hmm the question explain it all. and i was bored, and seeing that many are europeans i thought there may actually be people who know what it is. for those who don't visit www.marmite.com

Itīs some yeast-extract huh? I donīt know how it taste.....but if itīs sweetish I might like it...someone tell me mort personally how it taste and operhaps compare it with someīthing else...like maple-syrup or so...

it's salty, not sweet. and it's one of those unique tasting things, can't really compare it to anything. blink.gif

Hmmm salty huh? Well I haīve tasted yeast extract in the form of dry flakes and that is pretty good...so well I donīt know maybe itīs good?? blink.gif

alright putting it bluntly. you get yeast that's left over from fermentation. then they are broken down and concentrated, put through a secret recipe and voila, marmite.
