I got inspiration from you guys, so thanks. Well here it is. Lemme know whatcha think.

(edited for fluidity, immersion, detail, and character touch up)

Chapter one- the begining
Part One
The Uncertainty

"Owww, my head..... dear Mephala!! What hit me?" I found myself with my face buried in a pillow on a hammock and my head was splitting in two. I can't remember what happened that was making my head hurt so bad or why I am lying down but I did know I wanted the pain to stop.

"Quiet, or the guard will hear you, he can be a mean sort." Said a gruff, deep voice. I turned my head to get a veiw of the guy and as I did so realized that I was on a boat, and that I didn't have a sea stomach as nausea overtook me and spilled my previous meal, which seemed to contain little more than a thin soup that I can't remember eating.

"Hey! Watch it!!" said the gruff voice that was now connected to a muscular dark elf with an ear ring, and scar on the right side of his face that took one eye out. He was wearing nothing but a pair of worn out, undyed, perhaps too used... pair of trousers on.

"Sorry 'bout that, I didn't see you were standing so close, good thing you were a little behind me."

"Yea good for yout health too, how are you besides being seasick?"

"My head is feels like it's going to explode, Several parts of my body feel like they have been wounded, I am still tired, and I haven't the strength to turn over to look at my body to see how bad the damage is."

"Well don't worry you'll be fine, gave that guard a mighty good fight though."

"What? Why is there a guard and just how hard did he hit me on the head, I don't even remember getting on this boat, or why I would be on one.. And why did I fight..."

"Slow down there," the man interrupted. "You are on a boat because that is where the guard put ya, the guard is here because I am a murderer and you have undoubtedly been found guilty of something...not that I am saying you did it, ... whatever it was. When the guard brought you to this boat I am guessing you knew you would get seasick or just wanted to escape and you just about did seeing as it took five guards to help the one you gave a thrashing to bring you down. I didn't see it but I heard it, and about it in good detail. I hear one had a hammer and got the back of your head when the other four were trying to get close enough to you, without getting hurt, to grapple you. I heard alot of scolding afterwards, seemed you were not supposed to be hurt getting on, that guard probably got his status revoked. As for this trip I am guessing we are about halfway there and I would suggest you go to sleep if you can't even turn over. By the way I am Jiub, we can will talk later, when you wake up, for now just rest."

And so I allowed myself to stop fighting the weary weakness that poisoned my mind and muscles and just let go...and soon I was standing in a windy foreign terrain. I had never seen anything like it before, the dirt was red and being picked up in the air, there was also another kind of dirt that seemed to be falling from the sky like a very light sprinkle in the storm of red. Before I could gather any more information about the place I heard a voice in my head of a soft but somewhat resounding tone, "They have taken you from the Imperial city's prison, first by carridge and now by boat. To the east... to Morrowind, fear not for I am watching. You have been chosen"

My shoulder was shaking, I began to wake up...to that gruff voice of Jiub's "Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? are you ok? Wake up. Stand up,... there you go. You were dreaming. What's your name? Forgot to ask before you passed out again.

"Owwwwww, I am still really sore, so take it easy on the sholder. Um, gimme a minute I just had a really weird dream.....Um .....BAH why can't I remember....I am sorry I can't remember my name right now, so just call me whatever you want."

"I think you seem like a Ganthar"

"That sounds bad lets go with Hanthimar instead."

"What do I care, it's your name."

"Fine then until I can remember my name we agree on Hanthimar"

"Ok, well, Hanthimar not even last night's storm could wake you, I heard them say we've reached Morrowind. I'm sure they'll let us go!" Jiub said hopefully. "Quiet, here comes the guard."

I could see him coming down the steps at the other end of the lower level of the boat, he looked very serious, but almost comical in that he only had one bracer on and one bracer off. His clothes were dark, but his boots and overvest were lighter. They might provide a little bit of protection...why am I thinking like that, I don't want to hurt the person who might let me go....now he was upon me and began to speak in a light, but very official, voice, "This is where you get off, come with me." I now noticed that the Imperial had some facial hair and was begining to bald, but that was at this point irrelivent. I was more worried about how I couldn't remember my own name. As the guard walked away I was caught up in my own thoughts, trying to remember something. The guard stopped and looked back threateningly.

"You better do what they say," said Jiub. So I got over my daze and followed the guard. When I got to the door in the floor of the top level a woman behind the stairs said, "The sooner you leave, the sooner we can move on." She was a ....well no better than a female dog let's say....That thought was interrupted by the gaurd from below that was escorting me,

"Get yourself up on deck and let's keep that as civil as possible." I paused for a moment to hate the woman, and the male guard gave me a small light push with a, "On deck now, prisoner" So I headed on up the stairs in front of me. I never could have guessed what I was to find at the top.

Hey....nice start we have here! It looks promising Iīd say....now a friendly comment:

Try paragraphing ..it makes the whole thing a lot more reader-friendly! Also separate a bit more when you write dialogue! So itīs easier to follow who says what!

Apart from that......go for it! continue please!

Well I wrote it in .doc format and then it had paragraphing, but when I pasted it over it must have been lost. Edit I shall, anyway thanks for the praise. I hope it only gets better for you btw, I have three more segments done, should I let some more people read the first segment before posting them and make you wait for more....or just post the writing as it is finished?

Yea everyone brings their own ideas about how to look at things and what makes this really neat is that the background is always different, the delivery is also different, I love it. Variety is the spice of life and intellectual stimulus smile.gif wink.gif

It is so interesting how so many people (including myself) can use the beginning of the game as the beginning of their fanfic but it still be so original and different. I like your character and I can't wait to read on. Congrats on having a great story in the works!

Nice start and I'd love to see more. And true, for the strict plotline of character creation, there's a hell of a lot people can do with it in their fanfics. I think that's one of these things that make Morrowind so nice. Freedom, whether it is in the game or in word.

Please post an update soon.

I am glad that I have been received so well. Thanks for all the support guys and gals. Hope I surprize you some and please you some more.

Chapter one- the begining
Part Two
The Surprize

As I walked up on deck I found myself in an unfamiliar area of coastline. There was a slight fog present as though it had been a chilly night and the morning had brought warmth with it. In the distance I saw a gigantic beetle..thing as big as a house, in fact it was right by a two story building as if to serve as a comparison. There was a hill leading up to the side of the stationary bug with legs the height of three men. directly in front of me there was a redguard that had some metal armor on, but left his legs were open to the attack of a blade...ahh there I go again..I am not supposed to be thinking like that.....to my left there was a small village with maybe a dozen houses. Further to the left I saw a lighthouse and some swamp that had trees growing out of it. "This is where they want you. Head down the dock and he'll show you to the census office, Let's go.... move it along."

At the bottom of the deck I saw the man who had walked up from the closest building, which had a barracaded route from the boat to the door he had come out of. This Imperial had much better armor than the escorts did, fully covered in metal save his joints and face....I don't think I can contain myself, as long as I don't act on these thoughts though I should be fine. Underneath the armor was a red sleeved shirt, but that was all I could see. As I stepped down from the boat I felt the pain that was left in me more accutely and almost fell of the side into the water, luckily the redguard caught my balence, "Thanks for that". He merely grunted to acknowledge he had heard. The man in front of me seemed almost as drained as I felt, although i suspected it was more related to boredom considering his job.

"You've finally arrived, but our records don't show from where, you look like you are a redguard, is that right?" He had a stong voice containing authority.

"Sure." I only halfheartedly replied as I couldn't remember for sure, but he was right, my skin said I must have some redguard blood in me....but it seemed a little light compared to the man behind me who just made sure I stayed on deck.

"Great follow me up to the office and they'll finish your release....head on in"

As I walked in the door of the building that was the census office I noticed that there was a gate to my right. Once inside I saw an old man in front of me and a well armored gaurd to my left. There were a couple tapestries of people who seemed like adventurers, (a mage, archer, and fighter to be more specific) hanging on the walls that I admired before the old man suddenly seemed to take actual notice me, instead of his paperwork in front of him, and stated, "Ahhh....yes. We've been expecting you. There are a few things that need to be done. There are a few ways we can do this and the choice is yours, my name is Socucius Ergalla, and I will be scribing the release papers that will need to be taken to the captain of the guard. I can get the information from you by asking you questions, allow you to write out the answers and then I will transcribe them to official documents, or you can just describe yourself to me, perferably with detail on personal abilities and traits."

I took the question as I didn't know how to answer anything that he wanted to know as I realized I had total amnesia, I couldn't remember anything from my entire life. No people, no events, nothing. His questions seemed rediculous, and I lied on some of them because I didn't want him to know me better than I did, maybe I was just being a little paraniod though. He told me that I would be best classified as a warrior and that meant that I was good in combat, had very high strength and endurance. I should be handy with a long blade, and running in metal armors with a sheild at my side. I should be able to use a couple other weapons as well as fix them up myself, but he didn't seem to mind, or even care for that matter, one way or another what I might be. "Very good, the letter that preceded you meantioned that you were born under a certain sign, and what would that be?

It was at this point I had to admit that I had no idea and that I wasn't really sure about anything about me. "Oh that is very unfortuante and inconveinient indeed. Well, we need to try some things out. Barry get in here." The guard from the boat came in the room, "go to the supply house and get us these things." He was already sitting at his table creating an inventory of a list. His handwritting was magnificient, I could see why he was a scribe of a good position. When he handed the list to Barry he added, "and bring Sellus Gravius if it makes you more comfortable." The list had been different kinds of things, including:

-Imperial shield, steel and studded leather armor and long and short swords
-meat some kind of egg
-an iron halberd, battle axe, hammer, 10 arrows,
-chitin clothes, and a bow enchanted by a rat
-a lot of scrolls

I felt uneasy and thought that the guard might come back with reinforcements wearing the armor, and it must have shown because as soon as Soccucius looked at me he clarified, "This is standard procedure for anyone who wants to see what they are good or talented at, I have no doubt that with your heritage you will be good at using a long blade, but I want you to use everything he brings back and we'll see what is what." So Berry came back with Sellus, who was grumbling something akin to 'second time this week', and Berry was carrying a whole load of stuff, dropped it without passing any grace of form, and turned around to go get more.

"I want you to start by just putting on each kind of armor and tell me how you feel in it, move around in each a bit and see which type you like best, perhaps I will even give you a peice or two"

"That is my men's armor! Don't you go handing it out to jail dirt like him, Socucius." Evidently Socucius didn't get along the best with the captain and I did not want any trouble with him so I stepped in and said, "I don't want any handouts, don't worry about it." This was the wrong thing to say I guess.... because it only insulted the captain, who then got irritated with me. So I kept my mouth shut and tried each type of armor without gaining any level of comfort in any of them I doubt my bruises helped, but irregardless I still didn't seem to move right in any kind of armor, not to mention they were heavy and rubbed in the wrong places. I saw Socucius scribble something down on paper with his quill after a quick dip in the inkwell.

Next thing I did was smell and look at each item of meat and plant stuffs that Barry had brought with him on the second trip. I could only tell half of what most of the things would do if I ate it, like how crab meat would both act as a pick me up and a defense against a shocking blade, but I knew I was ignorent of as much as I knew, if not more. Next I tried to manuver some weapons and see what felt right and familiar, the whole time I was trying to remember something like training sessions or fights I had been in, but nothing would come. I wasn't any good with a shield, but I was very good with the long blade, just as Socucius had predicted. I was able to use the enchanted bow a few times before the enchantment ran out, and my aim wasn't too shoddy either. I seemed familiar with the shortblade too, but to a lesser extent. I kept looking over and seeing Socucius jotting things down, the best part was when I got to hit a guard with my bare hands, I hit him square in the nose and felt something have a little crunch to it, the textile pleasure I recieved from this almost worried me. When I was done the last thing they had me do, which was try to unlock some small chests that felt empty inside, which I was not too bad at.

