Now this is the revival of "The coffee-shop".....and I will point out that it is very important that you follow the rules below! If not, this kind of threads will never occur again!

~Alexander:

We had intended the coffee shop to be a nice place where people could talk about their daily activities and such, kinda like the Lurkers Lair on the Official Forums.

It didn't quite turn out that way though, people have been taking advantage of their freedoms in here, there has been a lot of spamming and even some flaming. We will not tolerate that any longer.

So unfortunately we've had to decide to increase the rules for this thread. Of course the normal forum rules still apply, but we'll elaborate here.:

1. No spamming.

We consider double posting and posting posts with only a few words to be spam. If you do that your post will be deleter or moved, do it too often and you might receive a warning for it.

We also consider chit-chat spam. This forum has a special chat channel for chatting, you're welcome to go there, and chat with other members or with the staff as we're always there, doing it in here is not allowed.

The address to that chatroom is:
W4O chatroom

And for assistence to use a chat like this, I recommend contacting one of the Administrators.

2. No discussion of accounts or warnings.

There shall be no more discussion about members, about accounts, about how many warnings you've gotten or anything like that.

3. No trolling.

No posting of random nonsense, no posting of irrelevant things, no posting the same thing over and over just to get it noticed, no swearing or flaming.

4. No religion or politics.

No discussion about religion or politics is to be had in these threads. If you want to discuss religion or politics, please do make another thread, or if another such thread already exists, please post in it.

If you have a question about the rules of the forums, feel free to ask it to either a Global Moderator or an Administrator.

If you're unsure if something is fit to post here, it might be. Again best to ask a Global Moderator or Administrator.

If you're wondering how we think a Lair or the Coffee Shop should look like, what we do allow, then I recommend taking a look at the Lurkers Lair at the Official Forums.

On a side note, if you're the one making the new shop, then please include these rules in the first post.

On behalf of the Wating4Oblivion Administrators and Global Moderators,

minque

Good to see this Jem running again! I thought I would have to wait until next morning to have some tea and cookies, but when in Rome. *Drinks cookies and Eats tea*

So, may I ask what Flyff is? I've been disconected from this place ever since I got my copy of AOEIII. [advertisment] Great game by the way, real time eater. Man I love shooting grenadiers off of custom made, rediculously large hills and into water [/advertisment].

DoomedOne
flyff is a run of the mill mmorpg with an added twist, by lvl 20 you can fly.

It's really horrible now though, I'm lvl 19, but all the experience giving quests are over, all I can do now is dedicate to a good 3 hours to leveling before I can hop on that broom.

im eagerly awaiting my new transcription of worlds of warcraft. im going to start from new this week. anyone here playing on german server "antonidas"?

Hey cool, the Coffee Shop is back.

Nice to hear about the different games you all are playing! Iīm a total Morrowind-fanatic...but!!!! I just bought Neverwinter Nights....will probably get it at the end of the week.....So Iīm looking forward to try that out.....ehrrmm I just might need a lilīhelp from you guys who probably already beaten it totally!

Itīs getting rather cold here in Sweden so itīs a sheer luck all our remaining NPP:s are running smoothly.....a lot of electrical power will soon be needed!

I play Warcraft III: Frozen Throne on internet nowadays, until I get my hands on Oblivion happy.gif

It hasn't been snowing here yet, but the temperature has dropped way below zero, so next time it rains, it should be snow... (now that was a confusing sentence, wasn't it?)

NPP? No Problem Particles? National Park Police?

Anyways, We here in Ontario have been facing cold weather too, I guess we do share alot of trade winds and are at about the same longitude. How is Sweden during the summer? I heard it good year round but I often wonder about how people who live in countries my family has visited feel about their own countries.

I've played some NWN.

Druids are wicked fun. Esspecially when turned into a minotaur with the gore cranked all the way up. Bring down your axe and BAM! Enemy explodes! devilsmile.gif

And running around as a Wolf is fun. happy.gif Or as a Kobold or Drow or Lizarddude... Mmm, shapeshifty goodness. cool.gif

I got stuck in Port Llast though, can't find all the Werewolves. >_<

Oh...and the Werewolves look fugly. indifferent.gif

Just like the good old days . . when me and my W4O buddies would walk down to the coffee shop, grab ourselves a chair, lean back and talk about absolutely nothing important, but everything interesting.

biggrin.gif

Anyway, recently Civilization 4 was released. I don't really want to go out and buy it because I found Civilization 3 to be a disappointment in comparison to Civ 2. Does anyone have any experiences playing Civ. 4 that they would like to share?

We get that over here too, the weather isn't usually very hot but a nice cool breezy weather with lots of big fluffy clouds. Another question from a clueless canuck, I heard some movie theatres show movies with English translations or in English with Swedish translations. Is that the case for some movie theatres or is that just foreign films? My mother went to Sweden a while ago and said the movie she saw was in English with Swedish subtitles.

Civ 4 is a good play, but only if you have a laptop IMO.

I remeber playing civ2-3 on meh laptop; on the road, on the plane (well sorta), on the train.. Just wherever, it was enough to last you for those 4 hours or so..

Civ 4 is better in all aspects, but I still see it as a laptop game. Heh, prob wouldn't run on meh old laptop anyways.

