Greys if you dont know what a grey is you're a retard
Lord Revan

To the retards that don't know what greys are off the top of their heads (most people don't really talk about greys compared to other more important topics)-

The aliens that some people believe abduct people to experiment on them, and ride around in UFOs. They have funky big heads and eyes. They're shorter than we are (like three feet tall) and have grey skin (hence their name). coolgrin.gif

Have you ever wondered what the cold reaches of space is like? The extreme nothingness that floats around us constantly? The same feeling you had when you were a child and bumps and noises kept you up? The dark cosmos that contain this speck of a planet, what is out there? Is there nothing? Are we a loophole? Was the planet supposed to be extinct because of the Black Plague? Think about it... Nothingness is what i am afraid of...

My new thoughts on the topic cause I saw it and I want to thought it up.

Having fear... is so un zen. Let me tell you a story to explain what I mean.

Last week I was in the dorms from which I was banned and have already received a criminal trespassing charge for being found in. I don't think there's anything wrong with me innocently seeing my lazy friends that refuse to go outside and see me. But unfortunately... it's still illegal because I got caught drinking too many times.

So an eye-witness, one of the student staff-members, saw me and reported me to the building supervisor. He came to the room in question and knocked on the door announcing, "Hall Staff!"

Now keep this in mind, were I caught one more time, I would have received a felony. I was absolutely terrified. I hid wedged behind a bed and a fridge trying to make myself as small as possible. The area supervisor was too short to see me since he wasn't allowed in the room, but he demaned they reveal me. Convinced I was in there, he demanded the occupants open one of the closets. They were pretty harshly refusing making him convinced I was in a closet, so finally when they opened it he was sort of just... stuck. It was funny.

Back to the topic, as I mentioned I used to have irrational fears but because the police were actually trying to ruin my good day, and nearly all authority figures I dealed with in the dorms were really out to get me, the became a real fear. There was a purpose behind fearing them, but fear is really just your senses getting wider and your body getting prepared for some action. Having a fear when there is presently nothing frightening is brooding about what might happen. It's natural to become afraid of high places or whatnot but it's unzen to let fear get in the way of your willingness to participate in life. Fear is just the feeling of becoming prepared to handle some real business.

When you get nervous around a girl you like, it's because your body knows something raw is possibly happening. Fear means your body wants you to talk to her, get het to know you.

So for me... it's not fear, it's excitement. Besides, you get like the best euphoria ever after you conquer a fear. It's like you just let some weight loose from your shoulders. Trust me, I used to be afraid of the bloody mary ghost story, so eventually I just had to hide myself in a dark closet with a mirror in it and just sit there until I was no longer afraid.

You make some good points. Too bad most of the things I am afraid of are not something I can get over easily, or really need to get over, otherwise I would take your advice.

Greatest fear? I suppose mine would probably be Spiders, especially those huge Chicken eating ones in the jungle. *Gulp*
I'm also pretty afraid of clowns, I've had bad experiences with them.
I'm also afraid that aliens are excact replicas of ourselves, and that when found, no one will know how to react and the world will lose control.

Not everyone reacts that way, the chemical released in the body which gives you the euphoria is only released for certain people so while you may feel good after defeating your fear, other people may have the same feeling after as you did while you were afraid.

Isn't fear what makes us carnal anyways?
Aren't the three carnal senses fear, rage, and hunger?

Hmm, fear? I'd say heights. I always get the sweat going from that. Oh, and balls. The countless times I got a hard ball in my face by pure accident (even after I'd moved to a 'safe place') must have paid off. Whenever I hear about a sport that involves kicking or throwing balls at people, I go all shivery. The fact that half the class is a bunch of show-offs who love nothing more but to show how hard they can kick/throw that ball after their years of playing sports doesn't help much either.

But spiders, insects? I'm not scared at all. It is rather funny, seeing how my whole family goes in a panic at seeing a single bee buzz around, and me just looking at it. I still wouldn't go near any bug I know to be lethally poisonous, like that black widow spider in Australia. No way, mister. You just stay down there, on the other side of the globe.

I used to have a fear of looking into someone's eyes. I just got a strange feeling when doing it. I've gotten over it now, though I still don't look into other people's eyes as much as other people do.

I also have a primal fear of dogs. Whenever I see a dog I can't help but feel a deep sense of fear, and imagine the dog suddenly jumping on me and bitting me. This happens to the level that I avoid dogs on the street and sometimes refuse to leave my house if there's a dog outside. I know it's irrational, and I always go about telling myself mentally:

"They have no business with me...They have no business with me"

But it doesn't always work. Also, if I'm running, if I see a dog I just freeze.

I think this fear may have something to do with a few dogs attacking me when I was little.
