This is chapter was originaly chapter eight, but its okay since chapter three was originally chapter six. Thats the cool thing of writing a story that takes place in multiple characters' points of views. Some chapters can go in any order as long as it doesnt take place way out of order from the events of the story. Anyways, this chapter contains the most intence fight scene in the story so far.
Chapter 7: The demon called Yuri
(Arion)
My name is Arion. I fought in the Akaviri wars against the Tsaesci in the first era. Since then, I was cursed with vampirism. I became a very powerful mage in the second era, however, Most of my power was sealed away by lesser Daedric lords who feared my power. However, I still plan to get my revenge on the one who cursed me, if he’s still alive. And now that the Akaraishen was found, I plan to help recover it to Akavir. Soon, I will have my chance to get my revenge.
It was evening. The sun was still out, however, if I stay in the shade, I would have nothing to fear. I would only be petrified if the sunlight directly hit my skin. This was an advantage I had over most common vampires who could only go outside when the sun had completely set. I sat under a porch at a tavern in a Nordic town. Only a half an hour and I could walk out into the open.
I heard screams from the other side of town. It sounded like an attack. I normally would just let this battle play its self out. What happens among the mortals has no concern with me. However, the invading army had an intense energy coming from them. When there was that much power, it normally meant that there was a Daedric prince behind it. Back in the Second Era, I made countless enemies among the Daedra. So one of my thoughts was, maybe one of them sensed me here and decided to finish me off. I would rather not risk fighting them while the sun was up, so I went into my room and waited.
The sun set over the snowy peaks just as the raiders approached my area. They were lesser Daedra. Nothing powerful enough to be a fun fight. I was more interested into the source. I walked outside. The sun was no longer visible, but it still gave off light. Guards laid dead on the streets. The Daedra came toward me. Each one cast a spell at me. I let them hit me, just to show them how powerless they were.
The spells hit me leaving no damage. I summoned my Dai-katana and bounded it onto me. I walked closer to the source of town, killing everything in my way. Finally, I came upon the source. I was surprised to see it was a human. Or at least its body was a human. He was surrounded with a dark purple aura. His black adamantium armor went well with his crimson cape. It would definitely strike fear into me if I was a mortal. His piercing eyes showed an amber glow, A common sign of deep corruption.
“This will be a fun battle” I said to myself.
He turned his head, fixing his eyes on me.
“Who are you? And why did you come here?” I asked.
“I come to feed my hunger.” he said
He jumped at me with his Daedric claymore over his head. I held out my sword and blocked his swing. He stared into my eyes. He could tell that I was not a mortal either. I teleported behind him and thrust my sword into his heart. He stood unflinching. Even though he had no more need for mortal organs, striking the heart should have done something. He stabbed his sword through himself, as well as me.
“Hmm. You still stand.” He said.
“This is unexpected. I’ve been alive far longer than you have. But you managed to get so much power in less than one human life. This is very interesting.” I said.
I sent my sword back to its plane. This allowed me to fire a powerful fire blast, sending him into a wall. I regenerated my wounds. When he rose, he didn’t even bother to heal. He just couldn’t feel it. Both of his stab wounds bled, but I could see right through them.
“You shouldn’t have done that.” He said glaring.
The dark energy around him thickened. He held his left hand in front of him. His palm opened, his hand started sparking with a combination of electricity and flames. He jumped at me. His hand landing on my shoulder, searing my flesh. But before his spell could go to deep into my body, I ducked. I counter attacked with an uppercut in the jaw. Then I levitated above him and blasted the area beneath me with frost. The windows of the buildings shattered. I re-summoned my Dai-katana and slashed down, landing behind him. His arm was dismembered. He picked it back up and looked at it. Then he held it up to his arm socket and reattached it. A level of regeneration that I have not obtained yet.
“My, that’s an interesting ability.” I said. But he didn’t listen to me.
“So who are you?” I asked again.
“I am Yuri.” He said, turning to face me.
“And your obviously not a Daedra. What are you?”
He ignored me again, and went for a slash at my head. I ducked again, and launched him into the air onto the rooftops. I jumped to the rooftops myself. He was closer to me than I had anticipated, and he slashed my stomach open. I jumped back. He followed, rapidly slashing at me. I jumped onto the rooftops across the street and waited for him to do the same. But instead, he shot a fireball at me. I put a barrier up to prevent damage. Then I returned fire with an ice blast. I aimed at the ground below him though. As it hit, shards of wood shot out at him, piercing through his thick armor. The wall collapsed beneath him, causing him to fall. He was buried beneath the rubble. I shot another fire ball at the spot where I had estimated him to be at. But Yuri’s voice behind me asked:
“Do you seriously think you could win?” Yuri asked.
“In a battle like this, there are no winners. I could destroy your physical body all I want. But somehow you remain.” I said.
“You cant defeat me. If you could, I would have let you. I just want my hunger to end. Only one person alive can kill me.” Yuri said
“You never answered my question.” I said.
“And what would that be?”
“What are you?”
I turned to him.
“I don’t know. Not anymore.” He said.
And Yuri disappeared into the abyss of his own aura. It should be interesting to see where this one’s destiny takes him.