Finally I got to look at that paper that S. Ergalla had been writing in, it was another form that listed my abilities from best to worst and their were many close calls but it seemed, long sword was my specialty, maybe Socucius was biased, though. Followed by potion making and enchantment use, as well as dodging attacks when unweighted (the guard missed when he tried to hit me back a few times). It said that from observations that my specialty was subtlety and subertfuge, even if it was in a combative manner. My best attributes appeared to be strength and endurance, with a note of high intellect. But far above all of that, geographically and in ranking of importance, is what appeared at the top of the page on the line marked 'name'.....Hajima *o*ok*....part of the family name had been blanked out.

"What is this? Why is this family name gone? I want to know what my name is!" I was on the verge of being able to know my identity and I was excited about it, and desperate. The guards knew that much and drew their swords at my heightened voice in alarm and as a cautious warning to remind me of my position.

"The letter that perceded you was from the Emperor himself and even he does not know any more than what is on that paper, but feel free to swim back across the inner ocean and ask him....just as soon as we finish up your paperwork." My heart and head fell as I realized that it would probably be quite a while before this matter was settled, until then I would just try to remember as much I could. It was in this moment that I remembered the dream that had come to me the night before. The guards were putting their sword back in their sheaths as I asked for my papers to be stamped and completed.

"How would you describe your position and occupation then Hajima?"

"Wonderer." unsure.gif closedeyes.gif

Ahhh very good! This was much easier to read, paragraphing makes wonders! Now this story itself is getting better and better.....Itīs amazing how ppl can vary the in-game story-line into quite different stories...you never know what comes next...and yet you do know! But itīs different approaches !

good job! goodjob.gif

were you surprized by the class name? or by the new character "creation process"? I kinda liked that little twist but I think I got a little wordy and drawn out maybe. I am glad you liked it,... you never said whether I should post as much of the story as I have done or let you read a section a day...I have about three times more than i have posted here done so far...And I am still writing for at least an hour a day none stop, usually a couple hours. This story is still FAR from over too. I think you will be REALLY surprized in the middle...I am guessing it will arrive in about the 5th chapter, something await, anticipate, and to keep the reading current for...I am such a tease.
jack cloudy
Stop teasing. Nah, just kidding. I can wait. But please keep posting. I enjoyed the bit in which your character got to try everything out.

Took an extra day to edit everything just a little bit so that things move smoother, I made some changes to the first two posts so if you read them b4 this was posted you might wanna glance over it again.

Chapter one- the begining
Part 3
Initial Arrangements and Exposure.

So I had gotten off to a rough start with the guards in the excise office but I now started off as a free man, with some instructions on paper from the "Personal Secretary to the Emperor" which really means that it's from the Septim himself somewhere along the line. So I guess I had better do what I am told for now since I have nothing better to do and only 87 septims release fee as pocket jingle. I decided to learn about this new place that I was in, I had even forgotten to ask what the name of the village was. So as I walked out of the office I looked around to see who I might be able to ask about the area. The first person I saw was a scrawny wood elf, he seemed like a person who would be quick to help another...especially if some persuation were used. As I started to walk up he not only noticed me but ran up to me with his eyes darting back and forth...he seemed outright terrified that something was watching him or going to jump out of nowhere and get'em, "Have-you-seen-a-ring-with-an-inlaid-green-stone-cut-witha-rectangle-flat-top? They-stole-it-again-I-have-some-friends-I-can-have-make-it-worth-your-while-to-give-it-to-me-or-find-it-if-you-don't-have-it-I-can-" Holy mushrooms this guy was talking fast and at the rate he was going to pass out if he didn't take a breath.

"Shhh ok, ok chill out and slow down. First off I want to know all about this place, but I don't have anything in the way of rings, maybe we can work something out, now who stole your ring."

"Will-I-get-it-back? Itsa-family-heirloom-and-I-can't-lose-it, damn those guards, When-I-get-my-ring-back-I-am-going-to-move-and-and-and"

"HEY! Chill out the guards took your ring? Where might they leave things they don't want found?"

"*inhale....Exhale* ummmmm wweeeeellllllll...maybe they would put it where they could keep an eye on it, but not in their pockets. The first time they took it one got caught by the local tax collector and he got the guy kicked out of the legion. So it will probably be hidden in a public spot where any thief could have dropped it so it wouldn't be traced back to them in a proof sense. So that is where to start..anywhere you can go."

"You still haven't told me about this town. What's here? Who are the big names? Where do I go to get food and a bed?"

"Ok, not much here but my friend Arrille will put you up for free as long as you're helping me out by being here. You can get some food and drink in the upstairs part of his building. Elone is the barkeep, she is a very good listener and is seeing if she hears anything about the ring from drunken guards. The new tax collector will be a big nameas soon as he arrives. Two guys you already met, Sellus and Mr. Ergalla, are the ranking officers here in Seyda Neen. Anything else you want to know?"

"Yea, why don't you know who took your ring in the first place...that would make this a whole lot simpler, not to mention quick."

"Well this is the sixth time they have stolen it. The first time I knew who it was because he just brutily took it from me and laughed at my inability to take it back, which is why I was able to get him sent home, because the guy had it in his pocket. The second time they picked my house doot open when I was gathering seawater and the local mushrooms for a stew, Elone found out it was on my roof, not the easiest place to get it back from since my roof can't hold a persons weight. Third time they took it they somehow pickpocketed it from me, found it in some swamp water in the forest, how lucky I was to fall down the hill that day. Fourth time they got it when I had too much to drink and had passed out while walking from Arrille's back to my house, but they did put me in front of my house. Fifth time they got it from my pants while I was taking a bath in the stream, they left in is a barrel between the two census buildings then and a nice man who, not unlike yourself got off an Imperial Guard Ship from a Cyrodiil prison. I decided to hide it in a nearby tree stump that time but they must have found it because it isn't there anymore and I didn't remove it and I haven't been drinking so I would remember if I had."

"Wow, I can see why you wanna move. The guards here seem to do less guarding and more than their share of theft, dishonorable layabouts....I might have to do more than find your ring before I am satisfied with this situation, and as long as I am involved this is going to be done in my way." Not that I knew what my way was, but it sounded good and I didn't intend to let someone who couldn't hold onto a silly ring tell me how to do anything. "Now let's talk about what I can get out of this other than a free bed and a cheap supply of food."

"I didn't say anything about foo....oh I will see what I can do about it, I am sure it can be done. Tell ya what if nothing else I will make you some of my famous homemade strew for free. I can also talk to Arrille about giving you a break on anything that he is selling from his weapons and such, might even get him to agree to teach you a spell or two if your interested."

"I don't know that I care to start trying to learn spells, seems like a waste of time when you could just as easy hit someone with a bow before they have time to cast one at you, I am already low on money can you offer me any for this job?"

"Sorry I make almost nothing myself, I give Elone the day off once a week and sell my strew at Arrille's but there just isn't much money in a little port town that doesn't do sea-trade, I heard that Processius, the tax collector, was thinking about changing that so we can get some inflow, not a very popular idea though considering he was dead less than a week afterward. I miss him because he used to make it so that everyone was equal."

"Alright I will take this contract but I am going to work in secret so I can't be seen with you again until I have recovered the ring. When I have the ring I expect you to be ready to leave town because you don't wanna be here at the rate things seemed to be going, also make sure that your friends don't let anyone know that they are familiar with me."

"So you don't want the cut on prices? That's strang-"

"Yes I want the cut, but just have them give the money that is the difference to you and I will get it from you right before you leave, consider that your guarantee that I will not leave until I have done this. On my honor you can believe I will hold up my end of the bargain, now go talk to the others in private."

With that I began to head off on a self guided tour of the town. There were only about ten buildings total so it was quick with alot of grunted "how do ya do, outlander." It was more of a statement than a question, which means they saw me I had been seen, but they didn't really wanna talk. That was fine by me. The guards however had more of a nosy manner about them, they seemed like they just wanted me to move on and would interrigate me should any trouble arise. Unfortunately for them, and maybe me, I was intending to start some very soon.

It took me some time to get to this story but I finally did and it's very interesting. A new spin on the character creation process and a character that seems to have a much different personality than most others. The writing is organized well and there aren't any flaws that I could see. Good job and keep up the work. smile.gif

Chapter One- The begining
Part Four- The Troublesome Tradehouse Trailer Trash

After getting an idea of the guard patrol routes, schedules, and where people frequented, and also where everything was in relation to each other I still hadn't seen that man's ring, awww crap I forgot to ask his name!! between not asking the town's name and his I was begining to think that my memory loss was due to the fact that I just decided not to pay any attention to anything.

Well in any case it was starting to get dark and look like rain would fall, so I headed over to Arrille's place. I was getting a bit hungry as well. As I was about to walk in the building a guard was heading out and just about fell off the ledge of the half wraparound porch before I grabbed him. He was not just half in the bag but about nine tenths there, I decided he needed an escort and I decided I should be the first person to offer.

"Be careful there, Good thing I was here to grab you, do you wan..." it was at this point that the guard seemed to really notice me and then rudely interrupted.

"Shut up! I woulda been ffffffine if I 'ad gone over, it's a shortcut to my housth...jus' gonna walk now vo. ew goin' in zatch dere place watch the suwama ets goaaaaaahhhhh...... bbbbllaaaahhhhh oh god..., eh wha' was aye 'ayin'?" and with that he went to the ground and passed out. I thought that the right thing to do was help him out or at least call another guard but I didn't much care about him and he had been hostile mannered so I decided to kick him off the edge of the porch...after all that would get him closer to home. And with that I walked in the pub/inn/store of Seyda Neen.

Aside from a bit of noise from upstairs that blended together into a small hum, Arrille greeted me warmly with a smile and "Hello, I am Arrille and this is my trades house I believe someone mentioned you would be stopping by, isn't that right?" I nodded and said nothing to indicate my desire for silence on the matter.

"Is there a room available still? and is it too late to get some food? oh I want some kind of drink too, if it's not too much trouble"

"Well it just so happens that the, not a, room is right upstairs. That will cost you 30 gold peices for you, seeing how you probably don't have much money in the first place I will let you pay me back whatever you can't pay today later on this week as you find the funding."

In a very hushed wisper and a swift look around to see if anyone had come around from upstairs I glared at the man as I explained the situation to him, "I don't want you to do anything for me that you wouldn't do for any other person who came in on a boat, so just keep our little arrangement quiet and act more like you usually do with strangers."

"I think you misunderstand outlander, I constantly run into people that have just arrived by boat and I treat them all with kindness and generosity, in fact I have a good standing with a couple people in the community which makes it so that just about every person that comes to town stops by and buys at least a new pair of gloves as a suvenior of their trip here and away again. I think I would have less sales if I was mean, don't you agree?"

