Same story as always tongue.gif

QUOTE(minque @ Apr 30 2005, 01:22 AM)
This is meant to be a place where you can talk about anything without having to stay on topic. Feel free to ask questions, to talk about the things in your life you like to share with your fellow-members. Or just step inside for a while, have a coffe and a good chat!
You may feel free to post whatever you like as long as it is within the rules of the forum.
But if the conversation degrades to spam, you will be treated as though you are spamming anywhere else on the forum. This is a thread where you can relax and talk about personal things, but it is not to be used as an excuse to make pointless posts.
Please help to keep this alive and well and a place where we can meet and share.
Enjoy your stay here!!! wink.gif  biggrin.gif

And the rules:
QUOTE(Alexander @ May 29 2005, 11:47 AM)
We had intended the coffee shop to be a nice place where people could talk about their daily activities and such, kinda like the Lurkers Lair on the Official Forums.
It didn't quite turn out that way though, people have been taking advantage of their freedoms in here, there has been a lot of spamming and even some flaming. We will not tolerate that any longer.
So unfortunately we've had to decide to increase the rules for this thread. Of course the normal forum rules still apply, but we'll elaborate here.:
1. No spamming.
We consider double posting and posting posts with only a few words to be spam. If you do that your post will be deleter or moved, do it too often and you might receive a warning for it.
We also consider chit-chat spam. This forum has a special chat channel for chatting, you're welcome to go there, and chat with other members or with the staff as we're always there, doing it in here is not allowed.
The address to that chatroom is:
W4O chat
And for assistence to use a chat like this, I recommend looking over this thread:
http://forums.waiting4oblivion.com/viewtopic.php?t=248
Or contacting one of the Administrators.
2. No discussion of accounts or warnings.
There shall be no more discussion about members, about accounts, about how many warnings you've gotten or anything like that.
3. No trolling.
No posting of random nonsense, no posting of irrelevant things, no posting the same thing over and over just to get it noticed, no swearing or flaming.
4. No religion or politics.
No discussion about religion or politics is to be had in these threads. If you want to discuss religion or politics, please do make another thread, or if another such thread already exists, please post in it.
If you have a question about the rules of the forums, feel free to ask it to either a Global Moderator or an Administrator.
If you're unsure if something is fit to post here, it might be. Again best to ask a Global Moderator or Administrator.
If you're wondering how we think a Lair or the Coffee Shop should look like, what we do allow, then I recommend taking a look at the Lurkers Lair at the Official Forums.

*grumble* at least you have Kingdom Hearts 2  I envy you, thats an awsome game.

Yes, it is a really good game, especially if you liked the first one.

It is very suprising that Disney can help make a really good game like that.

In this one, Mickey has a more active role on the plot. (Something might even happen if Sora falls in battle in some Boss Battles.) That alone can make it more interesting.

He even seems more serious than one would expect from Mickey, which is also very interesting in itself.

More on the Review: For storyline, the intro part. (Similar to awkening in the first game) Is way longer. It took Rainer a good 2 some hours to finish it. You also learn some interesting things in that 2 hours. smile.gif

The Storyline transfer from the forst to the second is seamless. In fact, it makes it feel like the the second game is like a continuation of the orginial story instead of an entirely new one (this will become apparent later on.) Overall, superb.

Combat is no longer entirely comprised of button mashing, There are now Drive forms, Limit Attacks, and Reaction Commands. Drive forms are aquired through the plot. (Except for two, one appears randomly throughout the game and the other one appeares randomly in a certan world.) There are hidden factors to determine what the chance of these forms appear as. One is detrimtental to combat, and the other is highly beneficial. (Although the "bad" one is the one that appears most often, and the chance of getting it increases in some critical moments, making Drive a bit of a gamble at some points.)

Limit attacks can be unleashed with certain characters. they consume all of Sora's MP when used, but a new feature called MP charge will charge the MP gauge once it is all gone, so you can use Limits more than once in Battle.

