Actually, I'm glad you did admit it. I was actually considering buying a few crates with my Crowns Xmas present from my son based on hearing about you buying four crates and getting the motif; and IIRC Monkey getting three free crates and getting a rare motif book from them too = figured I might change my luck by actually paying for a set of crates, laugh.gif

Your confession effectively burst the dream balloon; instead I'll buy the Mundus stones with them, laugh.gif

Well there’s an old saying that’s true here too:

If you want to win, you have to play the game.

What this one likes to do is wait until the Crown Store showcase comes out and if there isn’t anything particularly interesting he will spend his free crowns from the ESO+ on crates. That said we are set up for monthly renewal so this may not work for you, depending on how you have it set up.

I agree with you on the "Playing the Game" - but I was just teasing you above when I said you almost had me convinced to buy some, rollinglaugh.gif

Yeah, I've never been tempted by those crates unless they were free; lol. I was just messing with you.

On the Plus membership: I have mine set up on the 6 months renewal; and usually buy myself at least one DLC per each renewal. I plan to buy Clockwork City next (probably on its anniversary date since they usually cut the prices of the DLC down by half on their anniversaries).

That’s a pretty good thing to do too, that way if you cancel + then you still have access to the DLC. Khajiit couldn’t imagine doing such a thing, but who knows?

Yeah, I was really glad I had bought the Dark Brotherhood; Thieves Guild; and Wrothgar before I moved and had all that trouble getting them to change my email address on the game so I could verify that the new IP address was really me. It took them months to fix the issue! I would have been without my favorite DLC for all that time if I hadn't paid for it.

To this day I think the only reason they were able to finally fix it was that I dangled my credit card under their noses promising to max it out on Crowns if they would just let me back into my account, lol. Suddenly they figured out how to fix it, laugh.gif

Trey wandered about Glenumbra, helping find an escaped pig.... All these years, and he's back to dealing with livestock (shakes head).

He also joined the Mages Guild and finally got all the crafting certs (after figuring out that Telleno likes to move around- a LOT).

Sillum and the Harborage may be coming up soon- although there's an assassination plot afoot- of course, he has mixed feelings about helping a king... even if it is nominally HIS king this time....

And then there are some weird vines... so much to do, so little time for a mostly dead Breton ex-adventurer, former alchemist, escaped prisoner. But he does have a nice "free" room at the Rosy Lion now. The candle makes all that emptiness really homey--- rofl. Just kidding- he hardly has time to stay in a room what with all of the above....

You want some furniture for that room? I can make you a bed, a rug, a table and chairs, etc.

I love the in-game description of that room:

The Rosy Lion Inn Room

"This inn has always had the reputation of being the safest place in Daggerfall for common citizens in search of illicit services to meet their shadier counterparts."

But here is the furniture I can make and send you to decorate it with:

Lol, oh ok. Bleakrock Isle is the starting zone for Ebonheart Pact characters and quite a lovely spot. You were probably talking about the Island of Betnik (formally the Island of Betony), which is also a cool place.

And technically, you aren't exactly dead; you are more like ... undead. Mannimarco stole your soul (so you are soul-less). If you hadn't escaped his dungeons in Coldharbour; you would eventually become one of those mindless slaves he has working for him there.

Mannimarco is using the millions of souls he has stolen to power those dark anchors you see dropping out of the sky:

https://i.imgur.com/7CPdzGA.png

Mannimarco has Molag Bal helping him; (which means in order to get your soul back you will have to fight Molag Bal eventually).

But as far as the Prophet and Lyris go; you can take your time about doing that main quest and do it in your own timing. Don't feel pressured by the popping in of the Prophet; because unless they have changed it = best not to go up against Molag Bal before level 45 anyway.

(So just relax and let Trey explore and adventure; and when he is powerful enough; he can go hunting for his soul. Meanwhile you can help the Prophet when you want to, but just don't feel pressured to if you don't want to at any given time).