"Of course, you are a fine businessman of foresight and wisdom, I apologize for my rudeness. My name is Hajima and I am just passing through Seyda Neen, I will take a short break here before I go to my destination, which is Balmora." Wow, that sounded corny and patheticly overworked, but I wasn't going to let him make me look like a jerk or as uncivilized as soon as I arrived, I've been planning things that require some finesse and friends and once I make a plan I do what needs done to make it a success, although I doubt I had planned to leave from Cyrodiil considering my attack on the guards. Oh well I just made myself a liar, now I live with it. I am going to have a little talk to that little guy...Oh yea I should ask about him...but my secrecy is more important for now. I handed the man the 30 septims from my belt pouch.

"Excellent, well here is the key and you will find the cook upstairs, she will also provide you any drink she has the ingredients for, though I would limit it to single ingredient mixes as she has a bad taste for balencing more than one."

"Thank you very much, I suppose I will see you in the morning."

"No, thank you. Sleep well Mr. Hajima." His last remark again made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end, but if that is how he always talked I should just take it in stride. So I decided to stride on upstairs to see a happy looking Nord in Imperial armor. He glanced over at a man in a long robe at the table nearest him, perhaps these two were secretly communicating something....there goes the hair on my neck again...perhaps I am being paranoid again though.

"Hold your horses there outlander, I wanna know what you are doing in my presence without any cash out for me, when I am not eating or drinking anything. Let me tell you how it works around here.....any outlander who passes by a guard who isn't spending money, eating, drinking, or otherwise busy must give that guard at least five septims or they get to have their clothes taken until that outlander is taken into custody for public nudity. I assume you barely have more than five septims after your food money so I will take the minimum amount from you, cough up that coin pouch there if you don't have it." Well I had allowed alot of things to go unbothered for the purpose of being a normal member of the background of this town, but here is where I draw the line.

"That is openly corrupt and is intollerable, I won't pay you for anything without recieveing something I need and I don't need anything from you."

"Acctually there is a very dangerous bandit group nearby that hates outlanders, they are morrowind's fundamentalist-types, but I have some pull with them so I guess I could put in a word to keep you from being attacked, that means it's a protection fee that you DO need."

"Nah, that's ok. I will be fine without your services so have a good evening." and with that I brushed passed him, only to have the robed man step in front of me to block my path.

In a soft, reserved voice that almost sounded pained the guy simply said, "You shouldn't go making trouble like that, I won't allow you to move on without paying the man."

"That sounds like a threat and I don't like the sounds of it, but I have no intention of paying someone for nothing, taxes pay for this guy's salary, and from what I have seen he doesn't really deserve it, you seem to be a person that might understand that."

"No, you will go back downstairs until you figure out how to behave." I was begining to see how this was going to go, so I went back downstairs to talk to Arrille and see what could be done by him as owner of the building.

"Hey can you hear that chatter I am getting from the guard and robed man?" I asked as I turned around the corner at the bottom of the stairs.

"Well I am guessing that you were asked to pay a customary outlander tax, but there's nothing I, a lowly merchant, can do. I would have most of the town against me and then I would have a much harder time making a living. You wouldn't want me to be in that situation would you?" Well there was no way I could argue with that. Arrille had all the best qualities of a merchant including a way with words that I couldn't match. It seems I would have to handle this is a my own way, and at the moment I was tempted to go upstairs let the guy start trouble with me again and kill him after I had established self-defense, but first I wanted to see if there was a non-violent way to do things so that no one would ever have to pay an 'outlander tax' again.

ack, b/c I edited the previous post the thread didn't update to say that there was new material present....so here this is...also I forgot to mention that I really hope that my story helped you, minque, with your inspiration that you mentioned in your last post on serene chapt. 4, it made me feel.....some kind of good, don't quite have the word for it...maybe this is the first time I have felt pride. I don't understand pride, being raised in a strict christian home pride was discouraged. Whenever I accomplish anything in life I always think that I could have done it better or that there is someone who has done everything I have done but three times better and they did it in less time and were even more determined than me at w/e it is. and the things I accomplish are always overshadowed by others or the person I did it for barely notices or it is only something I managed to do because I was gifted at it and that somehow diminishes it quality and value.

On the flip side of the coin I have periods of time where I am extremely arrogent, almost to the point of obnoxiousness. But oddly, it is a pride-less arrogence, it might not make since but it is true. I really hope that I got the material to flow how I wanted in this last post as I have had alot of trouble keeping the original version and the newer modified and improved on seperate in my head. Let me know if I slipped up anywhere and I will fix it, I accept long lists of every single grammer, spelling, puctuation, and story problem at my e-mail, lol.....I really hope no one is quite that bored, but lemme know about flow issues without hesitation plzzzz!!!!!

Chapter One-The Begining
Part Five - The Heist

"Well how can I go to my room tonight without paying that guy, Arrille?"

"Tell ya what, don't you worry about it. Just take these five gold and hand it to him and tell him I said to leave it be at that." Arrille replied as he extended his outstretched fist, which seemed to be an unfamiliar position to his hand after all the open palming he must do at the trade tables.

"Well, I will see you in the morning then." I grudgingly conceited defeat to a long day's wear and tear.

"Thata lad, you are a smart one. I will greet you as I do my own family when next we meet then." I didn't understand what he meant by that but I wasn't in the mood to talk to him anymore...he was starting to get really annoying with that higher-than-you style of talking down to people, while not really saying anything insulting. So once again I climbed up the stairs and this time I gave the annoying guard his toll-fee of 5 gold coins and went off to the other side of the room,, passing the robed man, an attractive redguard woman, a lizard-man, and an Imperial on the way. Once I saw the door to my room I turned back to the others and asked, "Which one of you makes the food here? And could I take it in there with me?" as I pointed to the doorway.

"I do the cooking, but all I am going to make at this time of night is omletes with some bread because I am about to head home, and if you want it I need ten septims before I start the heat going." Said the redguard woman, who I then handed the charge. As I waited for the meal to finish I asked about some of the region and where things were at, learned a good bit about the area before I went into my room for some quite meditation on the days events and what I would have ahead of me the following day. As I finished my meal I made sure not to let myself feel too comfortable after that confrontation earlier. With that thought I let my awareness melt into the dark of sleep. I made a mental note that I had already lost half my money and that this was going to be a problem soon.

I awoke the next morning to a hideous surprise! I was chillily nude, and all my money was gone. 'I know what happened, that robed guy prolly cast a sleep spell on me and those two took all my stuff for giving them a hard time' I thought to myself. I just couldn't figure out how they got in without the key that was in my room with me, which I had used to lock the door. Perhaps that lizard-man had been a thief that was in on their little operation as well. Well first thing to do was get up and start looking for those three. I wraped the sheets around my body and headed out the door. The sun was up above the clouds that were allowing rain to fall upon the ground outside but evidently the cook hadn't showed up yet for her work. The entire upper part of the building was empty so I rushed/ran downstairs to see if Arrille was around. He seemed to have been here, but was no where to be seen at the present. I walked out the front door and found where everyone was at....right outside of the door.

"THAT'S THE OUTLANDER WHO CAME IN NOT A MINUTE AFTER DEOTRIUS LEFT!!!!!" This was the last thing I heard before I had a headache in the back of what seemed to be a prison cell, as I saw bars in front of me. I must have been hit in the head yet again.......this was begining to get old and repititious. I realized then that there were other people in my cell.

"Errr, how long have I been in here?" I was looking at one of the two lizard-men that were in the cell with me, the cat-person was not awake to talk to.

"You are being here for longer than a finger's height of the sun, muthera." Wow, some of the things that I had heard since arriving in Morrowind were truly baffling. I hadn't asked Arrille what a family welcome was going to mean, and I ended up in here....I was not about to go through that mistake again.

"How long is that? Is it less than a day?"

"Oh yes, much less. I would thinks it be abouts one thirds the time between meals here."

"And just where is here? how did I get here? How long have you been here? and Why are were here?"

"Muthera asks many questions.....I know not much, but guards of Seyda Neen carry you here, I have been here for a half red moon. Our silent friend here has had his tongue lost to him and has been here since before me. Too bad he can't talk or write, makes me talk to little kitty kitty here, but now you are here muthera."

"Yea well I would rather be not here, so don't get too used to me being about."

"About whats?"

"Nevermind" I had no idea how to get out, but dark, damp, and barred were not my dream home's description. hopefully the kitty would know more about the situation. At this point in my thoughts I was interrupted by a guard from outside my cell and a little down the hall. "Where is this, and why am I in prison?!" I demanded from the Imperial.

"You be quite, MURDERER! You better learn the rules here faster than your cell mate did or you are going to be here for alot longer. Your sentence for now is to do labor for two weeks if your behavior is good, and then you will be released. You are really lucky, normally murder nets a much much longer sentence. Because it was your first offense and because the man you killed could have been drunk to the point of passing out. You might have been given a trial if the guards hadn't already pegged you as a trouble maker the night before. In any case I don't really care what anyone's story is and because of your short sentence I would just do the time and leave. If you leave now you will have only your rags you are wearing now, if you wait we will give you meals and a few septims to get you away from here and stop causeing us trouble."

And so it was that I spent two weeks in a prison with a mute lizard, which I learned preferred to be called Argonians after he almost gutted me with a sharp claw, an annoying talking Argonian, and a very strange kitty, who said to call it "the kajiit flower." I tried to pretty much do as I was told and it paid of because on exit I found that I received 20 gold, enough for a stilt strider ride to Balmora they assured me. I knew I had long over-postponed my Emperor-appointed duty, but I still had business in Seyda Neen before I headed out from the port town. Turns out that the prison was only a mile from Seyda Neen hidden in the side of a hill that was only used by the guards of my favorite little port hamlet.

As I walked into the town I went straight to the ring-guy's house. I figured I ought to find out if he had found his ring yet or not, and ask him what had went on in town after I had been towed away. I got to the house and opened the door only to see a guard charge out at me full force with his sword drawn out and pointed at me.

Had a bit of bad luck there. So the smugglers are actually the local prison guards? That's an interesting view. I like the story so far, keep it up!

Oh GOD, it kills me how you guys jump to all these conclusions, I love it b/c it means I can surprise you later on. Which is the best part of all, because I personally hate stories that become predictable. If my story ever gets like that just tell me and I will skip/speed forward to something new and fresh ...or something will be done to improve the situation.

thanks for the cake minque, been craving that for some reason the last few days...too bad I can't acctually eat the image.

By the way I would like to point out some things like the fact that I was on the boat with Jiub, and fargoth's ring has been found in the barrel, given to him, left in the tree stump, and restollen again. Also I don't know if anyone noticed, as no one said anything, but the sign that hajima was born under is never asked for or said. His current class is wonderer, as in one who wonders....even though the thread name denotes that his class is a nin ronin, kinda regret putting that in the name to be honest. none of that stuff is an accident of coincedental, so maybe you will start to put....a subliminal two and sine of inverse of cosine and one together, rofl.

Hope you like the update...here it is

Chapt. One
Part Six.- The Solurion's Initiation

I was somehow not really surprized that I was getting a cold reception but I barely evaded that thrust. Luckily for me the fool had his hands four feet in front of his waist and was acctually leaning forward, while running at me, with his arms all the way outstretched and sword pointing at me. This put all his weight and momentum going forward, a fact that I was fully aware of before I realized I was paying attention to it. I had moved to my left to sidestep the attack and was then grabbing his right elbow and shoulder with my hands and gave him a strong pull with my foot moving into his path, I began to pull his body into a downward circle that made him fall on his back where he looked bewildered as I held his comfiscated sword at his throat....when did I get that...it was as if my body had moved on its own and now I had the guard quivering in fear beneath his own blade, very interesting....

