I just got a call smile.gif they accepted me to that course I applied for. I am only moderately excited, but hyped too, because not many things have gone in the right direction during my life... this could be decent' if executed properly biggrin.gif Now, all I have to think is technicalities: bus fairs to training center, changing my lifestyle for the next several months [no more Mr. Late Night Chat, sadly] and starting to actually work for a change laugh.gif this is going to be fun.

EDIT: well, there are good and bad news. The course lasts 260 classes [ohmy.gif] and I really don't know how will we squeeze that into 3 months... and, on top of all, the only certificate we get is the Electronic Industry's own internal certificate - nothing about the equivalent of A+ was ever mentioned sad.gif but hell, life goes on, I guess.
Ibis
CONGRATS MIL - I'm very happy for you! I hope this is the start of something really wonderful for you.
Channler
Hmm car wrecks abound aye?

Yea, just had my second car wreck yesterday sad.gif..

Comming off I-95 and merging onto the highway at roughly 65-70 mph and this dude comes into my lane and bumps me into a fishtail and I end up backwards on the this highway and he crashes along the guardrail. And I get the ticket. Cause I'm young and inexperienced.

It was quite fun, but now not only do I drive a crappy car, but I drive a crappy car with the front end smashed in O_o

Just finished chilling with my best friend in Marin County for the last weekend of freedom before I go to Ashland, gave him the pipe I bought for him in Peru, everything's good.

After nearly 4 months of unemployment, I now work in a warehouse at Toys R Us till the end of December. I can finally get that new PC I want, find out what Oblivion is like and then maybe get that hamster and call him Boo.

sounds good to me, and congrats on the job.

Hi all. I've finally taken a break from Flight Sim while I wait for Flight Sim X and started playing Oblivion again. Started a new game with the OOO mod. Can't remember the full name now, but it looks good so far. Found the link on the front page here. Much harder to make money with it, that's for sure, and I've met some interesting new creatures that is way tougher than my level 3 character... ohmy.gif

QUOTE(Intestinal Chaos @ Sep 3 2006, 06:59 AM) *

I now have to get to everything through ctrl alt delete and then do new task from there. Everything works fine, I just don't have any icons or a tool bar. I know how to fix the problem, the fact is that I'm just too lazy. I don't have the heart to reformat it, so until I do I have to deal with everything through new task.

A bit late here, and you probably know this by now, but to get the desktop back simply type 'explorer' where you start new apps, from the 'New Task' button from the Ctrl-Alt-Del menu.

I'll go and get a cup of coffee...
DoomedOne
I defragged my computer and start playing anarchy online as a blue fixer named Weedwood
Ramirez
I used to play AO but I gota bit bored of it. And then one of the files corrupted so I just uninstaled it.
Konji
Hey Olav have you got the flight simulator X demo?
The Metal Mallet
Personally, I can't wait for Saturday night. My buddy is buying UFC 63 and I'm so eager to watch the fights just because the fight card is really, really good. The former lightweight champ is fighting, David Loiseux is fighting Mike Swick, and then the title fight is going to be fantastic. It's slightly regrettable because the original challenger was supposed to be Georges St.Pierre but due to injury in training he had to withdraw. Penn is a good fighter though and it'll be interesting to see if Hughes (the champion) will be able to avenge his lost to his previous fight with Penn.

Still it's TWO whole days away.... ARGH!
Ibis
Channler, I think that sucks that you got the ticket although it was the other guy who bumped you! I-95 is really dangerous here in Florida too. I hear about accidents there all the time.

Ramirez - I am SOO happy for you dude! You got a job and at such a nice place - Toys R Us. Might get tired of the wee people by December, but I'm also jealous that you'll be able to experience Oblivion as it should be run. Cain has been nice enough to make a character for me on his comp and we play her together. It is really great to feel Oblivion happening.

Doomie, we are playing AO again too. Just got in the mood for it, both at the same time, so we are in. My gal is mostly a jeweler, so she wouldn't be that exciting to meet. Cain has a fixer char, they are awesome. Glad you had such a good time in Peru too.

