Full Version: Small physics issue

Not sure how but suddenly my game has an issue where when an NPC dies, their body is launched off a number of feet making me have to go find them. As if they were hit by Unrelenting Force.

Now it mostly happens when a pet(lately it's a Wealth from Apocalypse) or follower(Inigo) hits it.

I'm on my phone atm so I don't have my load order, but I'm pretty certain I don't have anything that would cause this.

Most of my mods are graphical, body mods(UNP) hair, houses and perks(Vokrii). No physics related mods that I'm aware of.

But if you'd like my load order I can post it.

I can live with the problem, but want to fix it if I can.

No idea, sorry. Where is ghastley?

I had this issue for a long time and couldn't find the reason behind it, only later on when I thoroughly went through my entire list of mods, I saw this "flying NPCs" effect mentioned on its Nexus description page as a possible side effect of one of the mods I've been using. Disabled the mod = solved. This has been 3 or 4 years ago and I forgot which mod it was, but maybe your load order will ring a bell. I do remember that on the first glance the guilty mod wasn't anything ragdoll-related, that's why I didn't relate it to the problem sooner.

My recollection may be faulty, but the death flying issue had something to do with "overkill", meaning that if a mod increased damage too much, the effect could get triggered by a big blow to an almost dead opponent. That happened with the giants hitting the player, but they liked that, and kept it. It wasn't supposed to happen in other circumstances, though.

So any mod that adds "god weapons" can set it off. And presumably other damage-boosting ones.

It's mostly Inigo. His default weapons are Ebony bow/sword.

When *I* kill stuff with weapons it just ragdolls. Spells sometimes launch stuff, as do staves.

Vokrii scales staff damage up with perks, but I have no perks in destruction and destruction spells sometimes do it too.

Not even using a spell added by Apocalypse.

Hm. Overkill. Wonder if there's a mod that helps change that.

I can post a load order if that'd help.

I browsed my entire Skyrim download history on the Nexus and tracked the problem to the mod called Realistic Hit. So I was wrong before when I said that it was a completely different mod affecting the ragdoll effect.

I don't use that one. I also don't use vsync, nor do I frame rate lock. Wonder if I should limit to 60 and see if that fixes it? Because the physics engine does some weird stuff over 60 fps
