One is Farms of the Wasteland.

The other is Flora Overhaul Forested Edition.
Renee
Graci.

In Janet's game it is April 12, 2278 and she's hanging out with the former slaves at Temple of the Union. Abe Lincoln's head watches over Janet as she joins the others for dinner.

Quite a lot of lively conversation amongst these folks! Fun to listen to them. Then after a while they run out of stuff to talk about and fall into a comfortable silence.

She's headed back to society (well... Megaton, Big Town, anywhere which has stimpaks). Dealing with the guards outside MacDonald's Farm ... those guys were really tough. Were is the keyword, of course. But they were tough. She had 8 stimpaks now she's only got one. indifferent.gif And she's not facing any Lopov Enemy with just one stimpak. nono.gif

Tough as in Point Lookout tough?

Tough as in Point Lookout tough?

Never been to PL, but probably so. Lopov made the bosses in his mod tough, but those weren't even bosses, they were guards. blink.gif One of those guards had a sniper rifle which hit Janet as she desperately ran away, even as she zigzagged. mad.gif Was really pissing me off, actually; suddenly half her health was gone!

She had no choice then but to eat a Stealth Boy. Was trying to avoid this... I rely on those chems too often during Enemies of the Wastes. 💊

mirocu
As for me and Gunny it's business as usual in the Wasteland; shooting, looting, selling and collecting caps. Currently at 600.000 at home and about 3300 on me.

Today I also switched weapons from Sydney's 10mm and the Vulcan to the Xuanlong and the Chinese fire pistol. Gotta change it up sometimes smile.gif

Current location: Fairfax
Kane
James caught up to Benny in The Tops and has since been out exploring the Mojave and helping various factions and followers. He is currently "Liked" by the NCR and has donned the infinitely cool Ranger Combat Armor and Helmet. He traveled with Veronica and then Cass for a while, but currently he is going it alone.

Might go do Honest Hearts next. That or wipe out the Fiends first.

Last quest turned in was a hoot - gathered up some "escorts" for the Atomic Wrangler, including a Protectron sexbot named Fisto. "Please assume the position."

Gotta decide what weapons to take with him to Zion, though. Right now he carries a Sniper Rifle, 12.7mm pistol, The Ratslayer, Silenced .22 pistol, and This Machine.
mirocu
Coming strapped, I hear biggrin.gif
Kane
Actually ended up checking out Dead Money first, since I was in the area. Pared down James gear to Lil Devil, This Machine, and the sniper rifle before going in. Ended up not being able to use any of it.

Did not expect to have to scavenge for [i]everything[/i[.

Kane, meet mirocu. mirocu, this is Kane. Hug_emoticon.gif Kane, you don't know the meaning of 'scavenge' until you've spent an day traipsing behind mirocu's character Mirocu, and his pet 'bot Gunny.

Kidding. tongue.gif Last I saw Cho Zen Wan he was headed into a Metro tunnel, I think the Friendship one.
mirocu
As a matter of fact I just came back from some scavenging tongue.gif

And selling off stuff at Rivet City. Been poodeling around the mid-section of the map today with no real aim as for where to go. This is odd, I usually have a route in mind for any given session. Regardless; the Chinese fire pistol is fun to toy with, and the Xuanlong is a safe backup.

And we did stop by Friendship Heights but did not go into the tunnels smile.gif
Kane
Oh, don't get me wrong. My characters in Fallout 4 might as well all be named Hoover or Dyson. I just wasn't expecting to arrive at the Sierra Madre with a pert near empty inventory.

I love Dead Money. The atmosphere and the super sad backstory really left an impression on me.

I wished we could have brought Christine back to the Mojave for Veronica. Otherwise, it was an interesting challenge.

-----------------------

All finished up with that run. Played all four DLCs and by the time James made it to the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, he was level 50 and sported the Elite Riot Gear and charged into battle for the NCR with his Anti-Materiel rifle and the Survivalist Rifle for backup.

Throughout his Mojave travels he amassed plenty of allies (sans the Legion) and they all helped rout that Legion scum once more. The Boomers carpet bombed their forward position whilst the NCR and Brotherhood of Steel held the line. Soon after that, the Enclave Remnants landed and charged into the Legion camp alongside James, Veronica, and ED-E.

