Yes, as it was a single sentence. If you added what you were listening to and described it or simply elaborated deeper into multiple sentences, than it would not have been spam. And my name isn't Mr. Red, its Dr. Red tongue.gif.

I'm listening to the entire album Guero by Beck, and will soon switch over to Guerolito. Two great albums that really do Beck justice.

Posting one sentence posts is not allowed here, as it is considered spam. This is a forum where people come to discuss music they are listening to, not come to gain a post count.

I'm listening to (and learning) Rage Against the Machine's Testify, which is one of they're best songs. It's riff is simple and yet beautiful and the solo is astonishing as no one uses Wa pedals like Rage. The riff is easy to learn, but  I lack a proper Wa pedal and a whammy bar.

Soon me and some friends will attempt to record a song we wrote, so I'll be listening to that ASAP smile.gif. Well, it lacks proper lyrics, but then again, who needs them?

Well kiddies I'm listening to Mr. Moustache by Nirvana. It's a fairly good song. I like About A Girl more, and Moist Vagina is good too. However, it's really all about your personal taste. >_>

Listen to master Red....he knows what to do.....do not...provoke the dark side moderators...tongue.gif

As for the record, I'm listening to my custom playlist, cinsisting of a little of Aerosmith, and rock, the occasional metal....and classic.

Hehe....but my favourite type of music is actually the slow romantic ones...hehe. wub.gif

I've always been a sucker for a well-written, slow, romantic love song. For the record, I'm listening to the entire "Ziggy Stardust" album, which was written by the gods and played by a legend. If you haven't heard it, go out into the brave, wide world and find the album or pray to Vehk that the album finds its way to you tongue.gif.

I'm listening to Frank Sinatra's The Summer Wind. I've enjoyed listening to him since I was three, when my father used to put vinyl discs of his in the old pick-up, which is now gathering dust, in a box, somewhere. When I wanted to listen without him (he had an infuariating habit of trying to immitate Sinatra), I used to try every disc in his collection, making a general mess.

Since then, I've grown fond of jazz classics and now I'm listening to them whenever I get tired of the noise on the TV. My school colleagues view me as being 'weird' because of my musical tastes, but I couldn't care less. cool.gif

Been listning to some Symphony X again, this time mostly 'Accolade II' smile.gif

Just a great song in my opinion, very nice listning to and hear the story...

QUOTE(Symphony X - Accolade II)
On a cold and misty night,
a ring of torches light the hallowed ground
where his father's laid to rest

In the reflection of a sword
he sees his destiny and he swears up to the sky -
"You will not have died in vain"

On the field - with sword and shield
amidst the din of dying man's wails
War is waged - and the battle will rage
until only the righteous prevail

From the shadows comes a man,
returning to his land - Winds of change
taint the sweet smell of home

And all around him, he can see
the pain and misery
this tyrant's reign is through
"I will stand and fight... Will you?"

A heart of gold pumps within his metal skin
A noble line he carries on

On the field - with sword and shield
amidst the din of dying man's wails
War is waged - and the battle will rage
until only the righteous prevail

I wish to stay...to be here with you
You were my strength...How can I go on?

On the field - with sword and shield
amidst the din of dying man's wails
War is waged - and the battle will rage
until only the righteous prevail

Ooh, Accolade II, one of my favourites. I think Symphony X continues to do what Led Zepplin did to music, which is turn it to beautiful poetry with unforgettable instrumentals. It really makes me see the diamonds among coal when I hear bands like SX, giving me hope in what seems to be a dying couple genres.

I'm listening to the power rock intro of the DOOM series, and I simply love it. I like how video-games are really evolving music-wise, and you can see this listening to the soundtracks of games like Halo and Oblivion.

Ha! You have been captivated!

Anyways, I'm listening to 'Dressed to Kill' by none other than Symphony X. It's off a really old album called The Damnation Game, and has somewhat low sound quality, but it's still an excellent song with a catchy chorus.

Passed a CD store a short while back and was immediately seduced by soft, sultry, slightly airy female jazz voice. It turned out to belong to Emily-Claire Barlow on an album called "Like a lover". I'd never heard of her and don't happen across much jazz but bought the album on the spot. If one relishes a quieter mood and soft lighting, she might fit in nicely.

On the point about whether music posts fit within a gaming website, I like to think gamers are also multidimensional people who may sometimes want to share a bit more widely with other gamers. And clear headings make it easy to know whether a thread fits ones personal interest.