-=- AOE3

If I can conjure up any money I'll buy AOE but at the present time I (stupidly) bought COD2, CIV4 and RTW:BI (not to stupid of a desicion). I played the COD2 demo on teh 360 and I cursed at myself for spending $50 to get it for my computer when It looks hella better on the new box.

Oh well, I guess I'll figure something out..

BTW.. w00t (And I think Dantrag and Megil can agree) We just got a lil rain out here in good ol' north carolina. Were going through a drought and such and we need all the water we can get. $500+ water fines aren't cool..

I just got home from a Trans Siberian Orchestra Concert.

Wow. Those guys are amazingly talented. Anyone heard (of) them?
Megil Tel-Zeke
Who hasn't heard of the Trans Siberian Orchestra! I have personally not gone to a concert but I am aware that they are incredibly amazing and will one day go see them in person.

As to the Rain YAY!!! well kind of.... since the campus flooded in the process, nothing quite like walking t work through 2" of water and rain pouring down with no umbrella.

Thanksgiving Break starts today happy.gif YAY! that means I get to go hom and do laundry... erm I mean visit the fam. lol. but first I am visiting my friends up at state and then coming down to charlotte tomorrow O.o Only two more classes to go and I am home free, oh and I promised to help close down the coffee shop at 2 sad.gif.

Yes we have subtitles on every foreign movie on tv or at the cinema. In theatres they usually translate the play....

Personally I prefer subtitling to dubbing, because itīs pretty annoying when you watch a Clint Eastwood-movie on german tv and the guy speak GERMAN!!!! ohmy.gif

Hehe, that must be annoying. Over here we have Spanish and French channels with dubbing and I have a sneaking suspition that there are only five French dubbing actors on earth. You here the same five voices on everything.

I remember watching Iron Monkey with english dubbs and after about three minutes, I turned it off. I would much rather have subtitles that promote literacy and bi-lingualism than aweful dubbings.

Hmmm lets see, I got insulted a lot today, I have a ton of homework, I have a headache, I'm skipping school tomorrow and everyone thinks I'm gay but I'm not. I hope everyone's life is better then mine. Oh yeah I forgot about my story and I'll probably continue it tomorrow, still a little etchy on ideas for chapter four though, I'm done with the introductory crap.

Heh I wish I was one of those lucky kids that managed to get xbox 360, my parents don't really think I need it, (which I don't) so it is all about me for funding. I have enough in my bank, but I don't want to use too much of it... decisions decisions..

I've been playing a lot of Virtual Kill (Grand Theft Auto III) in between writing sessions. That game is great if I want to sit down for 20 minutes and cause chaos or play for a couple hours and hack away at the storyline.

I just finished (and posted) the last chapter of The Last Slave so now I'm working on a novel. Oh, and Bethesda said if I removed all references to their game I can publish my stories in a book, I'm still debating wheather or not I'll do that.

Now that i came back to Worlds of Warcraft, after months of absence, i have to recognize, that a lot hast changed. Gone are the days, where scattered members of the horde grouped for a quest against the alliance.

I abandoned my lvl54 rogue and started from scratch, in hope, i could get the old feeling again - but after some days of repeating some old, well known, quests, i had to realize, that those days are gone forever.

sweet agony.

those were good times, really good times.

i just hope, oblivion will be out soon.

I was joking, I didn't bother with the 360, didn't seem worth it though I know a guy who bought two just so he could sell one.

PC all the way.

Oh, and in other news, I got in an argument over abortion with a friend (not on purpose, I was talking about a satirist during the Irish Potato famine and Jonathin Swift and he used that as a segway to present his opinion on abortion) and I provoked him to calling me an insensitive hamster. It was great, especially insce I don't even have that strong of an opinion on abortion. I can go one way an support murder, or the other way and support invasion of privacy. I can't logically win.

And the best part is the entire argument started from another argument of Steven Colbert. He said the Colbert Report was Daily Show Jr. I said they aren't alike at all, Jon Stewet stays real, and his humor comes from taking perspective on stories as an average person. He keeps it real. Steven Colbert is 100% satire, and I love satire, so I love Steven Colbert's show. That went into Jonathan Swift because during the Irish Potato Famine the Catholic Church was still running a campaign against birth control despite the fact that all they were doing was creating a giant infant population in a starving country. Swift's suggestion was they eat all the babies.

Well I haven't even written the first chapter of my novel yet but now that I have both of my fan fics done it should go faster. I'm not sure if you've read anything by Frank Peretti, but my book is kind of like 'THis Present Darkness' only it's set in medieval times (when else?).

If I do publish my fan fics it will be a self publishing effort through lulu.com. I still haven't made up my mind on that yet.

Hehe, doesn't it get annoying when people launch arguements out of no where. Sometimes people I talk to take a conversation like, say, books, turn that into a conversation about the Giver, start talking about euphanasia (sp?) even though I try to go back to the book we started on and then guilt trip me on my views on abortion.

Anyways, hazaa for the Daily Show and the Colbert Report! Sad that a show that used to be followed with puppets that make phone calls is probably the only reliable tv news source. Don't forget though, watch out for bears. I don't trust them at all tongue.gif .

Heh, I remember downloading that conversation. It's great though, tons of pundits have been saying how horrible it is that the younger generation uses the Daily Show as their source of news. What they fail to realize, though, is that if it weren't for the daily show a lot of these people wouldn't be watching news at all.

I kind of see it as a filter though, like "Keepin' it real, DC style"