Legate Lanius did not last long.

Meanwhile, I had a bit of a scare today.

While running east towards Northwest Seneca station, a place known for its Deathclaw hive, I came upon no less than eleven of the buggers. Normally I have the Vulcan with me which takes care of the problem easily but this time I didn't. I didn't even think there would be any Claws there now due to a previous extermination, but it turned out they had been restocked tongue.gif

Only means of defense was the Xuanlong and that thing is NOT ENOUGH against eleven Deathclaws, lemme tell ya. Had to use the guardrail by the road as a barrier between us to even stand a chance.

Lesson learned; NEVER approach this area with anything less than the Vulcan! tongue.gif

Had a big session today, close to two hours and I'm already up to 17.000 caps since my last milestone.

Side note; interestingly, at two points during this session I had exactly 17171 rounds of 5.56 in my reserves for the Xuanlong rifle blink.gif

I notice numbers all the time, and even try to preserve them. Cho has 666 caps in one of his suitcases for instance. Same goes with Janet, with her 420 Prewar Bills in a desk. ☮

I also make a real effort to keep game saves with certain numbers. Save 1111 for a Skyrim game, for instance. Save 1969 in any game (my year of birth), etc. smile.gif

I do this too, especially when I get even numbers like save number 25.000 and so on. Otherwise I always tend to notice when I have ammo reserves with a combination where 474 or 747 is included. but to get 17171 TWICE in one game session was quite fun I think tongue.gif

South to the Dutchess!!!

Way too early in the season for that nono.gif

Had another session yesterday where I hopped around the Wasteland. But I did end up outside Megaton again so my last post still stands tongue.gif

Oddity: Came across a Deathclaw and got his attention with the Chinese fire pistol. But as it ran up to me it suddenly darted right up into the air at the speed of light and then proceeded to teleport around me. Never seen anything like it and it made Gunny confused as he kept searching for his target to show up and behave normally laugh.gif

Curiosity:
Around the middle part of the map on a street by some houses I found a sewer which I evidentally haven't been to before as things I would have taken were still there and the local map was not filled in. As I entered, a Wastelander exited and I did try to talk to him but he only had a small greeting. In this sewer was a hidden room with strung up corpses in the usual Raider style. I almost expected the Wastelander to confront me like the people do in Andale after you discover their "strange meat" but he didn't. But this is why I keep playing after more than ten years; I still discover new things! biggrin.gif

Curiosity: Hunh. I don’t recall that either. Sounds similar to those radio tower sewers but not sure.

Due to weather, today's Fallout 3 session was spent in D.C rather than out in the Wasteland proper. I was planning to just do a D.C journey in which I start at L.Enfant Plaza and through a number of locations work my way up to Takoma and then out into the wastes again. But since weather permitted, I stayed in D.C and among other things found Gibson again, a character long forgotten by me.
I never really understood his note "Search the house" or indeed which house to search. I thought it was in D.C but read up on the wiki it's in Minefield and so I will look it up next session.

At least I don't think I got this before mellow.gif
SubRosa
Look for the Gibson House in Minefield. Gibson has a key on him that will open something in there.
mirocu
I did just that and it turns out, quite not surprisingly, I have already searched that house.

Oh, well.
TheCheshireKhajiit

@Khajiit - Still too early. I'm currently collecting 5mm ammo for the Vulcan and mines for the ghoul hunt in the grotto. Though I do have enough of those now, I think. Still, no Lookout until scary October nono.gif

mirocu: Ha ha that deathclaw story's amusing! It's like it got caught in an invisible rollercoaster.

