I love retro games myself, I think there's so much more fun to be had with them, IMO anyways. Though they are a lot more repetitive, you don't get bored of them, eg: Streets of rage is one of the most fun games ever, even though there is only about five moves in it, yet you get sick of most modern games like tekken 5 in a couple of hours. Also, they were so much more challenging, Tekken on medium is as hard as tekken 5 on ultra hard, these days, I have to put every game on its hardest difficulty setting to enjoy it, and its usually still fairly easy.

I'm a big fan of really old games myself, there's nothing that could beat one of those old-style adventures like Monkey Island!

As much as I love Street Fighters 2, I gotta go modern.

I like today's games a lot but retro games had a lot more to them. I mean today's games are just duct-tapped together and have crap-butt storylines.... I will miss Donkey Kong 64 and Super Mario Brothers+Duck Hunter

Tough choice... I am a bit dissapointed by how short most modern games turn out. It's as if all the developers care about nowadays are good graphics.
I guess I'm just old-fashioned. I still enjoy Tie-Fighter, Ultima: Underworld I and II, and even Doom and Doom2. (I know some of these are fairly short, but they just seem to be more entertaining to me than the newer games out.)

I like 'em both, I geuss.
While I like playing old games like GoldenEye or something, I do like playing something modern like Halo 2.

Retro has it's own warm hearted vibe. But that's all it is, nastolgia. Older games like Perfect Dark and Goldeneye were (and are) great games, but they have been far surpassed by the modern games of our age. You can always look to the past but you can't live in it.

My heart has to go to modern... Sure theres something special about the older games but theres nothing more exciting then the newer ones...

There is a race of games out now are heartless pieces of fibre-glass and plastic, made with repetitive moments that include minimally exciting points, made by evil and greedy people as a means to take money from the game hungry public. I call these games, "Astrothicsatanuses", or "EA games".
Which leads me to vote for retro. Go classic Prince of Persia!

Need for Speed 2 Underground is an awsome EA game, as well as any NCAA game they have..

It's not just EA but also Vivendi Universal, the richest corporation in the gaming industry (which is really only rich because their corporation ALSO privatizes water in third world countries so people can't afford water, and if they revolt and make sure they get water, the corporation sues the country. That was the key point I used to win my debate when I argued clean drinking water should be a right ratified in the consitution)
