IMDB has a vid on who your favorite movie dad is. So why not have our own poll to celebrate Father's Day?
I cast my vote for Darth Vader of course. I mean, what Dad could be cooler? Think of all his words of wisdom:
You have controlled your fear. Now, release your anger.
Only your hatred can destroy me.
What more can a young person ask in the way of guidance?

I voted for Mr Stark. Almost didn't vote as I haven't seen a good many of the options. Thought about submitting a write-in (in addition to my official vote), but then realized I remember very few of the countless movie/TV dads I surely have seen. (I suppose I should add my usual caveat that my choice of Ned is based on the book rather than the TV show, though Ned's line ends early enough in the series to remain quite faithful to Martin.)
Not someone I'd necessarily officially submit, but I have much respect for the father in A Christmas Story. That guy knew how to soldier through adversity and make the best of sometimes awkward situations.

For a moment I thought you meant Iron Man's father. I only had 20 options, so could not include more. There are just too many movie dads.

Voted Vader. Henry Jones Sr. would’ve been Khajiit’s second pick.

Another movie dad I'm quite taken with;
warlord Hidetora Ichimonji from Kurosawa's RAN. Amazing character (one of many) from an amazing film.

Khajiit’s honorable mentions:
Craig’s dad from the Friday movies
King Theodan from Lord of the Rings
Gru from Dispicable Me
Not technically fathers but feel they deserve a mention:
Alfred from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight series and the Gotham tv series: While technically Bruce Wayne’s employee, they always felt like they had a father/son dynamic to Khajiit.
Leon from The Professional: Let’s face it, Leon was more of a father to Matilda than her real father was.
Lestat from Interview with the Vampire: a completely different kind of “father”, but he was basically responsible for “raising” Louie and partly responsible for “raising” Claudia.

Ugh, imagine him in the stands if you were playing a sport. “You have disappointed me with your terrible calls for the last time, referee.” *force chokes ref*

Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air takes the cake for me. RIP, James Avery.
Walt Longmire from Longmire would be my second choice (kind of surprised that the show would be on here). If you haven't watched it, Longmire is a fantastic show. For the past few years or so, I haven't had the desire to invest myself in a TV series and none have truly gripped me, but Longmire managed to change that. I stopped watching it when it went to Netflix, though, because I don't have Netflix. I would really like to watch the rest of the show sometime. I'm a big fan of the Walt Longmire character.

Funny you say that about Longmire. I first saw it at my parents, since they were big fans. I got sucked into it because Katee Sackhoff is in it. When it went to Netflix my parents would come over to my place to watch it.

Can I change my vote to the dad from That 70's Show?

Red Foreman. His actor (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty Foreman (Debra Jo Rupp) are playing a TV couple again on some upcoming show, but I can't remember what the name of it is.
