As you all know,or don't know,I am back from my Writer's-Block-Break. Yes,the excellent master of writing is back. Now,any big reader/science-fiction buff knows the book "Farenheit 451". And if he doesn't,then he is a failure at being a big reader/science-fiction buff. "Farenheit 451" was written by the master of Science-Fiction,Ray Bradbury,in the 50's I believe. It's a classic about censorship, set in a future where Firemen are fire-starters instead of fire-stoppers. Reading books of any kind is extremely illegal and is punishable by the burning of the books and the houses they are contained in,and the committment to an insane asylum of the reader. Books are considered nonsense about people who don't exist,or about something that makes no sense. Anyway to make a long story short, everybody knows how I like ripping off stories,so I'm going to write my own version of "Farenheit 451" with many details changed (I'm not going to copy the actual book you know.
Anyway I want to know your opinion on this idea. Tell me if you like it. If you do,great. If you don't,then tough it's my book and I'll do what I want to. See ya! smile.gif

you mean put it in an ES timeframe, replace the amendments with decrees and things like that? Exellent. Go for it, in fact.

Although it does seem somewhat ironic that the only place you'll find this book is in a safehouse for censored books...

Naah. I'd say H.G. Wells is the master of sci-fi.

I like the idea. I've been wanting to read that book for some time now but haven't been able to find it. I hear it's good, though. goodjob.gif

Well the Empire does not like the idea of the burning of books and blindly sees this tale as more of an encouragement to the burning of books, rather than a warning.

I would call him the father of sci-fi, with ray bradbury being the son of sci-fi, and Douglas Adams as the eccentric Uncle. biggrin.gif

Don't forget the Godfather of Sci-Fi,Gene Roddenberry.

Well, considering you bumped up a thread from the beginning of September last year...

It is probaly in best interest to close this thread (if a Mod pops by) or to let this die untill the OP finishes his book.
