No, no, I don't get where people get that idea. She's a regular human host and I never got anything that even remotely suggested she was Kindred.

Cool as a cat though biggrin.gif

I think the argument stems from her reaction to Andrei calling in. People think that she seemed a little too “in the know” for a human. I wonder if she was actually a hunter.
mirocu
I never got the feeling she knew anything, rather she played along in the beginning as radio hosts often do when people call in, possibly referring to typical vampire movies and the like. No; I do not think she was Kindred.

Cabbie is another story, though.... biggrin.gif wink.gif

Well yeah, Cabbie confirms he is Kindred, but… is he more than just another Kindred?
mirocu
I'm just as convinced here but the reverse; he's indeed Cane the original vampire. Not our Kane, though... biggrin.gif

It just fits too perfectly in my mind with him being a cabbie; getting around having a look-see on the vampie society without actually taking any part of it. To me it would be a perfect role for him instead of just sitting in a cave somewhere or even being locked up in a sarcophogus. Not to mention the name of the audio files basically confirms it.

I can't explain how I see it any better, but again; him being a cabbie is to me the perfect role for him in this game. It would even work in a movie IMHO. Observing from the sideline with no one knowing who he is and without drawing attention to himself as an active participant in the vampire society.

What's Khajiit's take?

What's Khajiit's take?

Could you imagine some Ventrue brat gets into his cab and acts like a jerk to the Caine? laugh.gif
mirocu
Or even some Sabbat laugh.gif

He could crush them all without even thinking about it. That is, if he could even be bothered. I imagine that when you're that powerful you don't need to ever show off or even make a point. But you could pulverize them in an instant if someone is foolish enough to not leave you alone tongue.gif

Yeah I’m sure he probably would get a kick out of that!
mirocu
I loved the quest to escape Santa Monica and get to the cab. That's really when I felt there was no turning back; it's full on war with the prince.

I get the same feeling when I get to Vandenburg in Deus Ex, but that's a whole nother story tongue.gif

The point of no return, aka “Make a save before so you can save scum all the endings”! laugh.gif
mirocu
I would love to replay this baby for some of the quests and some of the characters, but not all quests and not all characters! tongue.gif laugh.gif

mirocu
Nah. The parts of the game I dislike I dislike too much kvleft.gif

But I still wanna talk about it biggrin.gif

Like, how easy Stanley Gimble was if you have VoD, and he wasn't even that difficult to begin with tongue.gif
TheCheshireKhajiit
Ugh, Gimble. Yeah wasn’t difficult, being a mere human, but man, was his mission not creepy af? That weirdly empty tattoo parlor. The back rooms of his office. Creeeeepy!
mirocu
Yeah, creepy af for sure. The further you got down into his basement the creepier the music got too tongue.gif

One thing about this game; the music does an excellent job at setting the tone/atmosphere.

Yeah, the Ocean House mission immediately comes to my mind.

Only problem was the music stopped after awhile and I had to save/reload in order to get it back kvleft.gif

Maybe it was supposed to be like that as if I didn't save/reload, it came back on at certain points when something happened.

Sounds like a bug. I didn’t experience that. This game is very buggy, as is well known. Lol

Say it isn't so!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif panic.gif

So, Khajiit didn't have the music suddenly stop at Oceanhouse? Makes sense it's a glitch; it was the same with the fridge for me. In order to have it stay open and not autoclose I had to save/reload.

The fridge in the apartment/safehouse?
mirocu
Yeah. Whenever I tried to get my bloodpacks it autoclosed so I couldn't pick them up.

This vampire game has more bugs than vampires rollinglaugh.gif
TheCheshireKhajiit
Lol

I usually just kept blood bags on me and stashed weapons and such in the desk drawer.
mirocu
Yeah, but at the start of the game you can pick them up from the fridge because they're there.

Also; did Khajiit like the Mandarin's test chambers? biggrin.gif

Oh I see now, the bug occurred when you went to get them. Yeah I never encountered that to my knowledge.

Yeah it was fun how clueless this guy was.