"Why shouldn't I kill you to protect myself? The last time a guard came across my path here I ended up in jail for a death I didn't cause, it was that man's own booze that killed him."

"You don't want to kill me, I don't matter that much...really, I am just here to see if Fargoth's ring is around his house. He is off looking for some old fool that helped him find it."

"I see well for now I think its best if you just sleep right here." I took a quick look through all the things in the building for something that would cause the man to go to sleep, finally I just decided to let him up."Well don't just lay there, get on your feet and find something like filling and that'll cause you to sleep." As he got up I tossed him into a wall so that he hit his head and was knocked out. "That is for trying to kill me just now!" I didn't care if it wasn't honorable to seek revenge like that, I was really tired of the open corruption of these guards.

I then used Fargoth's sheets to tie the guard down to the chair in the corner. I gaged him with a sock and left him in there. I might not know where I came from or how it was, but I know that this town isn't right and I can't change it through conventional means, I will just get thrown away again or worse. So now I am going to go with my gut instinct, even though it is a bit more violent than I think is appropriate.

With those thoughts I left the Fargoth house, and brought the sword with me, it was already dusk as I had been released from prison at six O' clock, according to the one that was in that obviously crooked guard sub-captain's office. I decided to walk over to the lighthouse and see what, if anything, the woman there might know about what was what in the town since I left.

I managed to get to the guardtower unnoticed. When I knocked on the door, there was a timid reply that the door was open. Having just been charged at after opening a door, I moved the door with my right foot as my body was on the left side of the door, so that I wasn't directly outside the door to begin with. When the door swung open I found the woman holding a dagger only a couple feet back from the door, so she was either really jumpy or was expecting someone. I decided it was safe from the look on her face though, once she recognized me.

"Oh my goodness you are the man that they framed for that drukard's death, what are you doing back in Seyda Neen? You must go. Now! they will probably kill you if they find out you are still around the town. Oh, NO. They might be on their way here right now. I don't want them here you must leave!"

"So you KNEW I was innocent! Why did you not help me? I just lost two weeks because you couldn't open your mouth! I am not going anywhere until I know what is going on and no one is coming because no one knows I am here."

"Don't be mad with me, innocent or guilty doesn't matter in a little place like this. It is just a matter of whether you behave for the guards of not. If I had said anything I would have been said to be an accomplice and then I would have only succeded in getting us both in prison."

"How could you live with your shame? You are a truly cowardly being to have done as you have. I have some questions, and since you saved your hide you are going to answer them. Where is Fargoth, where are the majority of the guards at this time of day and a little later on in the evening, how can I defeat the guards here that have you in this terrified state, and how long has it been like this?"

"It has been like this ever since the last tax collector was killed by the guards for giving them a hard time about taxes. It was blamed on *sob* a local man who was paid to take the blame, but I know who ..who ...who, IT WAS THE GUARDS I TELL YOU!!!!" She was crying uncontrolably at this point, and then suddenly a line was drawn in my head that made it make sense.

"You two were lovers weren't you? I am very sorry that you had to suffer like this, but I will avenge his death...this has made this much easier for me. Now I really need to know where guards are and how I can defeat them with this longblade I hold in my hands." Instead of replying she simply walked over to a small storage box and started taking out vials of liquid. and marked each one as either a healing salve which she marked with "H", or something that would make my body energized and more than fight ready, denoted by a large "SF&E" by the time she was done marking them all she could speak well enough to let me know what they meant. I was also told where to find each guard around this time of day. This took several minutes as she still had to talk kind of slow and steady. "Once again, I am sorry I have made you go through what are obviously painful memories."

"No, I am just glad that someone had the ability and the courage and cared enough to help my Processius" and with those heavy words of encouragement I set off to the first spot that I would need to wait at for a guard to come by on his route, farthest from the other buildings.

I sat down in the bushes and waited until the sound of footsteps was so loud I thought I would go deaf at the next step and as I came around the tree I slashed my sword across my front at chest level and caught the Imperial guard right in the throat, he seemed to try to pull something from his pocket before he was unconcious seconds later, and then dead swiftly thereafter. I took a gander through his pocket to see what it was, another liquid vial, a healing potion no doubt. But I didn't want to play around with something that had more effects than I could detect with my nose. So I moved the body into the shadowy underbrush behind the tree, where I had been hiding. Tomorrow this would be drawing animals and stinking to high heaven so I now had a time limit to finish up my work in Seyda Neen or leave town without finishing it at all. So far I had managed to not have to use any potions whatsoever, but I doubted very much that would remain the case through the rest of this night.

Oh, the tension is building. One person against the guards of Seyda Neen. Luckily he just showed more combat proficiency than I would expect from someone who didn't do much fighting yet.

And me jumping to conclusions, well that's just how I am. So surprise me! smile.gif

A nice update again, good work.

well he has been thinking about killing people but didn't think he was supposed to think like that so he was trying to restrain himself, and honestly he was prolly surprized at how well he was fighting since he has no memory also you have to think that most of this was not really fighting but sneaking up on people and taking cheap shots at them.....lol...btw this guy is alot like how I would really be in that setting...I am really violent deep down.

Chapter One- The Begining

Part Six- The Solution's Conclusion

I moved on to the area behind Arrille's tradehouse, which was brightly lit at this point because there were fires had been started so as to fight off the evening chill and to substitute for the fading sunlight. I could see a lot of my surrounding without being seen myself. I did not see the guard however and was starting to get nervous as his absence might set my timing off for the other routes. I was about to move to the next route when I saw the guard turn around the corner of the tradehouse and was jogging in my direction. I launched a foot out in front of him from the shadows, with which my jail clothes were blending well, but this guard was relatively well balenced seeing as he did not fall over. He even kept right on running, he must have thought it was a root or something. That worked for me.

I decided not to persue that particular guard just yet. I made my way around town back to Fargoth's house to see about my unfinished business, which I could now fulfill with the knowledge of the tax collectors real murderers. I walked into the room at the precise moment that I figured out why the last guard had been in a hurry and was late. He had been in the building and must have gone for backup, or a witness, or for someone to help him untie and carry the guy I tied up. Well I didn't want to be inside when they got back in case there were more than a few that came back.
...
I had to wait a full minute before I saw the same guard coming back, with two others flanking him. One of the guards was the guy from my first day in this accursed place, Barry I think was his name. Which kind of an odd name for an Imperial really. The other flanking guard was from Arrille's that had charged me a tax to get into my room, well this would be difficult but worth it. I immediately drank all but two of my SFnE solution so that it would have a few seconds to hit my stomach before they actually reached the building.

The moment they were all three in the door I jumped in behind them silently so that they were thinking only of their comrade in front of them, while I had time to take a full second to aim at the neck of that Nord of corruption. In a single stroke I had severed his spinal cord, wind pipe, and major artery of the left side of the neck. not to mention the muscle there so that the head immediately flopped over on its right side spraying the other two and myself in warm, moist, copperic blood, Nord blood seemed to be extra thick somehow, perhaps from centuries of cold weather.

As the other two simultaneously turned and drew their swords together, I slashed my own prepared blade across the throat of the guard that had went to get the other two, this cost me dearly however as I was hit by a blow to the side from Barry. I felt myself serge up with even more adrenaline and I drew my sword back and sliced his entire head clean off as the thrill of battle coursed through my veins I felt the wound I had recieved seal up from a potion before it wore off.

Even the damage to my side seemed to disappear as I cut the belly, of the tied down guard, open to display the hidden contents, which acctually had a very offensive odor to them as the food that he had last ate was obviously something bad and had produced alot of gas. I tried to wipe myself off as best I could before I left the house-de-Fargoth.

I had done well with that little incident as I only needed one healing potion for the cut I recieved from essentially five guards thus far. I wanted to get to the next guy as I was still excited. I found the next person just where he was supposed to be, on route to fargoth's house, this was the guy that was supposed to be the first one to find the tied up man, and I was supposed to get here about a minute ago. Things were not going to plan but were working out well enough so far. As he got near the house he seemed to feel less at ease, perhaps this one had some talent in divine-ing things.

Oh Mephala, help me! It was the man in the robe from the inn from a fortnight ago, he was undoubtedly a rarity as being a mage of some sort in the Imperial order. I had expected all the guards would be fighting with weapons, and so I had nothing to defend myself against magic except wits, my abillity to dodge a direct attack, and my unlikely chance of a deathblow being dealt to him before he could cast on me. I didn't want to count on the idea that he would limit himself to direct attacks, and I wasn't sure how fast the guy was so I didn't really wanna find out the hard way with magic being involved. So that left me with my wits. I dropped my weapon silently on the ground and I put on a friendly face and felt a warmthly glow arise from within me that seemed to beam un-ignorable confidence from me. I steped up to the light and spoke with this guard as persuasively as I could.

"Hello, I am looking for my items that were with me the night before I was taken to prison, you were one of the last people to see it would you happen to know where those said posessions were placed, and could I please get them back as I need it so that I can head out of town to Vivec where I have business." I didn't want this guy to lead anyone after me once he figured out what I had done, obviously.

"Eh? I wasn't really supposed to say anything....but I guess if it'll get you outta town faster there can't be any harm in it. Follow me up to the storage, where your things are located." This guy's meekness in his voice had gone from him the minute he put his uniform on it seemed, as he now almost sounded much like Barry had the first time I saw him. "It's just in that door there, go on in."

"Could you show me where? I don't want anyone to think I took anything that doesn't belong to me, you see."

"Oh,... very well, I will grab it for you...*nervous seconds pass as he rumages through the loot*..Here you go." He had the whole set of clothes and probably most of the money still in there, but now there was a dagger. I think he was testing me to see if I would steal something right out of his hands. I don't like to be analyzed, so I pulled it from the sheath and in the same motion slashed across his throat. Or at least where his throat had been a moment ago. I couldn't see where he had went, but he was either invisible or had magically moved somewhere, and I had no intention of staying put to find out which.

I headed out of the storage area only to find that there were that last 3 guards, as well as captain Sellus, running toward me. I quickly downed the rest of my potions and moved into a melee range. I evaded the first sloppy thrust attack and allowed it to flow past me as I had to parry the next blow with the short blade I had off to my other side. The third guard was one I hadn't seen except on routes through town. He was the first to go to an early grave, as he attacked last out of the first wave. His weapon ended up poke-ing him in the eye. This caused him to drop to the ground. I took his sword, as he rolled around grabbing his eyeball/socket.

With my new longer blade I went to hacking as hard as I could at the other two fighters, who merely tried to keep from allowing the blade to touch them. I could tell they were getting tired but I was barely breathing hard. After about ten seconds of being on the defensive they turned tail and ran. Then Sellus finally arrived at my location and he took a conservative stance. I tried to break it with a wide swing to his temple, which got me hit in the ribs by his own sword as he ducked my attack. I made a backswing into his torso as well and got my sword stuck in the upper arm bones on his right side. On the plus side he just lost most of his movement on that side because I had severed a lot of muscle fibers. He was bleeding profusely and the smooth liquid was running down his sleeve and dropping to the ground as we continued to parry and attack back and forth a bit. Both of us were too intimidated to take a really offensive movement that might cost us our life. Finally, as we were begining to get so worn down we would be fair game for animals, I found an opening to fast-stab his face and ended it.

