i am still going to play morrowind even with oblivion. i still haven't even beat the main quest so i intend to do that one day
xycolian
your poll is jacked up I think.
Duncan Frost
Ye, you didn't do it correctly, you're supposed to put one on each line, not all on the same line.

And NO, I'm not going to play it. It would just seem so... UTTERLY UTTERLY CRAP.
Yes.
Deathbane27
Heh.

No. I've played Morrowind to death. There's probably 5 more quests out there but they're not worth finding. I've wandered the land with a dozen characters, seen it all, done it all. Twice.
Tellie
There is aleredy a post for this, so I dont see the point in creating a new one....and for the record...yes I love MW, and will continue and play it.
Curly_G_
I've sold my copy... *shrugs*
sins_to_dark
I've played Morrowind to death it is one of my favourite games but when I get Oblivion why would i want to go back in time to Morrowind, it would seem so boring compared to Oblivion but as i said that wont stop Morrowind being one of my favourite games.

Since I had Orginal Morrowind and the GOTY edition I will probally keep the GOTY edition but ive given my orignal copy to my mate, let him get all the enjoy out of morrowind that i have experianced smile.gif
Storander
I will never play Morrowind again, likely. Morrowind will seem empty and lifeless compared to Oblivion. Already does, with Oblivion so close.

But the other day I was thinking about how I have been playing Morrowind since it came out, everyday, and I'm really attached to my old main characters. I guess I roleplayed them too good wink.gif .
So I've decided as practice for modding with the new AI, I'm making my old characters NPCs. smile.gif

I know, I'm crazy. blink.gif
HyPN0
I have played Morrowind for sooooooo long, and i don't intend to play it anytime soon.....

I have faith in Silgrad Tower team to make a good replica of Morrowind.....With new quests and all....Old quests tire me 'couse i've played them about a 100 times......But i still love Morrowind as a province.....It will allways be in my heart
Ereneth
I'll most likely have a bit of a wait for Oblivion.

Even after it comes out, I'll still find time for Morrowind on occasion. Heck, I have Warcraft III but still play Warcraft II sometimes. smile.gif
minque
Of course I will.....hmm doesn´t have Ob tet and then my comp would probably not even let me play it..so..... kvleft.gif
Taillus
I am having alot of problems trying to run OB so for now I have just installed as many mods as I can fit into Morrowind and have been playing that a little bit.
Zy Roder
I will, to some extent.

Playing Oblivion has evoked some nostalgia for Morrowing within me. So, more than likely, I will play it again.

Like a good fan should! I salute you.
Magefire
What Zy said. Seeing Ob in all its glory has made me nostalgic for MW again and I am going to fire up a new character and play it some more.

People who have not experienced MW don't know what they are missing!

Shame on you all who only look for glittering graphics and whatnot in RPGs nono.gif hell yeah, I will play Morrowind, and with even more enthusiasm because I only have GoTY for 5 or 6 weeks now... and I am eager to go to that Scandinavian island up there, above Vvardenfell, and tell mr. Hircine a few 'kind' words devilsmile.gif In the meantime, you should look up to this guy:

Hmm, here it comes again...the endless discussion wether Solstheim is more like Sweden or Norway....hmm, kjære nabo, vi kommer aldri til å bli enige på den der...tongue.gif Trabslation: My dear neighbour, well never be able toi agree on that...

Personally I think it's more like Norway, but well, thats me...laugh.gif

Ummm- I kind of have to, seeing as I haven't finished my story yet. And then there is the possibility of a Bloodmoon story- assuming I don't let poor old Trey go into a well-deserved retirement....

If you do choose to stop writing the story of Trey (after you finish the tribunal...and you had better finish it laugh.gif tongue.gif), you could start a new story that takes place in Cyrodiil, with Radiant AI and all it could make for an interesting story. It would be a shame to see you stop writing all together Trey. smile.gif

Myself I will likely stop playing Morrowind as much, thats if I ever get Oblivion which could be anytime from now to never, I can't be sure if I'll ever get it.

Morrowind kept me entertained for so long but I've done everything there is to do in it and the expansions several times with different characters and there is little reason for me to return to it now.