For the time I've been watching through all my Foo Fighters videos. Have a couple from the concert they had in Dublin where I think I can see Wolfie trying to climb into the stage and hug Dave tongue.gif Now I'm watching the video for No Way Back which was released a week or two ago, don't remember...

Listening to the Yeah Yeah Yeah Song by the Flaming Lips and watching the making of video (and then watching the making of the making of video, which seriously excists. Ever since I heard them for the first time I knew they were nothing more than breathtakingly innovative. Every one of their songs is a story in its own way, and some cds are long stories told in wonderful songs. If you want to get into The Flaming Lips, listen to Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.

Wow Kora ... your listening to Frank Sinatra? Wrap your brain around this .... we just heard on the radio mention of Marilyn Monroe's death being too young to get definitive commentary on from the media.
Anyway, my hubby Cain said "you know why she really died?" And I said "yeh, she knew too many Kennedys." But he said "yeh, kinda ... she was the last link. The mob murdered Jack n Bobby and she knew too many of their secrets. It was the mob who got the Kennedys in office, through connections of the father, Joe Kennedy, and immediately when in office, the Kennedys began persecuting the mob - so vendetta was the card played.

Turns out it was Frank Sinatra who introduced Marilyn to the Kennedys. Old Blue Eyes sang and acted like a mobster along with Dino & Joey & the other Rat Packers, but they were just a musical embellishment of mob values. greenwizardsmile.gif

But I really like Frank Sinatra, he used to fly in by helicopter onto the roof of the hotel next to the Garden State Race Track in Jersey where I used to work and they would seal off the entire top floor for him and his henchmen. Then he would copter over and sing at the Latin Casino and copter home again to sleep in our penthouse.
Also, they say he was so fiesty because he was stillborn after the midwife had to use tongs to remove him, in a homebirth in Hoboken, NJ but his Italian grandmother refused to let her first grandson die, so she held the lifeless infant under the cold running tap water of the sink and rubbed him into life! If you ever wondered about the slight scars on his face, they were the tong marks... wacko.gif

Thanks to long hours of listening to Faith No More I checked out a band called Mr.Bungle. Thats what Im listening to at the moment, well Im still waiting for the other two cd's to arrive yet.

Its certainly something different, thats for sure. Id say its the first time Ive listened to music which is interesting to listen to and funny. Maybe it loses a little of the interest because its more funny than what I usually listen to, but its still good stuff.

The wrist-Mushroomhead. I was listen to a slightly different version of this in the car a couple of hours ago. Very good song.

myself, i have been listening to a lot of The Doors recently (i'm a sucker for morrison)
particularly the album, and song, The Soft Parade, which tends to move through several stages of music before its over.

i also love Led Zeppelin, favorite band of all time. Just read something today about the origin of "Zoso"..

The music I listen to varies depending on various things. If I'm in a mood, I listen to something punk and upbeat - New Found Glory, My Vitriol, Green Day, Teen Idols, Less Than Jake. If I'm mocking my profession, I listen to Weezer. Currently though, I've been listening to a whole bunch of stuff. The Killers, REM, James Blunt and Jack Johnson for the chillout section, and Alanis Morisette (Jagged Little Pill only), Alishas Attic and Meredith Brooks for angry, angsty feminine revenge rock, which is an all-too common occurance, but rarely done well. Though when it is... nice.

Just bought another Dream Theater album entitled Falling Into Infinity.

It's quite a change from the Dream Theater norm; it's a lot more relaxed and mellow compared to their other albums. I'm enjoying it a lot.

Weeeeell... even though I'm not currently listening to anything, I can report that I have had this song in my head all day long and I'm trying really hard to get rid of it, but it's not working. It's the intro music for Fallout 2 - Louis Armstrong's "A Kiss To Build A Dream On". It's a great title, but I'm getting really tired of it now. I also checked out some of his other stuff but that didn't seem by far as great to me.

Right now I'm listening to distorted bass from my ignorant little worm of a neighbour, who plays Bangra, Drum and Bass, and aweful music at incredibly loud volumes, day or night, whilst he chats with his idiot friends.

So currently all I'm getting is the dull thud of bass and the occasional word from Shaggy's "Angel", Aqua's "Barbie Girl", and Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On". Three nauseating tracks, made worse by the insanity of his bass system.

Yes, he's one of those people who has a bass system in the boot worth more than the car itself.

The Police never solve anything. All they do is tell you they are coming, turn up 7 hours later, write a few things down, make some rather rude inquires into your personal life as though you are the one that is breaking the law, before telling you there is nothing they can do, and deciding to go off and try and catch someone speeding so they can arrest them for kicks.