TheCheshireKhajiit
Ja, Brenna hasn’t even started that questline yet. She has however finished the Daggerfall Covenant mainquest. Well as far a Nirn is concerned anyway. There is still that last part in .
mALX

Believe it or not; even though I have two Daggerfall Covenant characters = Misa (Ebonheart Pact) is the only one who actually completed the Daggerfall Covenant main questline. (Doing Cadwell's Silver).

One of these days she is going to go back to the Daggerfall Provinces and do all their side quests too!

Treydog, it is wise to recall the tagline for Oblivion: Create your own Path

More so in ESO than in Oblivion, I believe.

My four senior characters have all completed their Alliance quests; Maz has completed her Gold (and yes, I snuck a pic of her wearing Caldwell's chamberpot despite her threats of pixel harm), and Alise and Julian have finished their Silver. Argis is halfway through his Silver, having finished Rivenspire on Christmas Day.

Phae, having come along after Vvardenfell dropped, actually did explore the isle pretty thoroughly before returning home to Elden Root. She ducked the Shrouded Lady and headed off to Hew's Bane to honor an agreement she made with a young Altmer. She did not talk to the mysterious stranger until after she had completed the TG quest line. She did talk to the young daughter of Sithis, but something about that person seemed off to her, so Phae never went to the Gold Coast. Currently she is working her way through Grahtwood, still unconvinced that Ayrenn is the answer to the incessant conflict that has torn Tamriel apart.

Between my Maz and mALX, I'm sure we can get your little inn room outfitted in no time! You can always ask for a home tour -- it can give you ideas. It's amazing to see how different people decorate the same little space.

For an MMO, you are indeed in most excellent company, Trey!
treydog
Trey will definitely follow his own path- he is too stubborn to do otherwise laugh.gif

In reference to which, he is probably going back to Stros M'Kai/Port Hunding for a while, feeling that he perhaps did not explore as much as he would like. And then there was this fellow who wanted to sell him a monkey- nothing shady there, surely....

Now that he has some crafting skill, he will also focus on making some furnishings- and drop some of the excess brewing ingredients he is still lugging around- ahem...

Unless they are of use to someone else in the guild- I really hate to just throw anything away. But please let me know if any of you are brewers and I will figure out how to hand off the ingredients you want.

So far I have absolutely LOVED every quest with monkeys in it in this game, lol.

Has Hazmick made it so you can withdraw stuff from the Guild Bank yet? You should be able to take anything you see that you might need out of the Guild Bank; and also pull 2000 gold out from the Guild Bank to buy your Chorrolites Guild Tabard!

That gold in the Guild Bank was put in there specifically to make sure all our members had Tabards to wear whenever they wanted to represent, lol.

To buy the Tabard: Re-activate the banker once you have finished withdrawing whatever you want from the Guild Bank; but this time choose "Guild Store," and use that 2000 gold (you withdrew from the Guild Bank) to pay for the Tabard. It will appear instantly in your inventory; right click on it and choose "Lock" so you don't accidentally lose it.

To put the Tabard on, you just highlight it and press "E" (or activate it with your controller)

treydog
Deposited excess- if I clutter things up too much, just let me know. But I figure someone out there is crafting brews....

Will definitely get the tabard- no need to pull more gold- folks have been (way too) generous.

Now to find that Skyshard I missed in Saintsport....

Trey realized there was much to be done on Betnikh after he finished up at Stros M'Kai, so he traveled there and had a number of adventures with undead (shudder). He also managed to annoy Captain Kaleen- but the Orsimer and the Khajiit master felt he did the right thing- so phooey on her. And besides, anything that means fewer undead (shudder) is a good thing as far as Trey is concerned. He has now reached level 12 and is continuing to pursue crafting, because that is where his heart really lies- he fights because he must, but he would rather be cooking and brewing and creating.

Yeah Mira and Brenna both chose that outcome when they had to make the decision. Kaleen was way off on that situation. Brenna, who is very connected with the natural world believed that the Ayleid relic’s power was an abomination. Mira simply believed that if the Daggerfall Covenant won the war, they should do so by strength of arms/approved magicka disciplines, not through dishonorable use of Ayleid artifacts that enslave the souls of the dead.