Reaction commands are commands that are used with the triangle button, and can be used to help greatly in certain battles. Adds a whole extra level of fighting with bosses.

Items can now be used on the shortcut menu, Patry members can be switched in combat without the need of the menu. (Menu still does not appear in combat though)

Overall mark: God biggrin.gif

How do I use smileys?

Standard method, type them in manually, like teh regular smile.gif, or when you use the reply buttong, to the left of the window you type in there's a few smilies, below them is a show all button too smile.gif
Oh and welcome to the forums

Kingdom hearts never interested me. It seemed too kiddie, and almost too much merging of genres. You have the familiar disney characters mixed in with some anime fellow....

Megil Tel-Zeke
you would be surprised dantrag. I thought the same thing till I played it. boy was I wrong. the gameplay is great and so is the story, though graphics can get a bit kiddy at times it fits the game.

Ahhh delightful, the little coffee shop is open again. Ibis slurps from a huge cup of Java, slyly opens her purse & pours in the secret ingredients that turn java into cappucino .... ahhhhh, wonderful coffee served here!! biggrin.gif

Sounds like an interesting game you are discusing. Am I to understand that this is a Disney game? Now that I think of it, seems like they oughta be bigger in the gaming industry.

Oh for the record ... I did know that people could read grey printing on gray page. It was just a silly joke. Kinda like those people who do the very loud whispering. Pretending that they think no one can hear them when really they intend for everyone to strain their ears and listen to every word. tongue.gif

Oh well, it was a fun night at least laugh.gif.

I truly never liked kingdom hearts, the storyline was just too weird. But the game engine and how it played is fun. When I played it awhile back it was fun. I dont plan to buy it, though.
Good thing is about it, is that it was made for younger kids, so they would be able to see characters they love and get the great storyline making of Square-Enix. Obviously it wasnt only young kids who liked it tongue.gif

Gyah...Ive been sleep depraved all school year, it hits summer and I get the right amount of sleep then end up staying up all night. I just now gave up (6:30 AM) at going to sleep, as I would only get 2 hours of sleep. Maybe Ill get my sleep schedule back on track since Ill of been up for more than 24 hours...

That is the thing that Turns away so many people is that they cannot see past the Disney aspect. Rainer is in high school and he loves it, mainly because it is almost Nostalgic.

But KH2 matures alot over KH1. Even Mickey lost his extremely high pitched voice and now talks a bit lower. (although it is the same voice) KH2 also has less cartoony graphics, and not to mention the Orginazation is now in play, meaning more serious story plot.

All in all, overall leap in maturity. It is funny when they say KH is for elementery schoolers when Mickey looks like This

There is also the Orginization XIII

And then there is Axel

Not very Child-like at all.

I played a little of kindom hearts one and two... I hated it... the darn dude with the white hair was unbeatable in the very begining... when he is sitting on that palm tree... by the way I thought that game was a joke... it made everything look so "kiddie"... and kingdom heart 2 was not much different from the original in my eyes... o well... by the way has anyone seen "Full Metal Jacket"... that is a freaking awesome movie... poor "pile" he has my sympathy... why did he have to go out like that?... o well... at least he did not kill "joker"...
Foster
Just got out of my first exam (on Pharmacy law and practice)... urgh. I think it went okay, but right now I'm completely drained. Most of it was pretty much alright (ie I think I knew it), though I had to do some serious blagging as regards Amiodarone interactions with Warfarin and Digoxin. Fortunately, it seems that I've somehow managed to actually get in the general region of a right answer (if in doubt, just say 'the P450 enzymes in the liver' and you've got an 80% chance of being right)...so I think it went okay. Not too bad, could have been worse.

Now I've just got another 3. Or 4. Blurgh.

Ah, that be Riku. And yes, he is a [shedog]. closedeyes.gif

You must face him twice along the main story plot. First time is okay. Second time gave Rainer more trouble than it was worth. Took him 6 attempts. mad.gif

And the graphics did give everything a cartoony look, so you are right in that respect.

