Full Version: Resources for how to deal damage in ESO

Burnt Sierra
Given some of the discussions that have been happening, I thought it might be useful to create a resource topic where everything needed can be found in one place. So, I'm going to put Youtube links, and websites where applicable, to the various aspects, as a "where did I see, read, hear that." There are so many sites, sets, build video's out there, it can be overwhelming, and many of the popular sites/streamers that were useful back a few years ago, no longer play the game, even though their site and channels are updated with new videos.

So, first up, penetration, critical damage and light and heavy attack weaving. (Please click the bolded titles.)

Secondly, sets. There's a LOT of sets. So, here's some links to help you decide which ones will work for you.

Let's start with a link to a "one size fits all" approach. So not min/maxed, but a "you really can't go wrong with this" approach.

ONE SIZE FITS ALL

Now that does use a trial set, and his suggestion is to use Order's Wrath if you don't have that, but there are many other options, and depending on your class some obviously stronger options. It's almost like we could do with a tierlist...oh, wait, thanks to Mr. Skinny Cheeks, we have that

TIERLIST FOR DD SETS

Keep in mind that list is for update 42, so Azureblight has been changed, but everything else mentioned is still up to date. He also has a Monster Set list on his site too, if you don't want to run a mythic, but bear in mind that Stormfist has been nerfed to Oblivion in this latest patch

Next, skills. Depending on the class you play, how do you know which skills are going to work for you? Luckily Ninja Pulls has created an excellent series of guides on that exact topic. (Except Wardens. Whether that might come I'm not sure, as Wardens tend to be used as healers in endgame, not DD. I love playing a Warden DD, but I do think they lend themselves more to an Oakensoul Build - more on that soon.)

Which leads us to Build Video's.

Oakensoul Builds, Velothi builds, Other Mythics, Monster Set builds, Heavy Attack builds, Solo builds where you sacrifice damage for survivability. There are a LOT of builds out there on the internet. Here are some links to Content Creators, that I've personally found extremely useful, when I've been trying to create my own builds, and figuring out what works and why. One of the reasons I've picked all of these, is they don't just list the skills and gear, but they also go into detail explaining why they've made those choices.

For one bar, learning to 2 bar, and solo builds my absolute favourite is DOOMA FROM THE GAMEROOM and his Youtube link is THE GAMEROOM

For a combination of starter and end game builds, I highly recommend EIGH1 PUPPIES Some of his videos are very long, and very in depth, but do have time stamps if you're wanting to jump to a particular section.

The generally classed as "Gold Standard" for DPS is Skinny Cheeks, though he seems to be taking a step back at the minute, but information is all still relevant. YOUTUBE and WEBSITE

The aforementioned NINJA PULLS who's just become the latest member of the ESO Stream Team. And his website is HERE which has a list of everything, including how the latest patch updates effect classes, skill and sets.

Another with a mix of everything, from builds, to guides (including superb Dungeon Mechanic Guides) is XYNODE and his website is HERE

For pretty much exclusively solo builds, ESO VAULT has some good ones, and explains them very well.

And if you want to see how the top end game players parse, the sets they use, check out RY and CHARLES

Personally, I only use those above two as inspiration, as I simply CANNOT get even close to that many skills on the go all at once, but impressive to see, and can make you consider a set or Monster Set you wouldn't have thought of.

Hopefully, that's a good starting point, and if anyone has some others to add, please feel free!