For someone who literally knows about and friggin studies vampires, he really didn't take proper precautions tongue.gif tongue.gif

Yeah not at all. The whole time I was like, “Is this guy for real?” laugh.gif

Fun place. The Belmont room was too stupid though. I don't know how he thought that would work rollinglaugh.gif

Jack even tells you at the beginning that it doesn’t work, though he put it a lot less politely than I just did, lol
mirocu
Think I got all the posters for my haven btw. At least I know I got V.V and Jeanette. Well, maybe I didn't get all of them. Think you can get Ming Xiao too.

The Ming Xiao one is my fav, lol
mirocu
Just looked it up. Seems like I didn't get Ming or Damsel. Dangit! tongue.gif

I recognize the items you have to mail to get those posters though, but for some reason I don't think I mailed them but just kept them as collectibels of sort kvleft.gif

Welp, now you gotta do a new playthrough!
mirocu
That would be a reason as good as any I s'pose laugh.gif

I did like the Malkavian primogen's mansion and as always the music is fantastic. Think I would just sneak past all the lunatics on another playthrough however. Fighting them all is just tedious.

I’m pretty sure that’s what Brigitte did.
mirocu
Oh, yeah. Did you ever finish her playthrough?
TheCheshireKhajiit

Yep! You can even go back to pages 1-18 of this thread to see some of the highlights (or just skip to pages 18 & 19 for the endgame)! biggrin.gif
mirocu
Had forgotten about that... biggrin.gif

Brigitte forgives you, but Brigitte does not.
mirocu
Well, I'd just have to go out with Therese and Jeanette then. And Brigitte, but not Brigitte biggrin.gif

Btw, I've seen a LP of this game where the guy completely missed talking to Knox, Bertrum's ghoul. Like, how do you miss him!? He's right outside the hospital and he approaches you himself when you get near enough!! blink.gif blink.gif

Yeah! Like how does that even happen?!
mirocu

This guy's weird. He's played the game before, that is obvious from how he talks. But some things he's utterly clueless about making me question if this is his first playthrough! laugh.gif

Like, later in the LP he talks about not being able to walk into Foxy Boxes, but that's a quest you get from Knox and if he's played the game before he should know that.

Anyway, it's a good LP. And I think he also gets the music cutoff at the Oceanhouse as well.

Yeah because Knox is being followed by Kuei Jinn.

First time playing I almost didn't want to leave Santa Monica when Downtown was unlocked. I had become so used to roaming that place and felt comfortable there and I loved hanging out at the pier laugh.gif

Santa Monica in VtMB is one of the best starting game spaces ever created. It’s approachable. Doesn’t seem like a very dangerous or scary place, with its cozy diner, happening night club, bougie apartments, and pier. A perfect place for a Kindred to live out their undead existence. Once you start peeling back the layers though, woah boy. There’s a lot of shady or downright insane stuff going on, which of course gives you the opportunity to further your advancement.
mirocu
I loved listening to Deb in my apartment and I didn't want to leave because then I wouldn't be able to listen to the show laugh.gif

When you get to Downtown that's when it begins to feel real. Like, your intern days are over. Time to get to work! tongue.gif
TheCheshireKhajiit
Santa Monica was definitely a mood.
mirocu
Did Khajiit ever let the serial killer go at the end of the quest at the junkyard?
TheCheshireKhajiit

I think so? I don’t remember the two earlier playthroughs very good. I feel like my Ventrue character may have let them go. Or was it the Tremere…? IDK. Pretty sure Brigitte beat his booty.
mirocu
I tried it once just to see what happened dialogue-wise but ended up reloading a save because I wanted to complete the quest properly even though on some level he made sense and wasn't just downright evil.

I remember now that something happened and I was unable to resolve it by talking with Brigitte. The guy was immediately hostile when she entered the cell.
mirocu
Yeah well, he tosses cars at you initially but then there's the dialogue where he tries to get you to leave, which you can btw, but that's when you fail the quest. Are you saying he immediately attacked Brigitte with no prior dialogue?
