It will probably be a type of Daedric Prince or a big firey demon of come kind, being 'Oblivion' and all. Or they could do a Tribunal kind of twist where the good, respected guy is the bad guy. Maybe the Emperor rises from the dead but then he'd just be a crispy corpse that a Tavern owner with a sturdy shovel could deal with.
Hm...

How's this for a plot twist: Sean Bean is not the rightful heir. He killed the real heir and took his place (come on, haven't you seen any of his movies? He always betrays the main characters). The rightful heir? Bruce Willis. BUT, Bruce Willis, having been killed by Sean Bean, is now a ghost and can only be seen by Haley Joe Osmont. However, Haley Joe is actually a robot child in search of the mother who forsook him, and the player character has to track him down for the duration of the game until he's finally found hiding in the Matrix. Then you fight, like, a grizzly bear or something, I dunno.

I hope that it is either an unexpected or new Daedra. I would be ver dis appointed if Lord Dagon was the last boss. I have a bad feeling that he will.
Come to think of it the last boss might not be a daedra. Terence stamps' character is supposed to be the villain and he is a mortal from a different line of kings.
Who knows who the last boss will be. I just hope it is original.

I think the final boss of Oblivion will be Silann

Well, this thread is pretty old now so some people already know through spoilers, imdb.com and the like.
I wont say anything, but I think it's what Terence Stamp was called in for. And it IS a Deadric... Obviously...

From what information I've seen of Sillan he seems to be a joke. Honestly, I don't think Bethesda would leak out the name of the Final boss. I can't imagine a more stupid move a gaming company could do. But, because the Oblivion realm you will be visiting over the course of the MQ is licensed property to Mehrunes Dagon, I bet you'll get to see him get angry and freak out a few times. How cool would it be to enter a Daedric Portal and to see a giant sized Mehrunes Dagon throwing Havok-Physics enabled Imperial troopers around? Pure pwnage! But jokes aside, since Oblivion itself is a very cliche' realm in this game, I don't think the final boss will be more original. Mehrunes Dagon has been done before mind you, way back in Battlespire.

It's the only thing that we have at the moment so thats what im believeing.
anyways, they could have released the name of the final boss in hopes that people like you would not believe it at all by saying

and therefore that would eliminate (in your mind) the suspicions of silann being the final boss.
summary: bethesda wants you to think that silann isn't the final boss by saying that he
is so that they can surprise the heck out of people like you who believed that he wasn't the final boss.
EDIT: congratulations if you understood what i said

Bethesda didn't write about Silann, our pals that run w4o.com did, and they did it as an april fool's joke nearly a year ago.

and how do you go about suspecting that this is a trick by W4O? do you have evidence like a quote from stargelman or epy? if so i'd like to see this evidence.

in any case I choose to think that no matter what anyone says....that person maybe be the high guy that everyone sees but there is someone even more sinister entity behind the scenes that is pulling the strings. As the readers of my fanfic would know...I am a master of surprise.... so if I were them......it would be....(wouldn't you like to know) I give you one letter- 'a' but I warn you... lots and lots and lots of words have the letter 'a' in them

It's not even worth giving you a quote, look up all the big words you don't understand on that page about Silann on google. Geeze, this thread is a year old, everybody figure it out, give it a rest.

I'll drop you a hint: that particular page was posted April 1st 2005.
This was said by Stargelman in the other Final Boss thread. Here's your proof! It would have been so cool if we could have visited other Daedric realms, not just Mehrunes Dagon's realm. That's too cliche'! On the other hand I would have loved to see Sheogorath's realm.

Don't be a freakin' jerk. You just insulted both my intelligence and the other posters by saying that there would be big words that we would not understand. I am not some kind of pre-teen retard and you have not used any words now or ever, that I have seen, that I am unfamiliar with. However, I will be impressed if you can find this one offline....gaudy lycathrope, the first is an adjective and the second is a rare noun and yes, I did spell it perfectly. They are both real English words and I and have been around for decades and decades.
Also, thread age has little to nothing to do with it's validity as a topic and the moderators and admins forbid duplicate threads regarding the same topic.
Third, my previous post is valid regardless of what has been said by anyone else previous to my posting it. The reason for this is in the nature of the independent catagloration of it into a series of thought that is heterotypic, and if you don't know what that means then you shouldn't be telling people to go look up words they don't understand, especially when they understand everything that is said.

Wow, first time I;ve ever gotten a private message telling me to respond. You mkdsunderstood, read the april fools joke in the daedra section on the W4O website, there will be a lot of large obscure words you do not understand about Silann, look them up. It will make you feel stupid for posting what you just did and I'm sorry for that, but the developers never said anything about Silann because it wasn't their joke, it was our W4O guys.
here is your developer quote, and those are all the big words you need to look up:
"Description:
Until recently, the existance of Silann was a closely guarded secret. It has only been recently leaked from sources inside Bethesda Softworks that Silann - not Mehrunes Dagon - will be the final enemy -or boss- of TES4: Oblivion. It is rumored that he is of pocillovy nature and likes to commit gruesome acts of tetrapyloctomy and sternutation. "
see, the April Fool's joke can be finished now (after nearly a year). Let Silann die you n00bs.

You mean Mehrunes Dagon, right? Malacath just wants to dispense with an enourmous injustice, albeit in a completely wrong manner. I think he's actually leaning more towards good alignment.

If we take it that way, Malacath isn't even a Daedric Prince. I don't even see why he should be the final boss. No reasoning behind it.

Spoiler in this post.
Mehrunes Dagon, at a giant size, attacks the Imperial City. You and the heir, Martin, go into the Temple of The One as Dagon rips off the roof. Martin tells you he's sorry and he won't be around to help rebuild Tamriel. He steps into the circle of dead Dragonfires and smashes the amulet of kings. He is covered by a great gout of flame as they are relit. He disappears, replaced by an avatar of Akatosh. A giant golden dragon. He and Mehrunes Dagon fight to the death, and Dagon is banished back to Oblivion. He, however, is gone as well. There is no emporer now.
Don't believe me? Check the official forums under the Oblivion Cheats & Hints section.

Well...since There is no way any from bethesda would actually tellsuch a thing...and since none of us have completedthe game yet...there is actually no way we can say thet is true.
Sorry, I just dont believe you...then the whole point of the game is gone...we have to close the gates of oblivion...but only the emperor can do that...if he Dies...the daera will keep coming untill there is no tamrielleft....use common sense sometimes...it can be usefull.