I slumped to the ground and could feel the effects of the potions starting to wear off, and so had my excitement rush. At this point I just wanted to go lay down somewhere and rest. I really needed to take care of those last two pests, but I didn't know where they were. I decided to walk back to the tower and ask for another healing potion as I was pretty sure I needed it and had earned it by now. I got to the lighthouse and was given another bottle of sweet healing juice...I quickly felt better, not rejuvenated, or even normal, but much better.

I wanted to get moving quickly before anything bad could happen and I decided to go to Balmora as soon as the stilt strider got back. I had heard of it from the annoying Argonian while I was in prison. He confirmed that it would run a route to Balmora. I listened for anything unusual and couldn't hear any kind of commotion outside, Waiting until the stilt strider got back from its last trip. Eventually I heard the cries of the strider coming in to port. I started to make my way into town in my new old-tax-collector outfit that had been given to me as a present and show of appreciation, not to mention so that I didn't walk out with a half a dozen men's blood on me....that would kinda look suspicious.

As I approached the top of the hill where the strider was I spoke up a bit, "What all can this thing do and where can it get me?"

Darvame Hleran , "Well, this old bug is your only non-walk option to get to anywhere, but I only take this baby to Balmora, Vivec, huge city that is..., Suran, and Gnisis, although that's kinda far so it'll cost ya."

"Well I have business in Balmora so I think I would like to head out that way."

"Not a problem, but I need 15 gold paid in advance." Which I gave her.

Three hours and a couple dry, heaving, vomits later I got to Balmora. This town's buildings were different from the ones in the previous town. And with the thought of the sickness in my stomach I embarked on my newest task. With only 25 gold I might very well starve at the rate things were going. But for now the name of the hour was Stargel...wait a sec..., huh...?.

Here ends our time in Seyda Neen and the long Chapter One. I am informed that this chapter is about 16 pages, which in comparison to Serene's 25 for chapter one I figure I am not quite as detailed, then again my chapter one covers less geography...oh well writing styles have a nice variety and make things more interesting I hope that you all have enjoyed reading this.

and so minkey you have effectivly had the end of the first chapter of my first fanfic dedicated to you.

well, I have been keeping a post-a-day pace and I COULD keep it up, but I am like...triple posting in here and I don't intend to fill a forum's computer's memory with a story that is not being looked forward to that frequently, ....plus I have college that is demanding part of my time. I even felt BAD about not getting on yesterday to provide a daily update...well now I know better....I will update when you all are just drooling for more...and if you aren't then I am not going to have anyone reading out of pity...
Kiln
Well my friend I will offer you the same advice I offer to any other writer here at W4O that is in distress from lack of comments, and that is simply to keep writing. Don't worry about if you get replies or not, don't get discouraged as the fan fiction section has slowed down quite a bit in recent times and people haven't been posting comments so frequently but don't worry, it should pick back up soon enough.

Until then I can only suggest that you continue your story regardless of how many comments you get. Well I've given you my advice, whether you follow it or not is up to you but at least I tried.

P.S. It may take some time before Minque has time to comment on this story but I'm sure she'll be overjoyed to see this chapter dedicated to her.

lol, thanks kiln. I really 'preciate it. I just been kinda stressin' lately. well, I don't know if I care to post daily if people can't keep up, but maybe I will just make my posts a bit shorter.... well here goes a new post.

Chapter Two: Roots in a Strange Place
Part 1- Sneaky Silent Stranger

'What was that name? Who is this Stargel? And what made his name pop in my head? It's like when I got to fighting....I just seemed to know without knowing how or why I knew what I know.... Stargel.... Stargel...Well it isn't going to pop back just yet I guess, I will have to ask around to see if anyone here is named that...maybe I have been in this place before and someone will know me or him. Well in the last town I visited I stuck around and now I see what that leads to so I better head straight to that guy's house...letter says the name is Cassius Cosades and that I should ask around. staaarrgggeeelll, nope... still nothing...' These were my first thoughts as I strolled into Balmora.

So I decided to walk into the first public building I saw which happened to be named the 'Balmora Council Club' as I walked in I got a generally frosty reception from everyone, all of whom were downstairs. I asked the man at the bar what he was selling and he looked at me as though I was the virus that infected the gum on the bottom of the dirt on the bottom of his shoe, that's how bad it was....I didn't know that someone could look that disgusted, it couldn't be healthy to contort the face that way.

I decided that this place and all it's "Filthy Outlander" comments was probably a bad place to be as a general rule. So I started to head back up the stairs when I felt a hand grab my shoulder, "Don't you turn your back on us you filthy curr!" was the last thing I heard before I was in a bed with a shelf above it. There was an accompany-ing quarter of a memory of a hammer being brought right in front of my face as I was almost turned around....I could feel where the weapon had left a cut above my right eye. The cut wasn't bleeding anymore, but there was dried blood on my face.

I began to sit up when I had the most painful throbbing sensation run from my head to my neck to my chest and arms where it seemed to paralyze me. Either the blood in my head was severely messed up and low or there was some kind of magical boobie trap on my bed so that I couldn't get away from where I was. I decided to rest a bit more in case it was the former and b/c I wasn't really feeling up to an escape even if I was in held custody, so the best idea was to lay down and naturally heal via sleep and feign unconciousness.

If anyone came to my room while I had slept I couldn't tell by looking around. This time I tried tolling on my side and rolling off of the bed. This had better results than my previous attempt at getting up and about, but now I was much more hungry and thristy, oh my pain I was thristy. I must have been in here for half a day and that was after three hours in a bug, puking my guts out, which was after a fight.

Fights seemed to be following me wherever I went, maybe it was punishment for something I did, perhaps I had been a bit uncouth with the guards in Seyda Neen, but they couldn't be reasoned with and had the locals in fear of them.

"Oh, you're awake! That'll make this easier." There was someone right behind me!!

"You are being escorted out of here by me." He said as I ducked and turned at the same time....no hammer or other weapon was visable. "Come on now, I would have just slid a dagger across your throat before you knew I was here. You misunderstand the new status of your situation, you are free. I am just letting you walk out without being vulnerable, which at the moment you very much are if you are alone."

"Uh huh, and ummm what about the guys that put me here?"

"We'll be seeing them on the way out." and with that my savior bent down, unlocked the door with a flip of his wrist and opened the door.... and all I could do is wonder silently about how he had gotten in the room without opening the door in the first place and how we were going to get out of here without getting hurt or dead.

______
Well that was interesting, in my mind I had intended to have Hajima just walk into someone in town who knew Cassius and be at his house in under 12 lines, but now I am more interested.....well we will see where this is going....b/c even I don't know where I am going with this..... but I know what is going on outside that door, I am indeed a tease rofl.

Things just never seem to go smoothly, do they?
But he always manages to find (or receive) a way out.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I really like your story and would love to see it being continued.

btw I didn't change threads because chapter one wasn't long enough to justify it having it's own thread, plus it barely took up 10% of the thread capcity. Now for 2.2

Chapter Two- Roots in a Strange Place
Part two- A New Alliance, and the Strange Occurance that Lead to it.

As the door swung open on it's hinges I saw blood on the floor outside on the landing. Across from my room there was another door. To the left was a wall, and to the right there was a slope upwards. "Is there anyone in the other room?" My new aquiantance just grunted in a way to let me know that if there was we were not spending time to get them out.

As I came around the door to my own room I saw the body at the top ot the slope and the lines of blood that had made their way near my room. As we got closer I saw her throat had been slit open and her eyes had been taken out as well..."Why would you have taken her eyes after sliting her throat?"

"I cut her eyes out and then her throat, of course. Besides I like to collect the eyeballs of everyone that I mark to kill. I have large jars filled with eyes back home. I have one set I am especially proud of, maybe one day I will honor you with the privaledge of being able to come to my home and show them to you they have a nice story to them too. " Wow, this guy must have a really great house and come from a privaledged family for it to be that big a deal for him to have someone over to his place.

By this time we had passed three more bodies. Thay must have been taken by a LOT of surprise as my fellow had not a scratch on him. They all had been together when he had attacked them, as there were no lines of blood from being dragged to their present location. ....He seemed to leave the dead wherever they fell.

"Did you use a healing potion to look so healthy after killing this many people at one time?"

"No, these fools were nothing to get worked up about really, I am guessing that you aren't either if they are the ones that put you in bed, speaking of your lack of ability to defend yourself .....if you need a healing potion I always carry one... though I haven't needed one for quite some time." Wow, this guy was kinda mean...and full of himself. I doubted he was half a good as he would like to have me think.

"I'm fine, as long as I don't have to fight." I didn't much care for his conecending tone, and I had a certain amount of pride...I could feel it telling me not to accept handouts. He had also already done me a great service so I felt like I had to be nice to him just until we got outta here and we parted ways.

"We are almost to the door. Clean off your face with this cloth (yes, mother!), can't have you attracting the guard's attention as it would be too troublesome." (oh...that's true I guess) He said that as he turned around pulling a cloth out of his pocket. I wiped my face clean and used some of the alcohol that the fool at my feet had refused to sell to me, and it burned like hell...but it was better than just using a dry cloth.

I heard a door nearby open and my escortee pulled me down behind the bar's counter with his bodyweight without a sound beyond my 'umph'. Four men were coming down to us from the sounds of the alarmed voices there must have been more corpses up there as well. Once they sounded as though they were in the same room as us the fellow at my side lunged off to the side and up a little so as to get a sideways flight look to his movement. He threw dagger after dagger in very rapid succesion one hand after another, howls of pain came to my ears. I saw two bolts fly past him as the others misjudged where he would be by the time they pulled the trigger and the arrow got to him as he threw the last dagger he bent his body at an odd angle and dodged an arrow mid-air just before he hit the ground. I heard the screams of pain turn into garggles, as though they were underwater, then I heard the other bodies also hit the floor.

The dodger had thrown at least five daggers before he had reached the floor. As I glanced over the counter I saw four men that were at least twenty feet away. All of them had daggers in their throats and two had eyes with blades in them, both of whom were weilding crossbows. I couldn't believe my eyes, but now I knew how he had gotten in unscathed in the first place, and why I was one to be connescended at. This was a man capable of killing anyone, who wasn't as good at dodging as he was, on a whim.....and his dodging was amazing as well. I wouldn't underestimate his fighting again as I had when I thought he was just blowing smoke.

"Da**, I hit the cornea of that one....my aim needs some tweaking." He had to be joking but he looked really mad...."Good thing that didn't happen with any of the people I had marked, I wouldn't be able to put that eye in my collection jar."

"That was amazing....how did you get so good at throwing daggers?"

"I couldn't possibly begin to tell you of the training I have underwent and the deals I have made to attain such abilities, but I will say that I would be amazed to meet more than three other people who have attained as much as I have. What I need now is HUMAN resources. I want you to be a resource of mine, because I can only be in one place at a time and cannot fit into certain social places that you can. I expect that you will find a partnership with me most benificial.

"For now though we need to get out of here before anyone misses these sacks of meat on the floor." I nodded and we began to run through the rest of the compound, it was larger than I had thought it would be but we were out within a minute.

I couldn't believe how cold hearted he had been toward the people he had killed, I mean it wasn't like I hadn't killed before, but I didn't doubt that they were important to someone and that they were undeserving of life because they disgraced themselves and those around them....it had been a favor to them so that they could keep some honon and respect in this life. He also reminded me of something......that cold indifference was familar to me somehow. At this point I was looking forward to seeing if more of my memory was unlocked, "Do you know a man named Stargel?"

