Here we go again.

And a quick addendum before we get started.

What this thread's purpose is:

To let people gather up and discuss music, music tastes and everything thereof.
What not to do in this thread:

Posting one-liners telling only what song you are listening to.

Myself, still got Disturbed playing in the background. Guess it'll never get old for me.

Iron Maiden for now smile.gif

Orthodox Celts - I am listening to their fourth album which is a turn towards more modern sounds, rather than traditional irish folklore from first three albums they did.

Bah, bow to the power that is Iron Maiden. (If we're only talking '80s metal)

Anyways, I'm still on my Queensryche binge with Revolution Calling. Kinda begins the story, where Nikki decides that he'll kill for Dr. X's revolution...

crazy story they have with Operation: Mindcrime.

Iron Maiden is definatly great, but If I would have to chose the best Metal band ever, that would be Metallica..... before St. Anger that is. dry.gif

I dont like Iron Maiden for some reason, its too damn noisy for me, and well, I guess I dont like that music at all.

But Rock, especially AC/DC is cool, I can listen to rock for several hours.

Yeah, AC/DC's not really all that.

But I like a few of their tunes.
HyPN0
Switched to Guns 'n' Roses.
Just listening to some old classics like Knockin' on Heavens Door, November Rain, Don't Cry and\or You Could Be Mine. Recommended stuff smile.gif
Mazelure
I only like one Gun n Roses song... and that is Sweet child o Mine... that is a cool song... I am kinda listening to Korn right now... Korn kicks boat... alot of boat...
HyPN0
That censor is really evil, isn't in Mazelure? laugh.gif

BTW, I think Korn sucks. Way too commercial for my taste.
Dantrag
I take back my earlier statement giving the credit for best '80s metal band to Iron Maiden.

Queensryche wins.

Listening to 'The Mission' by, you guessed it, Queensryche.

Yeah that censor is evil... by the way... Korn is very cool... well atleast in my eyes they are...
Kiln
I just bought two more System of a Down cds "Hypnotize" and "Mesmerize" this time, I'm currently listening to both of those as I type. (no not at the same time, kinda like alternating every now and then.)

Those cds are awesome...if you like that kind of music that is. (yes I am aware that most of you don't like that music but I reserve my right to freedom of post. laugh.gif)

Yeah, it's all about personal preferance.
I only heard a few of their songs. The ones that were on TV the last few years.
Legato
Right now I'm swimming in a sea of KoRn and A7X so I'm content with my screaming loud guitars. I love metal and rock of all kinds except oldies.
dagoth carlos

Riders on the Storm ... Doors. biggrin.gif

I didn't know that one line posts were spam. my the rules here are tough. So anyway, I've always loved the Doors, Light My Fire being a theme song of a love relationship long ago. Riders on the Storm always reminds me of a trip to the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ in the wintertime.
milanius
The Strokes - REPTILIA
have it on constant loop in Winamp now... until I go insane ohmy.gif
CornedBeef
Me be listening to OSI (Office of Strategic Influence)

A little reminder: one-line posts will get this thread closed. Post about what you're hearing right now if you must, but comment on it. Otherwise it's just spam.

Hell yea! Some one has got good taste. SoaD is my fav band, 2nd is Rumstein. biggrin.gif
Btw hows Mesmerize sounding, got Hypnotize and all the others except that one. huh.gif

But on the music scale I'm pretty much all over the place, all depends on what mood I am, if I wanna chill then its some Massive Attack, Ghost monkey, Morcheeba, Faitless and so on.
Basicly anything that sounds good to me, some times I will even Listen to some classic music. ohmy.gif

What I've found out today is that working with math while listning to Dream Theater really works good! Listened to alot of their stuff today and it's really great, what I really like is the variation through-out the song with the rythm and guitar sound etc.

Have been mostly listning to their 10 - 11 min longs from "Train of Thought" and it's really great compassion! Guitar is great, lyrics, singing and really nice to have on when I'm sitting here, knowing that tomorrow I'll be standing infront of some peeps and performing a one hour performance about maths...

Anyway... Dream Theater - This Dying Soul smile.gif

That's a good one. ToT is one of those albums you can listen to over and over without getting bored.

