I named my first character gurgle.
He was green, and had a very stretched out face(at least for the dungeon tutorial. I used the default imperial model when I got the chance to edit his appearance)
Then there's my first elder scrolls expierience.....that didn't turn out well.
I'm not sure what I named him what I did. Maybe because he looked so weird.

My first was Claire. She was named after a character from the anime Claymore. In fact, it was a Claymore armor and weapon mod that got me interested in Oblivion in the first place.

My first TES character was Acadian. He was a Nordic *glances at avatar* paladin. His quest was to make sure the game of Oblivion was appropriate for small wood elves.

My first Oblivion character was called...Wait for it...What?...No...Not "Wait for it"...His name was, Robert!...
Shocker that, eh?...
I'm afraid in them days I hadn't got the hang of inventive names...
But anyways, soon enough though, he became the legendary (in this house at least) Nordy Boy...As he was...A Nord!!...And a Boy!!...Booyah!!...

Heh, as soon as I saw you were the most recent poster on this thread, I knew your answer!
The earliest rendition I can recall of Buffy was a bow-only amazon in Diablo II. Sort of like the logic in naming Nordy Boy, she was called Bowgirl.

Niamh Esher.
Although in fairness that was her name anyway so it wasn't much of a stretch!

That was back in '93. I honestly don't remember. I seem to remember, however, that it was a spellsword and a dark elf, and male.

Mine was a Nord woman named Rowan, but I’m not sure how I spelled it. The PlayStation died soon after I made her, and so we got a new one. My first character that I really remember was an Imperial woman (Spellsword) named Rowan Varrus.
Edited to Add: Oh, and it was for Oblivion.

My first character was an Orc named Nairon. I distinctly remember him being born in the Atronach Birthsign, and turning into a Vampire. *Le Shrug*
I was a newbie at the time, I guess.
Which gives me an idea.
What were you guys' newbie antics when you first got a TES game?

I have always loved that name. I love those tree/plant names, like Holly, Rose, Willow, etc... I have wanted to use Rowan for characters more than once, but I keep thinking of your Rowan (and Rowan Atkinson), and it does not feel right.

The first time I heard the name Rowan was in

As noted elsewhere, almost all of my CRPG characters are named "Trey". The history of that is that I pictured my little tri-color dachshund playing the games while I was at work.
So- the first TES Trey mostly got killed by the imp in Daggerfall's starter dungeon- Privateer's Hold.
I finally figured out that the best "Gift from the Emperor" to take was the ebony dagger- that meant later Treys survived a bit longer.
You know- I still have Daggerfall on that DOS partition I created on my second hard drive... Hmmmm (poof)

I remember going through that first Ayelid ruin, the name of which I forget at this moment...Bloody early mornings...You know the one, just across the way from the sewer exit...Aaamywho, I remember going through there, part stunned at the beauty of it and partly terrified for some reason...Oh, and then the joys of going back and to into the shopping district and meeting Varnado and...The other one...Dear Gods man, wake up!!...
Aaaamywho, my first memories of playing Oblivion are of going back and to to the Ayelid ruin...

Vilverin, eh? I remember going through there the first time, and seeing the campfire, I thought there were friendlies that could help me in my quest. Turns out I was wrong. Painfully wrong.
One that is sooo etched into my memory is that........
......
.....
I mistook the Roxey Inn for the Fighters Guild. Whaaaat? You may be wondering? Weeeell, long story short, the language barrier had something to do with it. My copy of Oblivion is Japanized, you see, and at the time, I couldn't read some of the kanji. Yaaah.

Bahaha! I had no idea of encumberment, and just grabbed everything I saw. it was my RP ever, and had never played anything knowingly with encumberment. I went outside and picked some lotus seeds in the water, got overencumbered and drowned. My brother, 5 years younger than me, goes "You have too much stuff in your inventory." I was like "In my wha?" I don't recall what I named my first character, but I think Denjha, a khajiit, was one of the first. Saqin was pretty early as well. I didn't actually play Oblivion all that much in the beginning when it came out and dad bought it, because I thought the monsters were so scary, and I don't think I'd played a role-playing game before. I mostly just ran around and admired the scenery

I only started playing TES when Skyrim came out. I'm not very imaginative when it comes to names, so I name all my characters Eva. Although My most recent Oblivion play through is called Breeva... but yeah to answer the question my first characters name was Eva.

Oh, I remembered a rookie thing that confused me...When I "Did" the training with Varnado for the Heavy Armour the first few times, it took me
ages before I realised that all it did was put the number up one.
I had fond imaginings of him actually
showing me something in the training department...Or, at least a fade to black or something...

I actually do remember my very, very, first character ever. A Female Imperial Assassin I named after a co-worker "Noruma" because this chick was as tough as her. In the game of MW, natch.
My first OB character was an Imperial Archer (Agent Class) I named Dayne "Dead-Eye" Denarius.
First Skyrim Char was an Nordic Female Archer named Svenja Snow-Caller.

Neither did I. My first character's name (OB) was
Lady Anne. How unoriginal is
that?
Granted, when I first got the game, was in too much of a hurry to just get
into it. I was excited!
... My first Skyrim character's name was
Blade 'n' Bone. He was the default Nord guy. I thought of BnB during the frantic weeks before 11/11/11, frantic in the forums, that is. I just wanted a throwaway name, something I wouldn't get attached to, 'cause I knew BnB would just get tanked by some enemy pretty quickly.

So when I was working on my fan-fics, I accidentally made some errors with the original Trey... as in, he joined the Fighters' Guild and some other things I cannot recall.
Anyway, when it came time to actually play through and write what happened- because I was in "verite" mode... I created an exact statisical duplicate of him and named him "Klone".
As to noob events- (and this is chronicled in the original story)- I once had him carrying so much stuff (alchemy gear, potions, books, loot)- that he became too encumbered to move. From thence came my habit of using Almsivi Intervention to get out of caves. He could drop his excess "stuff" at the temple and pick it up later to sell (or stash in the Mages' Guild in Balmora).

My first TES character was a Breton named Amadeus Anchev and he was also my only CoC.
I named him Amadeus because on that very day I was eating in a pizza restaurant called Amadeus and it was one of first the things that got to my mind at character creation screen. And I found the name cool.
Anchev is a homage to Sarevok Anchev, a legendary villain from Baldur's gate.

Thank you for kind welcome, I'm still getting used to the forums.
Unfortunately, Amadeus Anchev got lost when I bought a new PC in 2007 and at that time I wasn't as addicted to TES as I'm today and I deleted all of his saves. He lives on in my memory but honestly, my later playthroughs were more memorable.

Possibly it has to do with what mods are in charge of the subsections that you frequently post in. I was dinged twice by one of the mods and then I went off on a tangent and got banned.
Oh well, I've been here like seven years and haven't been banned because the mods aren't overzealous no lifers.
