Vaska-> Vivec-> Arena Area

Vaska was walking into the Arena storage when he remembered that a meeting was going on about something or another and silently cursed under his breath. Vaska turned around and found his sack that he had fidden in the area and changed cloths out of sight.

*cue Stauros*

Stauros Stepped out and hurried to the council chamber and and tooka seat near Isaarin, "Sorry I'm late" He wispered over to him, "Did I miss anything exciting?"

Megil-Council Chamber, New Vivec

Megil stared coldly at the complaints from below,  he carefully watched Isaarin, and the other leaders of the houses.  The reaction was as he had expected.  he would elt them calm down before proceeding.

"Now calm down everyone.  The legion's power is limited,  only until they can return to the mainland will their saction be allowed on Vvardenfell.  New Vivec is currently discussing terms with the empire to send the last of the legion to the mainland, removing them permanently from the island.  Vivec is just the first step for their passage home.  it shall not be a permanent home to the legion."

Amili, New Vivec

Amili stood up and glared at Megil. "The Legion has no place on Vvardenfell, and by allowing them here, you only make more enemies."

"You already have one," she hinted. "I wouldn't want to make two more if I were you."

"You say you want this city to be a neutral area, but you allow the Legion more rights than the Houses. I see no protection for House members, and I see no protection for the Morag Tong members." She continued, "The Morag Tong are the only ones keeping Vivec from being a battleground, and the Houses are a far greater force in Vvardenfell than the Legion; I would think twice before crossing even one of them, and here you are angering three in one phrase. I have no problem with the Legion members staying here, but what gives them more right to protection than the Telvanni? Or even the Redoran and Hlaalu?"

She sat down, not taking her eyes off of Megil.

Isaarin whispered the to Stauros, "Megil has just allowed the Legion a safe haven in New Vivec. You're not more than a minute later than myself."

Wred stared coldly at Amili as she spoke. In his mind he created his own rebuttles, The Morag Tong don't need protection, they're assassins; The Houses control the world while the Legion is being hunted every where else in Vvardenfel... including this city; They deserve protection because of their plight, at least until they can return home. Wred felt horribly guilty now for murdering legionnaires in the city, the one place left they thought they could be safe. It was not supposed to be him, that did this sort of prejudiced stuff. When he was a child, he was open, and accepting, and stood for the rights of all creatures, and had morality. What have I become? he asked himself, looking anxiously to Isaarin.

"Funny to see half an intelligent word come out of her mouth," Isaarin joked to those around him.

Falx Albarnias
New Vivec, Council Chambers

Falx stood up to the alligations on Megil's behalf, already his anger was flaring, "My dear lady. Allow me to introduce myself." He took a modest bow and look at the crowd and finally at her.

"The names Captain Falx Albarnias, Knight Errant of the Empire, and currently leader of all Legion forces in Vvardenfell." Falx crossed hhis arms over his chest, "I trust you remeber the events that transpired five or so years ago? Yes? Well I was a fighter in the front, first I battled the legion's of Arcyakt in my home, my city of Cyrodill. After the scourge was seen to be beaten I traveled with a group of well known adventures that you may claim to know. Serene the Healer, Jonacin Slayer Arcyakt, Selinel(SP) one swift witted Dunmer, and many other brave campanions."

After standing in the same spot for a while he shifted his weight and continued talking, "You see, at our next encounter with Arcyakt I threatened my life to kill that damnable mage. It was in vain of course. My friends thought I had died, and pay their respects to what should of been my grave. Alas I hadn't perished, and after many weeks and months, I travelled the lands making my way to Vvardenfell.." Falx was quick not to bring up his actual dealing with Arcyakt, for they would bring more trouble then good.

"I with many other of my kindrid, the persecuted legionaires, fought alongside of those we were sworn to protect. Died with them even, shed our tears and our blood, and experienced victory at the Battle of Ald'Ruhn. It was glorious, but short lived. I continued my duty with the legion to its fullest. Yet eventually the greedy took advantage of the poor and all the years of we've shared with you were instantly short sighted by your own greed of power. Many young soldiers died by your hands, many that even trusted you."

Falx sat back down and crossed his legs, "To think that returning these poor individuals back to their homes as wrong doing would be foolish... Beware, a cornered dog bites."

"I grant them protection becuase they are currently the most discriminated group in Vvardenfell. The Morag Tong are not protection, they are the means through which the houses are fighting each other. This city has nullified any writs of assasinations the guild may present. in so doing the Morag Tong cannot as easily commit an assassination, and the price for an assasination, or murder as it is now recognized, will be the death of the assassin. I have discussed with the grandmaster of the Morag Tong that he is to cease all assassinations within the city grounds, if he chooses to defy this order I will personally Raze the Morag Tong out of New Vivec. But this also applies to any house that chooses to defy the ordinance. There will be no violence within this city."

