Got the marinara sauce made, meatballs and sausages simmering away in the crockpot.

Tomorrow (Christmas DAY here, y'all) it's CHEESE RAVIOLI and a nice bottle of Italian red.

For some reason, Khajiit read that as “marijuana sauce” at first glance

Khajiit had too much "marinara" sauce before reading that?

I sense a new themed restaurant in the making...

If Khajiit wanted to lose his job, that would be a great way!

Christmas food is (mostly) done- Cherry Jell-O Salad, butter cake, and (ordered from out) ham and turkey. Potato dish will be done tomorrow.

Visited with my sister in the house where we grew up- or where I probably refused to grow up....

Concluded the traditional Christmas Eve reading of 2 stories from Christmases when I was small- (yes, we actually had books then- not just stone tablets). The Christmas Forest by Louise Fatio and The Cowboy's Christmas Eve by Jack Shaeffer.

Santa got me some sweet new headphones: the HyperX Cloud II. So that's pretty cool. One thing that that would be pretty useful for is using Discord while we play ESO. So I'll try to test them out for that next time I get the chance. I wish the cord was a little longer, though.

WOOOOOT !!! What an awesome present! I've been using the headset for that for three years now; and boy does it make dungeon crawling with friends SO much easier when they can explain the next room/boss fight before you have walked in and aggroed the whole room the wrong way for survival, (etc), lol.

My sister got me a new bed sheet set.

In addition to the mini SNES thing his sister got him, Khajiit also got a $150 gift certificate for a pawnshop! Khajiit’s going to get a firearm at some point this year!

I didn't get any gifts for Christmas. Before all of you start going "Awww", let me tell you that I've been telling everyone no gifts for the past ten - fifteen years or so. Not to be unappreciative, but I got tired of getting stuff that just added to clutter. I'm still struggling for the minimalist vibe in my home, where everything has its place and cats can lounge on the furniture without knocking stuff off. I hate dusting . . .

But I did have a nice, quiet Christmas with my mom, homemade ravioli and MARINARA sauce and meatballs, and a bottle of Italian dry red. And almost everything went well . . .

Bold = sounds like lovely gifts to me!

I'm so glad you and your Mom had a great Christmas! We have been trying to stream down a large house's furnishings into a tiny hunting lodge type house = so completely understand the desire to not have clutter, lol. That is why I asked for Crowns for Christmas when my son asked what I wanted, lol.

Heheh, yeah, got a pretty good bunch of presents. The dvds didn't turn out to be as good as I'd hoped, but the rest are great. And I've got a big family gathering on the 30th to look forward to

I've got a cousin who does that, a lot younger than me, but she's calmed down somewhat now. So I'm not likely to be hugged to death this year

I thought it was you that happened to! I said niece because I remembered the girl being much younger, but I did remember you being the subject of boa-constrictor hugs during the holidays a couple years back, lol.

Heh, I think boa-constrictor is something of an understatement for her hugs

I'm just hoping she's not too hyped up because it's christmas, or I'll end up back in the vice-grip again

Sure, she's cute. But I doubt she'll ever grow out of hugging me, even if she's grown out of being so enthusiastic about it. That kid's nuts about me

So yeah- in all the excitement about finally joining the ranks of ESO players, I rather forgot to mention the reason I have been able to do so... the new gaming PC I received as my Christmas gift.

(Those who are easily nauseated by watching someone geek out are advised to stop reading now).


It is a Cyberpower GXVR8020A4 with

i5 7400 processor (3 GHz)
8 GB DDR4 RAM
Radeon RX580 4GB
1 TB hard drive
Windows 10 64-bit

The only negative surprise was no internal CD/DVD-ROM drive... which will teach me to read the specs before ordering. However, a few additional bucks got me an LG external drive, so that's sorted.

The next purchase will be an HDMI/USB KVM switch, which will allow me to run the old Windows 7 PC through the same keyboard, monitor, and mouse. I could just pull the hard drive and run it in an external drive enclosure, but using the switch means I won't have to negotiate for the programs that are loaded on the Win 7 drive to work in the Win 10 PC.

WOW, what an AWESOME Xmas Present !!!!

Ooh, I'd like a switch like that to be able to use the same monitor for my old PC without having to unhook all those wires each time! I wonder how well that would work with my old PC? OH! And if it would work with and XP PC, I might be able to play Chips Challenge with just a flip of the switch ...

Back from the family gathering, which was good fun as always. Didn't get much in the way of hugs from my youngest cousin, as she might have been a little upset that I was geeking out with one of other cousins when she arrived
