Yeah well, he tosses cars at you initially but then there's the dialogue where he tries to get you to leave, which you can btw, but that's when you fail the quest. Are you saying he immediately attacked Brigitte with no prior dialogue?

Well looking back at the pic I posted for this part of the game, it seems that there may have been an attempt at talking. IDK man, my memory is really bad for this quest.
mirocu
I remember the final part very well, even after so many years not playing. He makes sense, never killed anyone innocent at all, so I wanted to spare him initially.

Anyway, wanna talk about the Giovanni mansion? Hoot and a half that place, eh? tongue.gif

He was a lot like our character, I suppose!

Giovanni mansion was interesting. I liked the two way mirrors and secret passages. The real fun was the basement though! Zombies, and the Kuei Jinn at the end of it all! (I know you hate the zombie parts, lol)

I didn't actually realize that until you just said it! It totally makes sense why I wanted to spare him now! blink.gif

Ugh. Yeah, the zombies are so annoying. Especially since they constantly respawn and latch on to you and the BRAAAAIINSSSSS meter comes up! tongue.gif

Didn't mind the Kuei Jin brothers at the end though. I also kinda liked the Hengeyokai fight in Chinatown.
TheCheshireKhajiit
As far as zombies go, my favorite mission involving them is the 9th Circle one. The one that takes place in Hollywood Forever can piss off.
mirocu
I just think they're annoying all around rollinglaugh.gif
TheCheshireKhajiit
Thoughts on Gargoyle.
mirocu
Managed to get him to side with Isaac on my first playthrough (Gangrel). A little harder with Malk because I have no friggin clue what they're supposed to be saying! tongue.gif

Never bothered fighting him since I never put any points in melee and shooting him is useless. And downright impossible to get away from him since they did a good job making sure he can follow you wherever you go in the theatre.
TheCheshireKhajiit
If memory serves, it was Strauss’ creation, right?
mirocu
Yes; the Tremere. That's why he hates the Tremere most of all. Btw, I think they did a really good job on the gargoyle's character model. Feels really life-like when he talks.

What about Ash? I remember getting him out through the sewers instead of using the doppelganger to fool the hunter.

Yeah the Gargoyle is definitely a highlight of the Hollywood section. That’s not saying a lot though. tongue.gif

I honestly can’t remember how Brigitte dealt with the Ash vs. The Hunters situation.

Easily overshadowed of course by Vesuvius.

Eh? Eh?

Yeah biggrin.gif

Always liked the Asp Hole. Fits the game perfectly with its haunting melancholy atmosphere highlighted of course by the excellent music. I also like how we come across Ash later in the caves under the monestary.

Heh, with a cross burned onto his forehead.

Jack is actually wrong about crosses not working. In the World of Darkness, if a cross is wielded by someone who is a true believer, it will work.

Yeah, messes him up. Kinda fun we get to rescue him twice tongue.gif

Well, I blame that on different universes. Works in the World of Darkness but not in the deprived world of modern day Los Angeles tongue.gif

The true damsel in distress, lol

V:TMB is part of the World of Darkness universe. I think it can be argued that Ash was burned by someone wielding a cross. It *could* have been a branding iron, but as far as I can remember, it wasn’t confirmed in game or out.

Oh yeah, silly Crow. It is part of that universe kvleft.gif

Well, the monestary does have some people with real powers such as Grünfeld Bach. We see him demonstrating his powers in the boss fight so I guess he's one who can wield crosses as a weapon. I think what Jack meant is it doesn't work if just anyone tries it, as we see in that Mandarin room with the "Van Helsing experiment" laugh.gif

Lol, yeah that was just some poor nine to fiver who was told to stand in this room and wave the cross at whatever came through the door. Definitely not a “true believer”!

Favourite haven - Santa Monica, Downtown apartment, the Nosferatu lair or the Tremere chantry?

I really liked the Tremere chantry, really cozy place. Only problem is you get it so late in the game that you rarely have reason to return to it like you do Santa Monica or Downtown apartment.
TheCheshireKhajiit
My personal favorite is the Chantry Apartment. That said, I believe that one is only available to Clan Tremere. Brigitte missed out on the Downtown apartment. I think she said something “The Jester Prince” didn’t like. Which is fine. The Santa Monica apartment suited her just fine.

I kinda want to do another playthrough as a Ventrue Cammy loyalist and take down LaCroix with a smile and a handshake.
mirocu
As much as I like the Santa Monica apartment, the Downtown one is pretty swanky. IF at some point I would go for it again I would get it and take things slow in order to appreciate said swankiness biggrin.gif

I never did go the Cammy route, nor the Lone Wolf one. I only did the blow-oneself-up one and the Anarchs since the game makes it easy to side with them.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Brigitte’s was lone wolf ending.
mirocu
Has Khajiit only played VtMB once?
TheCheshireKhajiit
QUOTE(mirocu @ May 30 2025, 11:03 AM) *

Has Khajiit only played VtMB once?

3 times to completion.

First and second playthroughs were back in the 00s. Ventrue and Tremere, respectively. Ventrue got blowed up along with LaCroix, Tremere betrayed the Kindred and sided with the Kuei Jin. Third time was Brigitte.
mirocu
Interesting. So your first character did the same thing as my first character laugh.gif

I've played it five times through btw and started a sixth but stopped as early as the beach house because I couldn't stomach going through it all once again tongue.gif
TheCheshireKhajiit
That’s why I’m holding off on doing another playthrough. Heck, it took me a hot minute to complete Brigitte’s playthrough.
mirocu
Yeah.

I don't even have it installed anymore, or the Camarilla Edition mod, so that's a thing holding me back. But I don't mind. If I at some point really wanna play it again I can just install it again. If the discs still work tongue.gif
TheCheshireKhajiit
I keep it installed. I have a 1tb HDD and a 1tb Samsung SSD so storage isn’t really a problem on my pc, lol
mirocu
It wasn't storage for me, it was the fact I was so tired of the game so I uninstalled it as a therapy thing laugh.gif

Yeah tongue.gif

BUT! What about the Marie Elena Elizabeth Dane? How did Khajiit usually do that; by sneaking up to the sarcophagus or watching it through the deck cam?

I think Brigitte snuck up to it. Obfuscation.
mirocu
What about Ventrue and Tremere?

As for me I think I used the cam with all but Malks. Could be wrong as my first playthrough was so long ago.

Do not remember, lol. I didn’t remember the mission when I came to it in Brigitte’s game so it felt like doing it for the first time. indifferent.gif