Endris -- Vivec

The "Doorsmith" ( tongue.gif ) began working on the new doors for the Morag Tong. Endris remembered hearing a rumor earlier about there being a council meeting today and he wanted to drop in and hear things out. So he put on an exquisite red robe, entered the council hall quietly and stood off to the side of the debate. He saw Amili sitting at the table and gave her a friendly nod.

"I do not want the legionnaires dead, merely gone. But during their stay, why are they entitled to more rights than everyone else? Because they are loyal to the Emperor? And don't bring the fact that they are 'poor soldiers' into this argument. Why should even the poor be given more rights than others? Because they are less fortunate?"

"I want equal rights for all," Amili said, redirecting her focus to Megil. "Which is what you must give if you want to retain a neutral state. Any House could see this as an allegiance with the Empire, and begin a war."

"I don't see any reason for the Legion to feel they have to contaminate this city. The Legion has brought war and oppresion where ever they've gone. They are a system fed by greed and intolerance. They have stunted us from practicing our own beliefs and cultures and forced us to believe in their ideas. They are a menace and their time has ended. What will this do exactly? What will allowing them to stay here so they can make some form a dignified retreat do? Am I to truly believe allowing them to organize is only their attempt to retreat? Then why is it that men who never swore allegiance the Legion before are now signing up? Why is it that Mister Albarnias walks around this city not like the humble and feeble Legionnaire he is trying to make us think he is, but with his nose in the air and his ego inflated like it is?

"We have finally freed ourselves from the shackles of the Empire and all you want to do, Megil Tel-Zeke, is allow them to regroup and unite themselves so they can lay their oppressive shackles upon us once again. I say if they choose to retreat they may do so, but there is no reason for them to stay here!"

"New soldiers are joining all because of the hatred they have for people like you." He nodded towards Isaarin, "But, I along with several sub officers that have returned, tried to turn their hearts from the corrupt ways of the current houses. So far I haven't complete control of the legion, every soldier in sworn to Lord Megil's service and as soon as he gives an order they are to follow. I am just a task master."

"Alas, I am doing my best to sever my connection with the legion and the empire. We are the New Legion, but if the soldiers wish to return home I will not hold them back."

Falx turned to sit down again, "Oh, I've gotten word that someone slaughtered several legionaires heading towards Vivec. Disgusting I find it that someone would outright murder them in broad daylight. Mere youths..."

What this man is doing, is massing his own Vigilante group! For your information, we have a culture here, something the Legion has been striving to get rid of for years! Now I am to learn you are not reuniting the Legion, you're simply grouping together as many thugs as you can to try and harass the houses, while we are on the Eve of retaking our homeland and governing our people in adherence to our cultural beliefs, which you have shown no respect for!

Yes, don't worry Megil, every soldier that wants to be under the empire will, and shall. Of course there are a few, and your enemy are many. Anyways, I am a new faction, I needn't follow the rules of the empire... Don't worry.

Megil Tel-Zeke

" A wise saying, but if I were to abide by it, there would be no great houses in Vivec, for they are ravenous wolves. This city if no chicken coup, it will not be slain by wolves. it is the den of wolves is it not? are there not 3 houses, the morag tong, the legion, and the guilds residing within the city walls? I expect there to be compromises between the houses, accords to be reached and as such coexist in the most prosperous city on the island. I am seeing now that it may not come peacefully. I do not care for what he has to say, but I promise you this! If Megil Tel-Zeke will not stand for what is right in Vvardenfel then we will have to stand for it ourselves! I will not eat this man's fat bowl of lies! Megil Tel-Zeke, if you have anything, absolutely aything to say that would ease me of your so called defenses, proof that if he were to go rogue or try to restore the Empire's oppression on our society, it would be your responsibility to stop it. Can I trust you?"

"Enough," Wred said bitterly. Isaarin turned to him, offended. "They're not building an army. They're seeking a society where they can express their viewpoints. We should allow them that within this city, Isaarin. We should allow them to leave since Vvardenfelis regressing back to the old ways where races like the ones joining this New Legion will be imprisoned or enslaved. Allow them to seek Haven here so they can at least leave before this change occurs."

Isaarin felt horribly offended that such disdain came from his own House. Let alone from Wred, the one man in all of Nirn that he felt he could express his ideals. He stomped his foot and stormed out of the Council.

"The New Legion has offered its services to Lord Megil, and New Vivec, but as it stands the off is not absolute. As of now the deal is to get the legionaires back to Cyrodil. Though I would stand against it, using the New Legion as a guard, or peace keeping force would do well."