Congrats. Tell me how NYC is. (Haven't been there, myself)
Ibis
NYC is rough, tough and over the top in all ways. Be careful when you are there Minque. They eat visitors on bagels for breakfast, even the New Jersey variety visitors from acrost the river. tahaha! Michiganites will seem like a dream of welcoming angels after NYC, I assure you. I have been to both places. And both have wonderful things to see. Ohhh, and you are going to love the Smokey Mountains & in the fall! The autumn leaves changing color. Bet you like it there best.

=========

I just want to REALLY encourage Milanius to take that course no matter what it is and get every drop from it that you can. After you get the knowledge from them = you can take the A+ certification test on your own. Here in the states anyone can take the test at a testing center for $150.00 for each part, hardware & software, or $210.00 if you want to take both tests together, which is harder. I don't know how it is handled elsewhere. Sometimes you can pay for a 'review class' and also have a lesser test fee included in the cost.

But good luck and STUDY, Write everything down, review and review until you know things by heart. The knowledge is the power, the money can be gotten somehow. Wait tables at 3 jobs for 2 weeks, whatever. The main thing is to pass the A+ certification and then no one can ever take that from you and it opens alot of doors. It really does. Good luck.

For breakfast? Hehe if they try me on a bagel they´ll certanly get more than they can chew...No but I´ll be careful, also my daughter will come to NYC and we´ll be there together, she could be my bodyguard...muhaha.

I have seen my family´s pics from their visit this summer, and they were great!. Ann Arbor also seems to be a very nice town, it will be fun to see how my kid´s been living this past year.

The smokies..ahh yes, I´ve seen so many beautiful views from there on the net so that will be awesome.
Oh and I have also ordered a rental car when I arrive..hmmm probably with automatic transmission! Ehhh that will be a new experience for me,.........Hopefully I´ll manage to get it out of the parking place...... blink.gif

Oh and Danny! I´ll tell you all about NYC, in pictures! tongue.gif
Saffas Missionary

Milanius: My thoughts are with you as always!
Saffas Missionary
Coming here eh Minque? And Sorry to hear that Milanius, hope you feel better. Oh I got a name change biggrin.gif Used to be FafsaTheElf, but I figuered that I have all these ownage signitures and avatars on my other forum name, that I might as well use them here too. I dont own the PSD files for any of them though, so I cant change the name on them (You see, I get them on D2JSP forum, and I buy them with forum gold from diablo II LoD ^^)

So the original Trey (the weiner dog), has a wound on his head (some sort of skin growth that got infected). After treatment, he had to wear a collar deal to prevent him scracthing the spot. But instead of one of those hard plastic "lampshade" ones, the vet gave him a softer, blue, floppy style. He looks like a furry frilled lizard. I promised him that we would not take pictures. (When you are 2 feet long and 6 inches high, diginity is important.)

Hang in there, Mil.

Wow, so much going on. I hope by now that Mil is feeling better and Minque has landed in NYC.

And now Saffas Missionary is Fafsa the Elf ... or used to be. Okay. Think I got it all straight now. And yes, poor little origianl Treydog, I hope he doesn't scratch.
minque
Aww poor Trey!! Good thing not to show then rest of the world how one look in a blue soft collar ewwww!

hug him from me Treydog huh!

nd Mil..hope everything is going your way...I´ll keep my figers crossed.

Nope I´m still in Sweden, in Stockholm where I´ll spend the night, my flight is 9am (my time) tomorrow morning. I´ll trey to get in touch when in NYC.

My kiddo has a truckload of suggestions what we can do. Broadway show (lion king) Then also meet a frien of her who´s studying fish parasites??!! Also we plan to visit Philly for a day or two. Her Host family has relatives there!

My gosh....this coming week will be eventful!
Saffas Missionary
Welcome to stay at our house just an hour and a half or so from philadelphia tongue.gif. hope you enjoy your trip to the US. Comming here for business or just for fun?

And Treydog, dont worry, you probably look as rediculous as my cat when she got bitten by a racoon on the *erm* hind side *erm*. Well, Actually I know it sounds harsh but Im glad she got bitten. This is because she was an unsocial farmcat before we got her and this made her realize we're here to help. She became all social and nice after that tongue.gif

hmmmm hmmmm hmmmmmmmmmmm

Aww Poor dog.. i have weiner dog too.. Names Max, he actually had glucoma(sp) not to long ago but I guess hes better.