That game was a good one but I don't think things will ever amaze me like the first time I played it again, there's no way to get that feeling back when its gone. When there's nothing left to discover, there's not much to do and thats why I'll play it very little.
Zelda_Zealot
I WOULD play it again but it seems the world is against me. I can't play it on my 360, my computer crashs when ever there is two or more npcs on screen, my friends computer (Which could use tons of mods plus the FPS enhancer set to full AND the scripting enhancer.) can't even get to the main menu with one mod on... I think "they" are against me... emot-ninja1.gif
Fuzzy Knight
Nope - Haven't played Morrowind for far over a year and due to that the CD is gone to. Guess I'll be stuck only playing Oblivion sometimes inbetween..

Ok ...but don´t you think Norway and Sweden somwhat resembles each other? In some parts of northern sweden it´s rather norwegian....but that´s me! I prefer to think of Sotstheim as ......swedish with a norwegian touch! biggrin.gif

Och aye treydog! We do need a Solstheim-sequel....there are plenty of time to write an Oblivion version of dear Trey!

Of course I'll still be playing Morrowind. I've been playing Oblivion for about 2 weeks now and i already miss morrowind. sad.gif Oblivion just is missing something that i can't describe that morrowind had. I just don't know what.

half naked caisus waiting for you in his house.
Agent Griff
Oh yeah, that's a good one. How could I have missed that?
sins_to_dark
Aye, i wont deny there are parts of morrowind I miss, armour under robes etc but the thing i will always miss from MW is how amazed and immersied in the world of MW i was from the moment i awoke on that boat talking to my good old pal Jiub, i will miss the excitement i had when walking to Balmora, a feeling that i wont have again cause i didnt know what to expect on MW but i had expectations for Oblivion smile.gif But Oblivion does RULE
Ibis
I still have Arena and Daggerfall on the w98 part of my hard drive and have added Morrowind over there to make a lot of modding room for Oblivion on the w2k side. I haven't played the older 2 for awhile, but I definitely am still modding for Morrowind and I think I will play it some too.

Especially since Oblivion is lagging out for me until I get an new video card.
evil_ducky
Despite the total awesomeness of oblivion it seems in morrowind there is more to do, at least with the game of the year edition. Morrowind is still gonna be one of my most played games, although i will play oblivion more. biggrin.gif
Olav
I'll probably continue playing Morrowind. I started a new game (which was only my second) a few weeks before Oblivion came out.

Also, I got the upgrades Bloodmoon and Tribunal a short time before I got saturated (or tired) of Morrowind a few years ago, so there is much I haven't done yet.

And now after playing Oblivion almsot constantly for a few weeks I also feel that Obivion is missing something (besides half naked skooma-heads). The atmosphere was somewhat better and more mysterious, I think. For example when I approached the Red Mountain for the first time I was in awe.

And I haven't tried a single mod for Morrowind, so I guess I have something to look forward to there as well.

Finally, now that I've read about half of the history book that came with the collector's edition of Oblivion I really feel like experiencing Morrowind/Vardenfell again and its people again.

Wow Olav ... you're a virgin! modwise, I mean. tongue.gif hehehe Wow, you've got some fantastic things ahead if you are going to be trying some of the MW mods. I hope you can still find the good ones.
Ramirez
I would think that once I own Oblivion, I will not touch Morrowind for quite a long time. However, I can foresee myself re installing maybe a couple of years later and trying it out again.
dagoth carlos
i played oblivion for a compiled 2 days... and i worked it out of my system till the end of this year...(im going to boot camp, so dont wanna long for it in the millitary camp) but as long as im still around... im going to be playing morrowind till the end of my days..sad.gif oh whell.... i got some head mods from nettin.net(sorry, i dunno if im supposed to advertise this site, which im not...) to look forward 2
Zarrexaij
I still play Morrowind.

In fact, I play Morrowind more than Oblivion, seeing I myself do not have Oblivion, but my boyfriend does.
Tellie
I have said it before, Mw is teh best game I have ever played...sure Ilove Oblivion, bit with teh expansions, and all of the lovely mods out there, Morrowind is a faaaaar more attractive game....at least to me, so I guess I'll stop playing Oblivion before I stop Morrowind.