I played the first Kingdom Hearts for a little while. It didn't really interest me too much. I thought it was very kiddie-like, and I didn't much care for the disney characters, or the concept of the "heartless" enemies.

Call me old fashioned, but, I like to shoot things.

Okay my house is infested with house flies..... mad.gif

literalle 30+ of them. the dead ones I killed with bug spray are still buzzing after almost an hour after Isprayed them..... the dead are in the reange of 28. and I count at least 12 more live ones..... any ideas where houseflies in such large quantities appear in less than 24 hours, with all doors shut and locked, same for windows?
1234king
i to have the same problem in my room, it's probably because my rooms quite messy. i dont like to use bug spray, i like to do it the old fashion way and smack em with my swatter.
Ibis
Megil, sounds like you had eggs layed somewhere and they just have hatched.

King, although our house isn't messy, in Florida you get visitors through the drain pipes that are called palmetto bugs. They are like huge roaches and can fly and can grow up to 3-4 inches long. I am the main palmetto bug smasher in our house, me & my trusty flip-flop sandal.

But for smaller flying bugs may I make a suggestion? I shall introduce you to the SPIDER. Let spider spin webs in the unobtrusive corners of your house and your flying bug problem will vanish. blink.gif

Because my house is bloody ancient (200+ years), there are many ways that insects get in. Now, a few years ago, my fouse was infested with ants. We put ant poisons down, we made sure they had no food and we killed them by the hundreds, but it seemed all hope was lost. That was, until a few spiders caught on. They entered from my basement and fed solely on the ants, and withing a few weeks every ant was dead and most of the spiders left.

Now because its summer in Ontario, we have mosquitoes(sp?) all over the province and in our home. This isn't too big a problem, because the spiders, once again, caught on. Combined, me and a single spider killed thirty in one day. Now if you do get spiders in your house, do not let them lay eggs. If you have a soft spot for arachnids, try to catch the pregnant females in a jar and release it far from the house. Do not move it with your hand or just a piece of paper, because they are more prone to bite. If you lack a soft spot for arachnids, kill the egg carriers.

Hope that helps.

Edit: Congratulations Wolfie! Fly! Fly freely!

I live by woods, our house is also covred n spiders, we grew used to them, we jsut tearr down their webs when they get icky with litter, then the next day we have nice clear and clean webs rebuilt.

Rainer had a real scary expereince with a spider once.

when His family was comming home from vacation, Rainer went to his room to go to sleep, when he ran into a web strand on his light fixture connecting to his desk. Rainer put it aside, and fell into sleep. '

He woke up in the middle of he night, opened his eyes, and found a big spider hanging right in front of his face. ohmy.gif

Rainer had to use a lot of willpower to keep quiet, he tried to roll off his bed, when the spider suddenly dropped, Indicating that The spider's web strand was connected on Rainer's body. Rainer almost screamed, grabbed his sandal, and pounded on the spider untill it was flat.

Rainer normally is ok with spiders, but having a spider web being made on you while you sleep was a bit too close to Rainer's personal comfort. wacko.gif

mplantinga
So, I don't know if this is just urban legend, but it is said that the average person eats one or more spiders in their lifetime while sleeping. Rainer should be grateful he woke up before the spider was in Rainer's mouth.

We're pratically bug-gobblers. But then again just consider how many bugs live in your bed, feeding off your skin every night. It's great.

I always liked these kind of threads.

Since I finished my finals at uni I have been making a half arsed attempt at finding a job. I'm looking at various ads but don't see anything I could actually do. So many jobs want experience these days you end up rather lost when you want to find that first proper job. One that will actualy train you to do a job. I still have no idea about what kind of job I even want. Priority at the moment is getting *something* so I can pay for bills/rent/food/beer

Also seem to have issues with friends... After a spout of internet drama of sorts elsewhere on thw web, I can't tell if one of my friends is still pissed of at me (would take a long time to explain exactly what happened in the form that your average layman could comprehend the issues). In the meantime, my MSN name now reads "Ramirez - Filthy Turncoat", but thats probably another internet community that doesn't want me around any more.
Ibis
Oh my - we'll have to keep an eye on you, Ramirez. Well, I come from a long line of Torries, so I understand the idea of being misunderstood in your own land. hehe *just kidding, I think*