Well my Fallout 3 season continues. tongue.gif Beat the gremlins.. this time. 👻

Wednesday, June 14, 2279: Cho Zen Wan is headed back to Megaton after storming some Brotherhood Outcasts. His C-team is with him. This includes a guy who carries around a huge flamethrower, a second guy who specializes in energy weapons, and a third guy who carries assault rifles, mostly. Yeah, buncha baddasses! Dogmeat is also part of the team, but mostly Cho makes his dog stay in Megaton. 🐕‍🦺

I JUST noticed something cool. The GOG version apparently allows use of the console while I'm using an Xbox controller. blink.gif This is hugely convenient. With the STeam version I always had to disable the controller just to use the console. rolleyes.gif Screenshots could therefore be difficult. Well not no more!

mirocu
Awesome, Renee! Convenient stuff is convenient, I 've heard biggrin.gif

Yeah; business as usual here. Out in the wastes, sold some stuff, shot some other stuff, then stuff happened.
TheCheshireKhajiit

A lengthy session yesterday.

Started out jumping around trying to find someone to sell to since both Gunny and me were carrying too much. Turned out the vendors in Rivet City were up for it. After that we ran around the area of Vault 87(?) and the Sniper Shack as well as along the car bridge further north. A good number if Mirelurk meat was collected.

We ended the session carrying too much, again, so next time we need to find someone with caps. Again tongue.gif

Also; about the unique alien blaster you can find after the UFO explodes in the sky. Can someone confirm that if you don't collect it, it disappears when the cell resets?
Renee
No idea about the blaster. Is that from the Mothership?

I also gamed yesterday. Cho Zen Wan is just arrived outside of Nuka Cola Plant. 🍾 Gonna pillage & loot & accrue caps after he sells what he can sell.

When you say lengthy, how many hours?

TheCheshireKhajiit
Nah the Firelancer event was part of the base game. @ ‘Rocu: I dont remember seeing the Firelancer event occur but once for a given character. If you didn’t collect it, try returning to the area and see if Dogmeat can locate it. If he doesn’t turn up anything, you may just want to add it using console commands.
SubRosa
You can also use the no clip command and go under the ground, then look up. You might be able to see the gun and its ammo easier that way, as it might be clipping through the ground.
mirocu
I did try the Dogmeat method years ago on different parts of the area where it happened. I didn't know at the time that you get a weapon, I just thought it was an explosion for the sake of it. Should have known better, really laugh.gif

Failing that, adding it via console commands will be your last resort.

I even did the research work for you:
player.additem [000C80BA][#] [desired condition (1-100)]
mirocu
Thanks, Khajiit. That was above and beyond smile.gif

As a collector though it's important to me that I get that first specific one from the explosion, so I don't know if I should console it into my collection if I don't find the "original" one. We'll see. But again; thanks smile.gif

Well, just did the tcl and the Dogmeat and nothing. No Firelance. Not sure if it's gone or if it's just very difficult to spot it amongst the rubble when tcl:ing. I know the general area where it happened but honestly I need to know more precise and that's not gonna happen after all these years. I might try again on Sunday.

Interestingly, when tcl:ing around the UFO I found a radio I could use. There was someone saying "Yeah?" at the other end but I could only say goodbye.

Found this on the wiki:
Entering the console command getStageDone 00031E39 8 will return "1", if the encounter already took place in the world, or "0" if it can still occur.

Does this mean Firelance returns to where it initially landed?

I’m unsure. Does it mean the encounter will simply happen again?
SubRosa
No, the getstagedone command will just tell you if a quest stage has been completed or not. It won't do anything else. If it is coming back with a 1 - that the quest stage has been done - then you can try another command to restart the quest.

SQS 00031E39 will show you all the stages of the quest, and which ones are finished (marked 1) and which ones are not (marked 0)

ResetQuest 00031E39 should reset the stages back to 0.

SetStage 00031E39 x will allow you to set the current stage of the quest to whatever number you list under x.

So if you use the ResetQuest command, and then go to any of the Random Encounter type A locations on the map in the wiki, you can then use setStage 06031E39 8. That should trigger the event again.
mirocu
I see. Well, I think I'll go back and look around again tomorrow for a bit. It's a bit more fun to do that than simply console it into my collection. It's a futile effort at this point but why not? laugh.gif
mirocu
Yesterday me and Gunny came upon two friendly Giant Rad Scorpions when teleporting. Always interesting to find friendly versions. We also sold a lot of stuff and we're close to another 30.000 caps.

Also; still no Firelance and I think I've given up now for good. There's no chance that thing is still around in my game.