Nearly 12 years old he is.. Thats what.. 84 people years? Good ol' dog
treydog
Trey is much better- now out of the "Elizabethan" collar. He is around 13 or 14- also an excellent dog. As I have mentioned before, I tend to name all my computer RPG characters after him....

We will be blasting off for a short visit to Savannah on Thursday and Friday- Grandparents' Day at the older grandson's school.

I have a hamster now. But I can't decide whether to name him Ulysses, or Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov Lenin, or something else.

How about Trotsky? Good name for a hamster.

Today is our reunion day in Germany. It's a day where we're supposed to celebrate the reunion of eastern and western Germany in the early 90s. Looking outside the window, I can't see anyone partying yet. Actually, I've never seen anyone party on this day. I wonder why that is?
minque
Hi!
Just wanna say hello. I'm currently in Ann Arbor, MI.....an it,s a great town! New York was awesome but one week is enough...my gosh so many ppl running about, so much traffic, so much everything. My kiddo dragged me along to TWO broadway shows!!! My wallet is in terrible pain, my creditcard is tired,,,hehe

Bu t I just LOOOOOVE US!!!!
The Metal Mallet
Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself Minque! I can't wait to hear about the next place you visit.

And yes, it can be expensive visiting the US, sometimes you just need to splurge tongue.gif
milanius
Great to hear that you're having mucho fun, Minque smile.gif Soak up every little expirience and enjoy every moment.

I have formated a drive today and reinstalled Windows 98 SE operative system with some drivers and DX9 as a part of out PC manteinance training. It was fun, and I got a laugh out of the fact that people actually thought USB flash drives were going to work with Win98, without special drivers. tongue.gif We also got our free copies of a book called "How Computers Work" laugh.gif it might look silly, all illustrated and colorful, but it also has decent info and it's up to date [thank God], so it's all good.

edit: well, to be honest, I also laughed at myself a bit there, because for a second I forgot that Win98 SE doesen't support flash drives, eh... the power of habit tongue.gif
Soulseeker3.0
Good to hear that your having a good time (even if the wallet isn't) in the US Minque.

Mil: Hmm, i didn't know 98 didn't support flash drives...
Rane
That's the end of my time in the army. 9 months that could have been invested in something else. Still, glad that it's finally over.
milanius
Soulseeker: It can't, that's the whole hillarious point tongue.gif

Ibis
Yay! I am so happy for Rane. Now you have your freedom and can do what you want to do all day. I hope your time in service leads into some educational training, as it can here in the states. Irregardless, your time and experience in your particular job in the service should give you an advantage in the job market hopefully.

=========

Milanius, I am so glad to hear that there are good things coming from your educational experience. So good to hear that your book is up to date. Cain has been out of work for some time now and was lamenting about all the computer innovations and new operating systems that he is not experiencing first hand anymore. Gather all the information that you possibly can. Like you said, it's all good.

======

Minque, I'm so glad that you are enjoying your US visit. New York has that effect on me too ... too, too, too much of everything going on there! You have to excellerate up a few gears just to stay there. Michigan I know is a very nice place, full of friendly people. I was very young when we stayed in Detroit, but I have some fond memories of it. I can't wait to hear how the Smokey Mountains are at this time of the year!

What's there to tell? I was a MP, meaning I guarded a bunch of various objects/persons every now and then. The rest of the time was spent either hanging around in our unit's quarters or going through what a MP's duties are if our country goes to war. The latter mostly consisting of running around and in/out of buildings.

Just wishing everyone a happy Turkey Day! Or Thanksgiving as it's normally called.

This weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving, so you Americans don't give me no guff with saying "It's not Thanksgiving yet! That's at the end of November" tongue.gif

It's colder up here so we have it sooner, and it's nice because it goes hand-in-hand with Octoberfest, which is hosted in my hometown due to it's German roots (before WWI, the city's name was actually Berlin).
So beer and sausage for everyone as well!

I'm certainly going to enjoy this long weekend after I'm done work today.