I also made that decision and ended up gaining Captain Kaleen's wrath for life. She is under orders of the King; so still HAS to take me as a passenger in her boat if I use it for transport to any of the islands on her route = which years later she still makes sure to tell me it is only by force that I am allowed on her ship, laugh.gif

Acadian
Yeah, I liked Kaleen but made the same decision other did to go against her on this one. Giving one king a superweapon just doesn't sound like a good idea. Even for Daggerfall players. . . unintended consequences and all.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Brenna is currently running around Stormhaven doing all the side quests. There was one really funny quest involving a lady treasure hunting in a delve for a crown that turns out to be cursed. So funny the way that can play out!
Grits
Regarding the Betnikh artifact, even Darnand resisted the temptation to keep the thing for study and preservation, though it nearly killed him to give it up. So Captain Kaleen is mad at him, too. Jerric was unruffled by the Captain’s ire, but that Nicolene broke his heart afterward.

Khajiit, I know the one you mean. Those two are funny in kind of a dysfunctional way.

Trey solved a series of beggar killings (after finally figuring out how to quickslot the healing potions Buffy kindly crafted for him).

He also dealt with part of the Molag Bal plot for the Fighter's Guild, finding Sees-All-Colors to be a compelling and charismatic leader.

He is a bit less impressed with the Mages, who want to send him off to Sheo's realm right after dumping him into an Ayleid ruin full of Aldmeri Dominion. (Not that he minded slaughtering the AD like pigs...) Actually- he mostly sneaked through the shadows and let other people do the killing so he could scoop the books the MG wanted. Some things don't change... even if Trey is an "honorable thief".

And I wanted to add- again- that anyone reading and considering diving into ESO will find the Chorrolites guild to be a wonderful group, generous with supplies, information, and assistance. The game is beautiful as it is- the addition of a community like ours makes it a unique experience- in the BEST way.

And I wanted to add- again- that anyone reading and considering diving into ESO will find the Chorrolites guild to be a wonderful group, generous with supplies, information, and assistance. The game is beautiful as it is- the addition of a community like ours makes it a unique experience- in the BEST way.

Aw, thanks Treydoggie!

I imagine we are all thrilled to have you with us in Tamriel.

Quite so. It’s awesome that we can all hang out and go on adventures with each other in game. Our clan is growing quite strong with all of the recent additions! 2018 is looking bright for The Chorrolites!

This!

I guess Eolan's alone in siding with Kaleen with the reasoning being that it would help the Covenant and have less people killed. Also regarding Nicolene

Trey headed to Eastmarch to check out the New Life Festival invitation he was handed in Stros M'Kai. (It seemed better than going to Sheo's house for some happy hijinks- besides the undead, Trey has an aversion to madness- what with his Corprus experience and all).

From there, he headed to Bergama in the Alik'r and completed the Fire Sprint. Of course, getting to Eastmarch and then to Bergama involved some roundabout travel, because he had not yet discovered wayshrines in those provinces... a problem which is now fixed. After all the dashing about (and dodging various murderous Daedra, banditti, critters, and etc., the Mage Guild request is looking less of a bad thing- at least it is sorta right there in nice, safe Glenumbra).

But now he has a nifty souvenir mug to show all his friends.

Of course, Daggerfall had it's own share of perils, as he assisted the Beldama Wyrd in fighting back the Bloodthorn corruption.

Since he was touring the realm anyway, he also decided to see what this Skaldir in Deshaan wanted. But before he could get there, a rather insistent Dunmeri girl roped him into investigating a "plague" and the people who claimed to be curing it. Nostalgia for Vvardenfell made it impossible for him to turn down the request- even if these Dunmer no longer have the "rasp" in their voices that was once so familiar to him.

A word about quests in areas that aren’t your current focus:
It is very easy to back into main quest segments of other alliances. This plague quest in Deshaan is part of that. This can make doing these quests very difficult so Khajiit recommends not doing any quests in areas unless you are sent to the zone for a continuation of the mainquest for an alliance. This way you take on quests in the correct order and won’t get confused later. This one did one of those Deshaan quests out of order and had a really hard time finishing that questline because Khajiit had no clue where to go next.