I was listening to The Doors with 'Break on Through', but you reminded me of ToT, and I switched to 'In the Name of God'.

Mmm, that's a great song - It's nice that they last so long as they do too, it's great all the way wink.gif

Switching to some Disturbed inbetween too, listened to them when I was heading to Rome too. VERY high when I was waiting for the flight with Down with the Sickness, famous intro on that song biggrin.gif

Distrubed - Are You Breathing cool.gif
Ramirez
Kurt Angle's WWF theme music.

I think the piece is called "medal"
Bofra
Blackmore's Night, a lot of it. She is just plain amazing. And a new discovery from my side smile.gif.

Keane, We might as well be strangers (Dj Shadow mix)
(thx for the correction bofra laugh.gif )

This song so meaningfull to me.... i dunno... i just really like the song, i added it on my myspace.... pm me if u wanna see it on my myspace or the link i got it from... i really like this song.... cant stress the fact enough...... really really like it..... (sorry... that seemed to spam-ish...) ohmy.gif but you all have to listen to it if you like .... err what genre that specific song falls into....
Bofra
You mean "We might as well be strangers" right? Well, thats a beautiful song, I like the lyrics of many of Keane:s songs.

And for the genre I would say it's Alternative Rock or something like that.
ShogunSniper
just found this pretty neat band.. but unfortunately any of there songs are damn near impossible to find on a P2P.. fortunately they have a fine selection on their website E.S. Posthumus

try "Ebla", i like biggrin.gif
Tellie
The last days I have really started to listen to Iron Maiden, so for the moment I'm listening to "The Number of the beast", and I must say it's a damn good song.

Another favourite of mine, is "The Wickerman" (thanks Fuzzy for reckommending it to me laugh.gif)

But I'm still more of a Rock lover.

But I must say that Alice Cooper is definately one of the better Rock/Metal singers out there...I was on his consert in Stavanger yesterday, and it was some of the best things I have ever experienced biggrin.gif:D

To stay on tipic, I have just bought the Iron Maiden album Seventh son of a Seventh son, and are listening to the first song called moonchild, which I like very good biggrin.gif

All bands bow to the power of Queensryche!

Listening to 'The Mission' and 'Speak' over and over while learning them on guitar.

I think that Geoff Tate should write a novel on Operation: Mindcrime. It would be a bestseller.

Well I saw you with another
It made me lose my mind
Shot you with my '38
And now I'm doin' time
And you put me here
You put me here
Well there's no way to doubt
There ain't no two ways about it
As sure as your name's Kate
You put me here!

Started listening to Ozzy lately, have been playing Mama I'm coming home for quite a long time now...think it is time tomemorise it on my guitar. smile.gif

And for those of you who like AC/DC here, I have just headr from an interviuw that they are on the way of releasing a new album, so thay are currently playing in the studio, so the new album will either be released late this year, or they will release a double album next year (thats what they were hoping on)

So meh, I can hardly wait for the new record to come out. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
Ibis
Omg! AC/DC working on a new album? Great. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap ... love those guys.

Yes, Tellie. You have very good taste in music. My younger sister turned me on to Alice Cooper many a moon ago. He still always reminds me of her.

There is a guy who calls in for pizza at our local Hungry Howie's using the name Alice Cooper but has never been seen. When they deliver, a woman answers the door. But legend has it that it is really Alice. He does own stock cars for racing in Florida, but I don't think he really lives in Orlando. lolol
Wolfie
Listening to Iron Maiden again after a break during which i list4ened to a lot of Kreator and Lordi. But i can't stay away from Maiden for long lol
Fuzzy Knight
Well well Wolfie, Maiden is a very good band thought wink.gif

Right now we're talking Dream Theater - Acid Rain, just fell in love with that guitar first time I heard it, great song smile.gif

May I add, I got a couple of Dream Theater songs from a friend today. Including a couple of guitar solo's and one where they sing Metallica's - Master of Puppets live. It's really cool to hear the vocalist singing and hearing the WHOLE crowd singing along too, with the whole song! biggrin.gif

I've heard that Master of Puppets too.

I don't think LaBrie's voice fits the song very well.
