly find a mountain lion nipping at your ankles.

When you start carrying a *insert vegetable of choice* on you at all times in case you need to set off a trap.

When you start thinking to hold "R" so you can swing the camera around on yourself and check if your hair looks alright...

**BTW where is everyone getting those Chorrol.com banners with their names on them? I want one too! sad.gif

I remember I was kind of tired once after playing MW straight for many many ours. I go into the kitchen to get a glass of water so I go to pick up the glass by pressing spacebar but to my dismay the spacebar wasn't working wacko.gif Took me a couple of seconds to work out reality doesn't have a spacebar.

You eagerally face any challange knowing that you can always load if you mess it up.
Olav
... you spend most of the day at work absorbing this forum.
Furious_George
Ascendant - good ones!

PM Fuzzy Knight. He makes those Chorrol.com logos for everyone.
But make sure you ask him nicely laugh.gif
Ibis
Yes and bribe him with some fuzzy weapons and he will be more than glad to make you one. biggrin.gif
The Ascendant
Ibis, they didn't even pay me for the rights to use my life and they've made loads of money for it... if only I'd had the imagination to realise that people would like playing my life as a game. I could've gotten out of these rotten Daedra killing jobs years ago. *Flails wildly at a Daedra* Must be off.
Ibis
Something tells me, The Ascendant, that it was a plot of Sotha Sil's and Almalexia's to take all the glory that was yours and turn it into their own profit!!

Yes, and now they won't even let you make a simple mod from your own life without saying that they own all the rights to it ... terrible!

evillol.sml.gif
crazzie88
I dream in Oblivion ,now. I am given tasks to complete etc. I have got to level 20 for the second time after starting again. I love this game.
Konji
You dream in Oblivion? If you mean the drea world yes that is a good quest - but otherwise you would need mods. wink.gif
Ibis
I started dreaming Morrowind dreams whilst playing Morrowind. So far, I haven't had any Oblivion dreams but still some Morrowind ones pop up now and then. My best MW dream was me, all dressed up in a sharp business suit and high heels with a briefcase, sitting down at the bottom of this huge office building where I apparently had a job interview in a few minutes. The building was alabaster white and built on tiers of steps with water fountains running down on both sides - very huge. you guessed it ... I was sitting at the bottom of the palace in Vivec. What my job was to be I don't know but I seemed ready for it.

When I woke up I told my hubby and he was jealous that I should have a job in Vivec. lolol

===================

As for playing too much Oblivion, you know you've played for too long when you are on a bus ride and you start looking around at the other passengers and start mentally picturing how you would fix up their faces with the slider bars of the Char/Face/Gen tool. hahaha!
Kayla
When you walk up to people and greet them by saying, "Well met!", or "What Khajiit do for you?". kvright.gif
deemu
then ive played way to much oblivion then wacko.gif
Abu the Cat
Well, it's resurrected anyway.

You know you've played to much Oblivion when you start calling the shrimp in your PE class a Wood Elf.

Or when you start calling somebody a Dunmer when they're pissed off at you.

Or when you go to school with a hood on saying you're a Battlemage (with a wooded pole in a makeshift sheath!), but then being forced to take them off.

When you start saying, "For the empire!" and trying to draw your sword when someone gets you pissed off.

I can go on for ever!