Well, that depends on wich parts of the Scandinavia you're talking about. But it's like the north west of Sweden, Norway and north Finland in my opinion.

//Daedroth
raggidman
heh, you forgot Iceland?

None of the mods have the best thing about Morrowind - the load/start screne theme. Do you remember how it starts with that measured drum beat - wonderful music - and a fine intro too.

Thing is that Morrowind was and is an open game. Same for Daggerfall. And Arena had that rep. By contrast (I understand) Oblivion has a closed quest structure or at least it is very controlled. That does not appeal to me in the same way.

I understand about the upgraded fight action and graphics are no doubt wonderful in some respects, but Morrowind was wonderful enough for me. Also people keep coming out with stuff about the Lore - that suggests that Oblivion does not have the same understanding of humanity that Morrowind did.

This is not to say that I am against the creation of new stuff - love it if it is special - just that I have not been bitten by the Oblivion bug as I was by Morrowind. And there is one further reason why. Where it may be great fun to play, as any console game can be, what was vital about Cyrodiil was that it is the Center of The Empire - and that means politics, industry and the metropolitan experience = sophistication. I have never read anything that indicates to me that was part of Oblivion.

By comparison Morrowind was and is politically fascinating.

I think that Morrowind is beter than Oblivion

A lost of people disagree with it being the best, as Cyrodiil (dill, whichever) was supposed to be the center of culture, the great cities. Instead we got mainly the same lore as we had from Morrowind, a lot of lip syncing, some half finished stories for various 'wierd' caves, and a few extra non-cookie cutter quests. It's not that Oblivion's bad, it just didn't live up to (everyones) expectations. Though new fans to TES seem to be just fine with it. kvleft.gif Not to say thats bad, of course, and this has just been my opinion.

Oh. And I <3 Morrowind.
Lord Revan

My main problem with morrowind was that I could never "get into it." *This is back then and right now* I'd spend time brain-storming a character, creating a custom class and then after an hour of using this player I'd get bored and scrape it. Another thing I didn't like about Morrowind was the combat system, bows were pretty useless at the beggining (which I never managed to get past without losing interest). I get that some people like the character's skills to be based on the in-game stuff than actual factors from the player (like the lock-picking game in Oblivion), but I wish that if you were point-blank with a bow on someone's sternum that it would hit 99 out of 100 times with a non-bosmeri marksman character.

Most of the lore I know about elderscrolls I've got from fan-fics and Oblivion, because I didn't complete enough of Morrowind to get anything tangible out of it. Of course Oblivion was flawed, but honestly, I didn't have any trouble going through the game. I don't need people to tell me again Oblivion's flaws, but they didn't inhibit gameplay anymore than Morrowind's.

I play on the consoles, I don't mod, nor use mods. While I've lost my Oblivion craze, I haven't gotten rid of the game nor have I deleted my character. I still play from time-to-time, and as far as my enjoyability went, Oblivion was better than Morrowind.
Now, I've never met Vivec in Morrowind, nor played the expansions, nor passed level 25 (or whatever that magic level is) and attained god-like uber-ness. But Morrowind gave me an initial interest in the franchise, Oblivion has me waiting and hoping for ES: V, hopefully solving the flaws of Oblivion while regaining the "heart-and-soul" that made Morrowind appealing to those who've come to love it.
Zalphon
In my personal opinion, Morrowind is far superior to Oblivion. But that is personal opinion, not fact.
Liam
I still play Morrowind from time to time, I sometimes prefer to it to Oblivion, but get bored of the ridiculous amounts of times my sword goes through the target and the constant having to walk to places if the Silt Strider doesn't go there. So sometimes I prefer Oblivion to Morrowind.

I play both, because I'm just cool like that. laugh.gif

wow i didnt realise how old this thread was blink.gif , im the first poster in over ay ear but i say this - i play oblivion , skyrim AND morrowind biggrin.gif
Kiln
I play Skyrim (rarely now) but have played Morrowind and Oblivion extensively to the point that literally 300+ hours have been wasted on each of them.

I loved those games and they absorbed every free moment of my time for years...especially Morrowind. It is still my favorite even though I find it hard to play because there just isn't anything left that I haven't done in it.