Also, sometimes it isn’t obvious where you should go next. After you finish a quest in the mainquest and it doesn’t immediately send you a new quest segment, look around in the general area you are in. There will usually be an NPC nearby that will offer you the next stage of the mainquest.

I found an awesome side questline in the Ebonheart regions that had Misa helping out some Ashlanders (before the Morrowind expansion came out) = some very cool quests:

Mira just did those ashlander quests to get the Stonefalls Adventurer achievement! They were fun!

Trey finally decided to see what Mighty Mordra the Orismer wanted- and after some hesitation (spiders? why does it have to be SPIDERS?!) decided to take her up on her offer.

But, as might be expected, he got sidetracked. First, there were some Lion Guard people who were in a tussle with the Aldmeri Dominion. Since Trey's feelings about the AD make his attitude toward the old Septim Empire seem mild- he was happy to get into the fight. Note to anyone not aware- getting the second weapon bar and using the Snipe ability with a fire bow and sneaking is a beautiful thing- just saying.

So, after saving some scouts (and they didn't even offer him any cookies ohmy.gif ), he helped a different Orismer who had managed to get himself captured by the cultists who seem to infest the whole of Tamriel. Meanwhile, he also got into a treasure hunt in Dresan Keep which involved a ghost. As it turned out, there were a couple of ghosts... but the conclusion (and the treasure) were quite satisfactory to Trey.

So, some of that faffing about caused him to have to go to Aldcroft, where- you guessed it- he found yet more things to keep him from going and facing the spiders (eek).

Heh, sounds like Trey is having a grand ol’ time! Khajiit remembers the first time Mira encountered a giant snake. We both nearly “soiled our armor”. laugh.gif

Maz is with Trey on that one! She is severely arachnophobic, and when she walked into Spindleclutch, we got goosebumps and quivering knees when we saw that first cluster of spiders just past the Fighters Guild crew. She's okay if they're smaller than your feet, but these . . . !!

She didn't go back in until we were part of a group and the others gave her the courage she needed to push through.

The phobia is still there, but much more manageable - she's learned to call on Mauloch's rage to deal with the fear. That Spider Queen boss inside a certain cave in Grahtwood didn't stand a chance.
TheCheshireKhajiit
There is a World Boss near Alcaire in Stormhaven y’all should probably stay away from...

Trey saved Duke Sebastien from the cultists... that provisioning skill came in handy to prevent there being a roast Duc in the tower.... Thank you. Thank you. I'll be here all week. Be sure and tip your atronach.

He also met Sibellec in the fens... her attitude toward the whole "good vs. evil" thing rather grated on his Redoran sensibilities, but she did give him a nifty amulet for his next boss fight- so he might actually survive this one...

In the meanwhile, he completed his first provisioning writ. Woo Hoo- what wine goes with this fishy stick?

Sickly Bernice's Roofwater Wine. Or rather, that wine doesn't go with anything else.

Today in Tamriel...

Mira clenched the achievement Deshaan Adventurer and then moved on to set things right in Shadowfen. Even after the Pact’s campaign there, she is finding many people in need of assistance against all manner of foes. Currently, she is one decision away from either helping a settlement of living skeletons find peace in final death or cementing their continued existence in this undead state. Either decision will earn Mira some enemies from the faction of skeletons that favor the opposite outcome from what she chooses, but she knows what she thinks is right and just, and nothing will sway her from her decision...

Interesting- Trey was also in Shadowfen.... He intended to relax and do a little fishing, but what with crocodiles, wamasu, plague husks, and people wanting his help....

Yeah- it didn't work out. After trying to catch a few fish (and getting jumped by some critters), he gave it up and went back to crafting writs. After all, 3 shields and 6 bows is better than what the answer to "So what's biting?" turned out to be.

Sounds like Trey would rather face almost anything rather than tackle those spiders, lol.

I Loved this quest! Still have the skeleton polymorph it gave us! THIS is one of the quests I wanted to do for the Witches Festival Guild meeting; but we ended up just doing the polymorph goblin. Still I love that goblin too!