Anyway, what is your job expertise? And what are you looking for now to pay bills? What did you study at Univ?
Ramirez
So you see my avatar, my signature, and then decide it's a good idea to inform me you area tory??? tongue.gif Doubt I need an eye kept on me either, I just need to avoid putting my foot in it again tongue.gif

Job expertise... well, I've spent 2 summers cleaning a supermarket and thats pretty much it. Which kinda sucks really. I don't really know what I'm looking to study at the moment. Studies law but I would need to take another course toactually practice as a barrister/solicitor and

1) I can't afford to
2) I do't really want to at the moment

So... I shall drop into some employment agencies tomorrow and hope they can come up with something... although I foresee myself stacking shelves on a supermarket for a while to be honest sad.gif

EDIT

On a side note, why do I keep seeing "Google.com" on the active users list???

Actually no.

Google Bot comes here on its own. It regularily visits every web page out there - how often it visits individual sites depends on how often it thinks they'll be updated. A forum is in constant flux, so you'll see google bot around here quite frequently. The reason why you never saw it on the Elderscrolls.com forums back when they were still showing names of active members was that they disabled that feature in their configuration. I can only guess to avoid pointless threads like "Look mah, google's here!" tongue.gif

Anyway, what it does is it tries to go everywhere and look at everything and if something's new or changed, it adds that to its databases so people can find it when they're searching. But it doesn't happen as you search - that would be far too slow smile.gif

I think I finally solved the fly problem. 140+ flies later >.< (this is the number of counted flies, there were many that went uncounted so probably more in the range of 160-200 flies)

We ended up buying insect spray, and I put the cat in the garag with it's kkitty litter and fod and then locked it in there. I then sprayed all the rooms ont he lowest floor (this si where allt he flies were) Then after about 15 minutes I returned downstairs and resprayed the live flies that seemed more resistent to the spray. After about 45 minutes, I got the vacuum cleanr and vacuumed up all the dead/dying flies.

I then proceeded to get cleaning supplies to cxlean all teh surfaces on the ground floor (to get rid of residual spray that could make the cat ill. I then noted that a fly would occasionally be in the living room, and could hear buzzing from somewhere in there. so after careful inspectiona nd the use of a flashlight I found about 30 more behind the fireplace cover. so I sprayed the entire interior surface of the fireplace. after those flies died I vacuumed them up, and so far haven't seen anymore *fingers crossed and knockng on wood*

so now I am dp cleaning every room downstairs (good news is they could use it) to prevent any residual bugspray on surfaces the cat can reach. I am a bit overprotective you could say, but it would suck for the cat to get sick :S

Hi Sweeties!
Yup I´vé got a new router!.(manufacturer´s lightning-warranty!!)....But BOTH my comp´s are smashed by lightning! The old crappy one I´ll get back tomorrow, but my´best one, the lappy is totally DEAD! The network-card is out and also some connector between the loading-device and the battery! So I´ve been on battery for some days, ferociously playing morrowind....then the darn comp died and was not to be restarted again!

My hacker-friend measured the voltage and put the diagnosis: DEAD..has to be sent in to the manufacturer! IF I´m lucky...I´ll get a new one! The warranti is still valid so....wish me luck!

Oh aye....My friend has taken out the harddrive! On which my entire "life" is stored!..Oh yes my story f.ex!

Tomorrow I´ll get the oldie back....it was just the net-part that was damaged, but that one has no network-card so I´ll see if I can use a LAN-adapter!

I´m currently sitting on a comp I borrowed from work! Hopefully nobody will mind!

But I´m sooo happy to be back..and I will thank you all for your nice words in the "picture-thread" and my "disconnection-thread"

It´s really heart-warming to be that missed!

I love you all!
