My mind has been wandering back to Diddy Kong Racing recently. Truly one of the greatest kart racing games ever. I’d love to play it again…
Is that SNES or 64?
N64

Well, if you have the system and game I'd say hook it up and go!

I don’t anymore. Much to my regret.

Oh, sorry to hear that. I too have games I got rid of because I was stupid and now regret letting it go.
At least you can hop on ebay and get what you want even if it won't be your own original stuff

Yeah maybe the only way of getting it. They seem to refuse to release it as a port on the N64 emulator the Switch runs. I think there may have been some weird licensing issues with it though. Nintendo owns the Donkey Kong IP, but Rare made the games back in the day, and now they are owned by Micro$oft.

Always fun to play on the original hardware!

Indeed. I don’t care what people say, the N64 controller was revolutionary.

Never held one in my crow feet, but it does look it needs some getting used to. But maybe I'm wrong.

Never played the N64. Heck, I barely ever got to play the SNES

It was definitely different when coming from SNES or Genesis, but I don’t remember the learning curve being to bad. For most games you held it with the middle grip in your left hand and the right grip in your right. The only other configuration I ever used was holding it by the left and right grips while playing Mortal Kombat Trilogy. This let you use the direction pad instead of the stick. Thinking back on it I’m not sure why I thought this was the optimal way to play MKT or if that was how the game’s controls were by default.

Yeah, I don't think it's too bad really. It may look unorthodox but in reality it may be a good'un.
I have to say though I never particularly liked the Genesis controller. Not a big fan of having the buttons all in a row. It's playable but not comfortable to me.

I agree, but I may be biased as I had an SNES and didn’t play a lot of the Genesis.