"No, and you need to be quite or I won't be able to hear any approaching guards from outside. So wait until later to ask your questions." Well, at least I got the answer before he started treating me like a child.

Once outside I realized that while that place had all the same people and that the contents of the building were the same, I was actually in another building entirely, in another town maybe...it was cold out, "Where is this? I was near the stilt strider port of Balmora when I walked into the building that I was captured in by the same people that are in there...what's going on?"

"Well, I am no specialist at transportation magic, but I would guess they had something similar to a mage guild guide, because you are a long long way from Balmora. This is the city of Dagon Fel, fool."

Yes Kilnīs advice is very good! So follow it!!!

And by all means I donīt have a fair chance commenting, your updating-frequency is ..is high!
But Iīll say you have a very good pace in your story, somethingīs happening all the time.....that makes it easy and exciting to follow....

NOW....one thing.....please donīt take it the wrong way.....I just want to ask you not to forget paragraphing!....In one of the updates I just read I found a bit too long paragraphs....hehe have mercy with me...an outlander! biggrin.gif

Aside from that itīs good so continue...and remember, I read everything!!!!!!!!!!

ah thanks for reminding me my writing LD revolves around making sentences and paragraphs too long. I will go back through all of them later on I just remembered that I have a bio test tomorrow that I haven't studied for and I have to finish up three chem labs and take them up to campus today once they are done. Also if you mentioned which post/part was needing improvement it would help lots, perhaps post a quote or two that was really bad....although maybe that is asking a bit much of U... Well I need to turn my 'puter off as it has been over-heating lately, I need 2 pick up a can-o-air from my local geek-o-mart. I will be back on late tonight to see about editing the last three posts or so, for paragraphing and run-on sentences.

I know one, or more of you few readers haven't gotten a chance to read the last post, but I promised minkey new material today, lol
So here is the end of what I have written in sequence...thanks again for the stuff minkey
Chapter One- The Begining
Part Six- The Solution's Conclusion

I moved on to the area behind Arrille's tradehouse, which was brightly lit at this point as fire's had been started to fight off the evening chill and to substitute for the fading sunlight.  I could see alot of my surrounding without being seen myself.  I did not see the guard however and was starting to get nervous as his absence might set my timing off for the other routes.  I was about to move to the next route when I saw the guard turn around the corner of the tradehouse and was jogging in my direction.  I launched a foot out in front of him from the shadows, with which my jail clothes were blending well, but this guard was relatively well balenced seeing as he did not fall over so much as kept right on runing, he must have thought it was a root or something. He had been in the building and must have gone for backup as a witness or to help him untie and carry the guy I tied up.  Well I didn't want to be inside when they got back in case there were more than a few that came back.  I had to wait a full minute before I saw the same guard coming back, with two others flanking him.  One of the guards was the guy from my first day in the acursed place, Barry I think was his name, kind of an odd name for an Imperial really.  The other flanking guard was from Arrille's that had charged me a tax to get into my room, well this would be difficult but worth it.  I immediately drank all but two of my SFnE solution so that it would have a few seconds to hit my stomach before they acctually reached the building.

The moment they were all three in the door I jumped in behind them silently so that they were thinking only of their comrade in front of them, while I had time to take a full second to aim at the neck of that Nord of corruption, in a single stroke I had severed his spinal cord, wind pipe, and major artery of the left side of the neck.  not to mention the muscle there so that the head immediately flopped over on its right side spraying the other two and myself in warm, moist, copperic blood, Nord blood seemed to be extra thick somehow, perhaps from centuries of cold weather.

As the other two simultaneously turned and drew their swords together, I slashed my own prepared blade across the throat of the guard that had went to get the other two, this cost me dearly however as I was hit by a blow to the side from Barry.  I felt myself serge up even more than I had been and I drew my sword back and sliced his entire head clean off as the thrill of battle coursed through my veins.  Even the damage to my side seemed to disappear as I cut the belly of the tied down pig open to display the hidden contents, which acctually had a very offensive odor to them as the food that he had last ate was obviously something bad and had produced alot of gas.  I tried to wipe myself off as best I could before I left the house de Fargoth.  I had done well with that little incident as I only needed one healing potion for the cut I recieved from essentially five guards thus far, I wanted to get to the next guy as I was still excited,  I found the next person just where he was supposed to be, on route to fargoth's house, this was the guy that was supposed to be the first one to find the tied up man, and I was supposed to get here about a minute ago, but things were working out just fine so far.  As he got near the house he seemed to feel less at ease, perhaps this one had some talent in divineing things.

Oh, Mephala help me! I dropped my weapon silently on the ground and I put on a friendly face and felt a warmthly glow arise from within me that seemed to beam  uningorable confidence from me.  I steped up to the light and spoke with this guard as persuasivly as I could.

Follow me up to the storage, where you things are located."  This guy's meekness in his voice had gone with him the minute he put his uniform on it seemed, as he now almost sounded like Barry had the first time I saw him.  "It's just in that door there, go on in."

"Could you show me where I don't want anyone to think I took anything that wasn't mine, you see."

:"Oh,... very well, I will grab it for you.....Here you go."  He had the whole set of clothes and probably most of the money still in there, but now there was a dagger, I think he was testing me to see if I would steal something right out of his hands, I don't like to be analyzed, so I pulled it from the sheath and in the same motion slashed across his throat.  Or at least where his throat had been a moment ago.  I couldn't see where he had went, but he was either invisible or had magically moved somewhere, and I had no intention of staying put to find out which.

I headed out of the storage area only to find that there were that last 3 guards, as well as captain Sellus, running toward me.I quickly downed the rest of my potions and moved into a melee range.  I evaded the first sloppy thrust attack and allowed it to flow past me as I had to parry the next blow with the short blade I had off to my other side.  The third guard was one I hadn't seen except on routes through town.  He was the first to go as he attacked last out of the first wave, His weapon ended up poke-ing him in the eye, which caused him to drop to the ground, give me his sword, and roll around grabbing his eyeball/socket.  With my new longer blade I went to hacking as hard as I could at the other two fighters I could tell they were getting tired but I was barely breathing hard.  After about ten seconds they turned tail and ran as Sellus arrived he took a conservative stance, which I tried to break with a wide swing to his temple, which got me hit in the ribs by his own sword as he ducked my attack, I made a backswing into his torso as well and got my sword stuck in the upper arm bones on his right side.  On the plus side he just lost most of his movement on that side because I had severed a lot of muscle fibers.  He was bleed profusely and the smooth liquid was running down his sleeve and dropping to the ground as we continued to parry and attack back and forth a bit, both too intimidated to take a really offensive movement that might cost us our life.  Finally as we were begining to get so worn down we would be fair game for animals, I found an opening to fast-stab his face and ended it.

I slumped to the ground and could just barely feel the effects of the potions I had been taken before the fight starting to wear off, as had my excitement rush.  At this point I just wanted to go lay down somewhere and rest.  I really needed to take care of those last two pests, but I didn't know where they were.  I decided to walk back to the tower and ask for another healing potion as I was pretty sure I needed it and had earned it by now.  I got to the lighthouse and was given another bottle of sweet healing jiuce...I quickly felt better, not rejuvenated, or even normal, but much better.  I wanted to get moving quickly before anything bad could happen and I decided to go to Balmora as soon as the stilt strider got back.  I had heard of it from the annoying Argonian while I was in prison.  He confirmed that it would run a route to Balmora.  I listened for anything unusual and couldn't hear any kind of commotion outside, and everntually I heard the cries of the strider coming in to port.  I started to make my way into town in my new old-tax collector outfit that had been given to me as a present and show of appreciation, not to mention so that I didn't walk out with a half a dozen men's blood on me....kinda would look suspicious.

As I approached the top of the hilll where the strider was I spoke up a bit, "What all can this thing do and where can it get me?"

Here ends our time in Seyda Neen and the very long Chapter One. I am informed that this chapter is about 16 pages, which in comparison to Serene's 25 for chapter one I figure I am not quite as detailed, then again my chapter one covers less geography...oh well writing styles vary nicely and interesting ly I hope that you all have enjoyed reading this.

and so minkey you have effectivly had the end of the first chapter of my first fanfic dedicated to you.

Well I think that should count as my update for today as it took me about an hout and a half to edit the last three posts, hope you enjoy!! *wispers* and forgive...*

Wow, if only my character's marsmanship was one-tenth of his. Wait a minute, it probably is. My character couldn't hit Skar when he stood a metre away from it and faced the big bug.

Now please keep writing, you've made me curious to who that guy is. First I thought Caius, but I don't think he could do that. Not to mention he would have to get a shirt first. laugh.gif
jchamber
lol, mr. cosades gives you a black shirt in the game when he goes away to Cyrodiil so it's not like he doesn't have a shirt, he is like me and doesn't wear one inside...don't picture that...good thing you can't since I use an avatar instead of a real pic or else you might be mentally scar-ed for life...rofl

Thanks for the help and encouragement.

btw I think I mentioned that my LD is in regards to lack of paragraphing and run-on sentences(thoughts). It is because my brain doesn't stop or slow down when it processes information and I don't think in sets of this is with this and that is with that...it's all interelated and it is inseperable in my mind, and that is how I naturally write things....so when I write correctly it is very unnatural to me....like missing the joints between my finger bones or something...well anyway here comes yet another update...

Chapter Two- Roots in a Strange Place
Part Three- Deals, Meals, and Nighttime Reels*

"Dagon Fel? Where is that?" I asked.

"I just told you that is here! North of the main island of Morrowind.* He sounded annoyed with me, perhaps he didn't like people....that would explain why he hadn't had friends to help him before now. I decided to show him how to be a little kinder by example.

"Wow, that must be pretty far...I am hoping that I can get back to Balmora soon. I have a hunch that something important to me might be there." I was going to ask how to get there but he cut me off.

"Anything valuable? If that's the case I want part in it.." This guy wasn't gonna budge, looks like I was going to have to put up with him until I knew how to get away from him and back on track to Balmora.

"It's not like that. Although there could be something of high value there that I don't know about."

"Doubt it, I've been there, it's not a great city. What are you looking for?"

"Like I asked you, Stargel."

"And who is this Stargel?"

"Someone I want to find." I didn't really trust someone who collected eyeballs, had skills he couldn't be bothered to explain, and was looking to use people as tools of his own will, not to mention arrogent, annoying, and a jerk in general. I had no intention of giving out the fact that I had no memory left to him, he might see it as an invitation to lie to me and make up a story where we were best friends and I did everything for him or something.....I didn't want to see how well he could convince me he was right.

"That's fine, just thought I could help out, but not if I don't know anything about the guy." I was surprised he had given up so easily, but I didn't really know much more than what I had told him anyway.

"This is someone I need to see on my own, but I would like help finding a guy named Cassius too, I have business with him."

"You shouldn't refuse help where you need it. I am going to take you to a house that I am using until I leave town as I am only passing through." He didn't ask the arrogent jerk, I guess he was trying to be as kind as he knew how to be though.... by providing something I needed.

"Hey, I always forget to ask...what's the name of the man who I owe a dept to?"

"How should I know? It's not my job to keep track of your depts. Get a personal assistant if you want that. You own me though and I don't want to give you my real name as I am not a popular person at the moment. So, let's see.....haha, you can call me Barry." He had the biggest grin on his face I had seen since I had gotten off the boat back in Seyda Neen. This guy must have know about what went on in that town, since he looked like that after saying the guards name.