The number of times I've been assaulted because of race is unbelievable, same with all my friends. But the Police have proven that they are completely impotent when it comes to solving it; I doubt this would be any different.

Anyway, he's stopped for the moment. So now I'm listening to "Kehoe" by Less Than Jake. Perfect for getting upbeat.

The UK. Though it doesn't matter; everywhere I've been to the Police forces are just ineffective. Either they're uncaring, on the side of their friends and just plain ignore the little people, mad with power, or so swamped by all the crime reports that they don't know what to do.

My local police force I've found to be rude, unhelpful, unreliable, unpunctual, unsympathetic, uncaring, and decidedly on one side of what has become a significant political issue here, mainly because of popularist opinion. I live in a city that is tearing itself apart due to racism - and it's only going to get worse because the government refuses to acknowledge that racism is a two-way issue, rather than a one-way traffic of hatred. It really makes the person who doesn't want to be involved the victim.

Anyway, this isn't a politics thread, and I'd be more than happy to whinge about the Police, racism, and that sort of thing on some other thread. Besides, I'm moving in a few weeks anyway.

Instead, I shall just say that I am currently listening to "Castles in the Air" by Don Mclean. Very nice chillout. Afterwards I'll listen to the sound track to "Garden State".

Now now everybody, this is the "Now listening to thread", not the "talk about local authorities and be generally off-topic thread" (I don't know how you people got those two confused). I don't want to see this place closed.

I'm listening to All Apologies by Nirvana while at the same time trying to play along with it. A bit of a confusing opening when you first try to learn it, but after playing a few times you find it much easier. Then I'll switch over to The Will Always Negate Defeat (the W.A.N.D.) by the Flaming lips. If you want to listen, they have their entire new album and some of their past songs on their website here. Anywaaaay... I've been working - manual bloody labor - all day in open, scorched by the sun, and I now feel beaten - so, appropriate music at the moment is Helmet & House of Pain - Just Another Victim [from the unforgetable, groundbreaking "Judgement Night" Movie Soundtrack]:

QUOTE(Lyrics)
Victimized
But you're in bed
Stumble out
And run dead
If it ever paid
To self start
Enviroment
Make you smart

Just another victim
Just another victim
Just another victim, kid

I heard it once
But not before
Begging off
And livin' bored
My hands are tied
Webbed feet again
Fell in behind
And claim us dead

Just another victim
Just another victim
Just another victim
Just another victim

Cast this
In spite of truth
Give it up
I'll lie to you
Blame and flame this
Turnid stat (???)
Pointed finger
You fall apart

Just another victim
Just another victim
Just another victim
Just another victim

You played yourself
Now you're pointin' fingers
How i've robbed and raped ya
Bruised and scraped ya
But those are just lies
Cause in your eyes
You've been victimized
It's how you size it up
You disguise it up
And try to make it look real
To cover up the low self esteem you feel
Introspection
And afterthought
Swimmin' in guilt's your favorite sport
But now you're caught up
In the undertow,
You never knew a man
Could sink so low
But now you know
Cause you're John Doe
In a black bag
A tag on your toe
I built the House
I felt the Pain
You're victimized
But got no one to blame

Just another victim
You're just another victim, kid
Just another victim
You're just another victim, kid

Holy diver
I'm a surviver
Feeling like DeNiro
In Taxi Driver
With Jodi Foster
And Harvy Keitel
Looks like I'm walkin'
Through a livin' hell
So spark that owl
And I'll get lifted
Feelin the effects
Of what my spliff did
Cause I'm gifted
I read Sun Tzu
I bought a gun too
So you'll never come too
The weight of the world
Ridin' on my shoulders
Cause I'm a soldier
I thought I told ya

You're just another victim
You're just another victim, kid
You're just another victim
You're just another victim, kid

...but, really, you have to hear the song to understand the mood,it's energy and fury.

Right now, I'm listening to some music that reminds me of my homeland. To be more specific, I'm listening to Crvena Jabuka (translated ''Red Apple'') and the song ''Nekako s' proljeća'' (roughly translated ''In Springtime''). It somehow fits me, because now it's spring, and I'm really starting to remember my old friends! ohmy.gif

All of the Right On album, to be exact. I'm not entirely sure what the genre would be called, but it's great music. I guess it's a bit of synthie pop mixed with some kind of techno and uh...other stuff. If I had known at the time I first listened to some of his stuff that he was one of the Love Parade ™ people, I probably wouldn't have given it a chance. But it's really surprisingly good.