"What is that grin about? What all do you know?"

"Let's just say that I like to finish unfinished jobs that I approve of, and I don't much like guards." He knew!! And he even had killed at the very least the two guards that had ran away from me...if not more, he was certainly able to kill everyong in the whole town if he had wanted. We had come to a stop at this point we were looking at each other, both trying to read the other's thoughts, neither one being entirely successful.

"So is this going to be a blackmail partnership then?" Benificial indeed! This guy was truly looking worse and worse by the minute, honestly though I don't think I had a chance if the guy was missing a leg at winning in a fight, so I had to avoid that particular route of action in this case.

"Now, Now. I don't want us to do things that way, it makes things run far less smoothly, I want to share fortunes with you, maybe act as a helping, guiding hand in both this region of the world and in your abilities.... You by far have some of the best raising and potential I have ever seen.... there again I have a 'tell no evil, hear no evil, see no evil' policy. Meaning I don't tell of the evils I have commited to attain things, you don't hear about them, and no one sees anyone get hurt. As a side note I firmly believe some of my skills will deminish if I tell their secrets, which one day may be appropriate for you to discover, once I am done using them myself and am ready to accept whatever fate comes my way, but at the moment that time is a ways off yet." We had started walking again.

He was undeniably better at combat than I was so I didn't mind getting some training to help improve my own skills. The prospect of big money was nice too, but I really didn't like this guy, he was already getting on my nerves.

As we neared a shack he started to speak again after we had a long, slightly uncomfortable, and mostly ponderous silence. "Well here we are, you can sleep in here and eat anything you see that is edible. I am going out for a bit to gather up some things that we will be needing before we head off, so just make yourself comfortable and don't go running off and end up lost." More like don't run off and leave you without someone to boss around! a$$hole.

With that I decided that I would put some wood on the fire and snuggle into a warmer place under the blankets and think about what I had just learned over a nice cup-o-heather leaves tea that I crunched up and droped into the water cup on the table. I had some bread to tie me over before I dreamed of a man called Count V and his loyal subjects, all of whom were nameless to me.

___________
I don't think that there are any paragraphs in this one that are a page long so I should be good now. I honestly had no idea where I was going with the dagon fel thing when I put it in, but I think this was a nice peice as it let us see a bit of slower dialogue without having to have a fight or some kind of running from the law, or anything like that.....and of course I had to add a twist at the end....b/c it's me.

*Reels as in the things movies are on....so if it's a nightime reel it is a dream...., and that rhymed......couldn't resist it, sry...but it was funny huh? (reference to Gabriel Iglasias's stand up comedy)

"edit: made 'Barry' less friendly and more annoying and arrogent intentionally*
jchamber
Why didn't anyone mention that I have been spelling Caius's name wrong??? I pronounce it Cassius, so I forgot that wasn't who it's spelled....oh, well now I am going to change it from now on but I really don't intend to go back through a couple dozen pages and edit it out each time...I am going to work it into the storyline so that it seems at though the character was messing it up, but it still be kinda bad......you will just have to forgive me.

ok first thing (after that other thing) I want to do is let you know I modified the last post to make our mysterious man self-named 'Barry' a little more conceited, angry, and overall annoyingly arrogent...I didn't realize who the guy was myself until today, and then I realized who he was, .....like I said I don't where I am going with alot of what I write, but I do have a base background idea-set that I am following when the story makes it's own way there, without any rushing from me

Second thing I wanted to do was post something I meant to post up about a week ago, and am very sorry for having this out of sequence.

*(supposed to be posted a long while ago)
Later on, maybe in a week or two after some posts come up critiqueing and complementing my writing I will post a summary of the main events of chapter 1 so that people who are reading it for the first time when I have like a hundred+ pages can catch up really fast, then go back for all the yummy details.

Summaries are also useful to me as the writer so I can keep the storyline straight in my mind, seperate from all the other ideas I get for this little project, which in a lot of ways has a life of it's own because when I sit down to write the plotline changes before I finish writing a "Part" when compared to my original plan of what I was going to do with the characters. Like this one time, (at band camp, lol) I was going to have Hajima kill the guard that jailed him and decided that it was uncharacteristic of him to be that violent when it was more beneficial in some ways to go with the flow that was set before him. I had also intended for Hajima to take about a single page to go from the strider of Balmora to finding Caius, instead it has taken about three posts or so.

Tell me if you guys LIKE the idea of a posted Summary of each chapter to reference back to for filling in fuzzy details..

Chapter One-The begining

Summary

Day one-
Arrived, seasick and without any memory of my past. I had to go through a very long trial and error period of trying to see what I was good at through the morning. I was entitled a 'wonderer' at my request, seemed to make since b/c I could only wonder about my past. Next I got orders via note from the Emperor to see Mr. Cosades and got my release fee. Once I got out I met someone who lost their ring....often. The problems with local law enforcement were becoming obvious to me. I ran into a drunkard as I went into the inn and was charged an unjust tax that I almost refused to pay and had a small meal before hitting the sack.

Day two-
I awoke naked, and without any possesions, they had been taken during the night. When I looked for them I was knocked out and put in jail for killing the drunkard that had left the bar before I went into the inn. Of course he had probably drank himself to death. Later in the day I met my cell mates and the main guard of the prison.

Two weeks later-
I went back to town killed half the guards to avenge the tax collector that they killed and blamed another man, like how they blamed me for that drunk. I had to leave before I got rid of all the guards but I got the head guy and several underlings, including the taxing jerk, before I had to leave town with some wounds and a noriceable amount of drain on my energy. I then arrived in Balmora and mention a name that comes from no where, instead of Mr. Cosades as my target in town.

Oops, I missed this one last night.

What is there to say? The summary got things all firmly planted in my head again which was useful. And I want to see how this continues. So please update sometime.

UPDATE TIME! Well I don't usually like to cut off with going to sleep or dreams like I did in the last one because it is used as the cut-off point too often IMO, but it seemed the right spot for this particular situation.

Chapter Two- Roots in a Strange Place
Part Three- Parting Woes

"Hey get up, it's time to go. I hope you are slept up for the time being and that you have some sealegs." I was being dragged along the ground, I must really have not wanted to get up, it was still dark and I couldn't have been asleep but a few hours. "get up already, you layabout! I can't carry you all the way there!" He said that as if he thought he was carrying me now. I got my legs under me and started to run and he let go of me.

"What the hell is going on? Why am I getting dragged like a blanket? And where are we off to in such a hurry? ....did you say sealegs?" Oh god...the day I was brought to Morrowind and the horrible seasickness I had when in the boat was all too fresh in my mind.

"That's right we are getting out of here with a boat I killed the owner of...overcharging, insulting, stuck-up lizard n'wah!" He seemed really mad....and I was a little scared, but I couldn't go with this psyco-nut on the sea, where we would be alone for an extended perios of time.

"Sorry man, I have to thank you for getting me out of that place and all...but I can't ride on the sea, I throw up and pass out and can't stand up and "

"You're just making excuses, come on!"

"No really, that stuff all happened when I was brought over from Cyrodiil Prison. I wa.." He had stopped and was looking at me with a mix of curiousity, doubt, and something else I couldn't quite put my finger on.

"I don't remember you, and I was in that same prison not all that long ago....why don't you tell me your prisoner number?"

"I came in after you would have left, I wasn't there long before I was shipped out." I didn't really know what my number way or how long I had been at the prison but that seemed unwise to say to the man who was trying to toke me with him onto the sea.

"Yea you couldn't commit any crimes like murder the way you are, too weak to kill someone unless it is a guard you never met before and thought needed put under because it was best for the local townpeople....It is killers like you that give us killers a weak reputation, I wouldn't have people after me for killing those guards if all killers were like me everyone in this town would have been the ones to get on the boats and left in fear. That's the way it should be. I deserve fear and respect....you don't deserve to have been given the right to kill another person...you just aren't really up to it." I was really worried that he was going to decide that I didn't deserve to live next so I wanted to start back into town, but I didn't want him to think I would be telling people where to find him. I decided that there was another, smater way out of this as he went on rambleing, "and why is it that you are the one that had to get a note to go see Caius?"

This time it was my turn to interrupt him, "What? Did I say anything about that?"

"I went through all the stuff in that building you were in to see what you or they had that might be able to pay for my services, there was a lack of stuff to pay me with."

"Oh, my god! I can't believe you took all that time to do that. No wonder we ran into those guards before we left, they would still be alive if you had just got me and left."

"Hey I was in there for the loot, I didn't even know you were there and I am starting to wish you hadn't been. You know what I can sail that boat myself, I don't want you around all that time...go back to the village and get out my hair." I turned around and "before that though you are going with me to the ship and untie it when I am on the deck."

"Sure, that works for me. Hey you sounded like you know Caius. Where and who is he?"

"Move, Move, Move, he is an aquaintance of mine, we have a mutually beneficial relationship, not too much unlike the kind I had considered letting you have with me. He is in a corner of Balmora, the southwest one. We're here so get busy getting that rope off."

"Hey! There he is!! This way constables!! To the docks, HE'S TRYING TO GET AWAY!!!" Some guy from several hundred feet behind me was yelling.

"Untie that rope and I will make sure you don't get in trouble for what I did, even though it is your fault they aren't running scared of me." He sure wasn't going to let that one go, I am not too sure why he was going to help me out but if I was going to be here that was for the best. These thoughts ceased as soon as I figured out how he was going to prove that I wasn't an accomplice. I had untied the steel chains.....and he pulled out a dagger and threw it at me.
jack cloudy
This is going to hurt. I'll be waiting to read about what he'll find himself in now.

I acctually wrote this when I wrote the last update but I was really tired and didn't realize I had gotten to a good length and cutoff point.....so I had to cut this out and wait a bit before posting it...now

Chapter 2- Roots in a Strange Place
Part Four- The Pain and the Talking

(rejected part names....The Second/Moment after, The New Strange Guy and His Rival, Of Guards and Mages.)

I had started to dodge, but it met me on the way to the way to the ground. Then he threw the next one and cut the rope made from plant fibers, releasing himself from the harbor.

"Are you OK there? Oh, you're an outlander. Did you get a good look at his face? Why did you help him and he betray you?"

"He was holding me hostage and told me that if I didn't untie the iron chains that he would kill me before he left...he seemed scary when he said it and he had blood all over him so I was afraid, I couldn't let him just kill me, I don't even have a weapon to try to protect myself with."

"Hmm well I don't know if I believe that but we have our ways of seeing what is what around here, so I will not question you for now. Just go up to those guards and tell them everything you know about that man."

"OK" I didn't like him and really wished there was some hope that the guards could deal with him, but in reality I didn't see much chance of that. I expect that if I were to tell them where he might be headed, which I didn't know myself in the first place, they would just get killed if they followed him. I had to lie to them to protect them from him. I was glad the dagger he had hit me with hit me in the leg where it did, it was non-lethal and was just enough to let them think he was really trying to hit me.

As I neared the approaching guards I saw they had their weapons out and at this point were looking disappointed that they had failed to get the guy they were looking for. "Go get Najimano, Larry!" The leader instructed his fellow officer. The leader now turned to me, "That's a nasty limp you have there...OH, and a nasty cut as well, let's get you some medicine up at the station...well not really a station so much as a spare building" He seemed friendly enough, allowing me to lean on his shoulder. Najimano was coming toward us. There was something.... but I couldn't quite lay a finger on what was weird about it.

"Thanks for coming Najimano, can you get to that guy out on the water for us?"

"I am afraid that is quite impossible at the moment. He would probably kill me the minute I got near him, and I have a feeling about him....he seems to be able to predict movement and I am not willing to risk it. Besides I am too tired to preform a leap that far today, I have been up for nearly forty hours straight." That is what it was, he was magically moving his body forward while he was walking, so when his feet moved him two steps forward, he had traversed nearly twenty feet forward, it was an uncanny thing to see.

"Well, why are you waisting energy using it to walk to me then? You should have saved up for a useful purpose."

"How I use my magic is my own business, and I am sorry we differ in opinion of what is important but I wanted to give this bleeding man a relief." The blade in my leg appeared in his hand and some salve seemed to have materialized on my wound. "That should be all better in the morning if you are easy on it during your sleep."

"Well, this man was the last person seen with the dangerous criminal you just let escape."

"I am sorry inspector, but didn't you let him get away as well?" The mage had a little smirk on his face.

"You just don't want to get him because you are being lazy, if I could prove it you would be in jail by now!"

"Did you get a jail cell that can hold me? I didn't know you had such resources at your disposal, Captain Habnar." His smirk had grown into a full blown smile of sheer delight at torturing the Nordish captain.

"This prisoner isn't going to get much sleep tonight because he is going to be visiting our interrogation department."

"You shouldn't show so much favoritism to her over your other men, just because she is sleeping with you to climb up the status ladder." At this point the captain let go of me pulled his sword out and pointed it at Najimano ...who disappeared!

"You shouldn't pull that out when you are in town..." I turned around as he said this as I was surprised to hear Najimano's voice behind me. "You could poke someone's eye out." and at that very moment the captain had turned around and scraped my head with the blade causing my weight to shift to my bad leg, which made me fall....but if I had been facing the other way I really could have lost an eye, but I probably would have moved because I would have seen the blade coming. In any case it really shook the guard who immediately put his weapon away.

"Are you OK? I didn't see you there, I didn't mean to hit you."

"I...uhn" I grunted as I tried to get up off the ground.

"I said you should take it easy on that leg. Captain, you have assaulted this man. I am going to have to take him to prevent further guardsman brutality. I take personal responsibility for him, beside your 'investigation department' took a late evening and just went to bed so she is in no condition to work at the moment."

The captain looked furious with the tricky mage, but he nodded and let us go, I didn't have much worry about going with the mage, he seemed more than capable of causing an almost infinite amount of trouble and settled with just messing with the local guard. The captain was out of hearing range before he said anything to me as we walked back to his house.

"So you can sleep at my place, let that leg heal and in the morning we will talk about what you really know about that guy I let get away. What is really interesting about the guy, I am willing to bet, is what I know and you don't."

seriously, if I cried once a week this would have been my allotment for the week....lol. Seriously though, for a guy that was always been told he was lacking in writing (That's me!) by English teachers, that is amazing and probably one of the best complements to hear. I am going to write an update!! Now that is motivation. LOL. Thanks again.

Have you read the "What D&D Character are You?" thread? It says I am evil..... which I am...so don't you think I would prefer to torment you more? muwahahaha I would. But, I am not the worst, so you will know both of them in more detail... but one and then the other...or am I messing with you to torture you even more? muwahahahahah, I am indeed evil haha. anyway you have earned yet another update and I hope it is a little better than the last to be honest...just re-read it and was slightly disappointed compared to some of the other updates...but then again I suspect that I am somehow biased about it.

Chapter Two- Roots in a Strange Place
Part Five- The Telopath, the Teloporter, and the Ex-cons.
(think of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe)

(Part Five name ideas that got passed up: Long talks, Short socks(socks...not so important), Long Talks, Morning Blights (didn't make alot of sense), mindly thoughts and morning slaups (stuff in pig feeding trauphs) (couldn't spell it right and seemed a bit off), Nightime sights and morning lights (didn't make much sense) Point is: I think what I am getting at is that I am either running out of naming ideas or am having a bad day for it. Pressing onward.....)

Najimano and I got to the guys house and he let me sleep in his own bed and he slept on a slide-out bedmat. I had a dream about some kind of flying guy that moved around through the air like he was some kind of Zephyr. Probably was provoked by the guy that was sleeping next to me....freaky guy pops from one place to the next....it's still a weird way to get around....When I woke up I was feeling really good. I felt like I was just getting out of a calming, relieving, weight reducing, clarity granting, understanding imbueing class or something...it was great. Not to mention the fact that my leg was no longer hurt. As I sat up I realized this is the best I had felt since I had arrived in Morrowind. I could smell something great coming from another room. I got up and the bed creaked loudly.

"Hey, you're up! Come on in here and get a warm morning meal. How long has it been since you had one of these?" He turned around from his small fire and looked me in the eyes as I walked into the room and before I could answer he continued. "Oh, I see you can't remember the last time, I am sorry I mentioned it." He turned back to his food that was almost done from the smell of it.

"Um, how did you know that? I know I didn't mention tha..." I was almost done speaking, but Najimano was eager to reply.

"You didn't have to say anything, in fact when I am looking straight at you in good light you don't EVER have to say anything, I am a telepath that can read, project, and grab thoughts from and to people. Of course that is just one thing I am really good at, I also lit this fire with a spell, but no one is impressed with that now are they?" He had a smirk on his face to say that his question was meant to be humorous.

"So how much can you see with that telepethy?"

"I can only see maybe a few thousand feet, just like you." He cracked. "Nah, I know what ya meant. First off though, it's telepathy....not telepethy, heh heh. but yea...I think I can see more of your past than you can, later on we will get back to that.

"Wait you know about my past? What is it? Do you know if there is anyone waiting on me to return? What do I do for work?" It was like I wasn't even talking though because he just ignored me and kept going on with what he was saying. I guess I would leave it alone for a little bit longer until we talked about whatever it was that he wanted to do first.

"And don't forget that I said we would talk about that guy that came into town, killed a few guards and mages, then left town by what was it? Oh, yes....

'holding you hostage and telling you that if you didn't untie the iron chains that he would kill you before he left...' You also mentioned that, and I quote, 'he seemed scary when he said it and he had blood all over him so you were afraid, you couldn't just let him kill you, and you don't even have a weapon to try to protect yourself with' Yea that sounds about the same way you told it to the locals and what you would tell the police too, huh?

"Well it won't work on Natalie, the same way it didn't work on me. She is almost as powerful at using mental reading as I am, the only reason they don't have me do her job is that I don't want to and I am more useful for moving. That is what I am best at, teleportation and relocation. I could work as a guild guide if the mages guild hadn't put a permanent ban on me entering their buildings after I was caught sleeping with the wrong people.....

"I really thought she made the first move though....then again she might have just thought those suductive words really loud in her head.....not sure enough to really properly defend myself, so I do odd jobs for the local guards and Imperial legion. You seem like you might like doing work with the Imperial Legion too."

If I hadn't found a large part of this interesting I would have went back to sleep he had talked so long. "Well it seems like you have everything figured out, I might even check out that recommendation for the Legion since it was from someone of your extrodinary position of clarity of vision." Urrgg, why was I feeling like I was sucking up to this guy? I didn't really have any reason to...then I figured out what I had been subconciously thinking... this guy might be able to help me out in more ways than one, most important was my memory, then there was the local law enforcement too.

"Well, like I said..... You need to be able to trick Natalie and you and I are going to talk about that man, sorry I got off topic a bit there....I have a bad habit of talking about myself too much sometimes since I know others can't know as much about me as I know about them."

"Ok, what can I do about Natalie? I don't know what else to say and I already said that to the guy at the shoreline, who would have told the police by now."

"Well, I am mentioned that I am the best telepath around here, and that I can project thoughts, so that is what we're gonna do. You are going to have it in your head thet that is what happened...in other words I am going to give you the memory you described to them....you will feel fear and it will be as though it were real, but as soon as you are done seeing her I will get that fake memory out of your head." He was looking at me once again and I could tell he was reading my reaction both by body language as well as telepathy.

"I..."

"Don't worry I can't remove any real memories from you, in fact that is going to be a bit of a problem with Natalie. I will need you to focus on the fake memory when she is examining you because both will show up otherwise. We will practice it before you leave the house just to make sure you can do it." That was uncanny regardless of whatever magic it might be. I did feel better knowing that he couldn't make me forget everthing yet again though...and he wouldn't lie about something like that.....If he was that kind of person that guard wouldn't dislike him because Nejimano would implant memories of good times together or something similar.

"Well, I just hope we can get it together before the guards come to get me." He had turned back to stir the food.

"Oh they aren't coming for you. They will wait for me to bring you to them. Breakfast is done."

"Smells delicious, what is it?"

"Well, I figure that it's better if you don't know. I want to talk about that guy that you met yesterday now. I know that he saved you and that he was really skilled as a fighter and that you don't really much like him...so now that that is out of the way....I want to tell you that he came to this contenent the same way you did, but only a few months ago. He passed by me before he had done anything wrong in this town as I was walking to the market. I didn't get a long look at him but I saw his eyes looking right into mine for a long couple seconds before out gazes parted. I learned a lot about him and you deserve to know as much as possible since you two have almost no chance of not running into each other again."

muwahahahaha, the torture will continue, roflmao, oflmao, oflol.

I hope you enjoyed that bit of info about Najimano though. I can't have you not hungry for more after all.....

It is finals week so I am having some trouble getting the hours of time I need to write and the inspiration is also in short supply due to overwork and undersleep, but I will still continue with this story b/c I feel like I would be less tormenting by not supplying more info that you want to know more about, rofl. But seriously, I really am having trouble writing.

I would like some help with part names or I might start just leaving them numbered. I also would like to know what you thought of the rejected part names, but .......now.....UPDATE!!!

Chapter two(which seems never ending to me)- Roots in a Strange Place (Which seems really inappropriate now since this guy has been all over during this chapter, unable to stay anywhere long enough to get roots anywhere.)

Part 6 (I think, mighta doubled up on one or two)-

As we ate our breakfast I learned that the "Barry" fellow was actually named Bobdop (Bob - dahp' , like the o in stop), he is reporting to Caius on orders of the emperor, and was a ruthless man that had no compasion for anyone or anything that didn't have him in it. We couldn't peice together why he had been let out of the Imperial prison in the first place instead of being put to death...but that must be one of the mysteries that would be locked in the mind of the emperor.

"Well what does this have to do with this me then?" I was quite puzzled.

"I am unsure, but what he said about needing people for his plans to work makes me very nervous. I really don't want to see what he plans to do that he would need help for, considering the source."

"Ok now that we have talked about him and finished breakfast, let's talk about my past that I can't remember."

"Well, I don't want to tell you too much, like stuff that you aren't ready for...and regardless of what you and every other amnesia affected person thinks...you really don't want years of memories poping into your head in less than a month... it just is't processable. With that said I can tell you that you are Hajima, which you already knew....start off slow right?"

"No, get to it!" I was getting impatient this guy had been denying me my own history for too long since its been nearly an hour since I had woken up and found out he could let me know something more about myself."

"Ok, ok. You were put in prison for trying to kill the Emperor, maybe he is sending you to this Caius fellow to institute a crueler punishment.

Ok that took over an hour just for that bit and I don't have the time or the right mindset to write right now....I can't concentrate for longer than one or two lines at a time....well I will post an update soon, maybe tomorrow night around midnight EST
