Okay, so my Bosmer thief is now officially over and done with, so I need a new character, and I need your help figuring out the details. biggrin.gif

What I know so far: he will be of the Heavy Armor Warrior archetype (Guardian Stone will be Warrior). Here's what I need to figure out, though:

Which race? Imperial, Nord, or Altmer?

Which class? Knight, Paladin, or Cleric? Guardian-blessed specializations can go to 100, non-specialized Guardian-blessed skills or specialized unblessed skills can go to 75, non-specialized unblessed skills can go only to 50.

Knight: specialize in Two-handed blades, Heavy Armor, Alteration, Restoration, Smithing (Heavy), and Conjuration.

Paladin: specialize in One-handed blades, Blocking, Heavy Armor, Restoration, Enchanting, and Speech.

Cleric: specialize in One-handed axes and maces, Heavy Armor, Restoration, Enchanting, Conjuration, and Alteration.

Guilds are pre-destined to be the Companions for the Knight and Paladin, and the College of Winterhold for the Cleric.

Alignment: Imperial or Stormcloak? You decide.

Starting attributes: I will be using the console to buff/nerf starting attributes according to character.

Knight: Magicka 70, Health 120, Stamina 140, Carry Weight 450
Paladin: Magicka 80, Health 110, Stamina 140, Carry Weight 450
Cleric: Magicka 120, Health 70, Stamina 130, Carry Weight 400

I vote for no particular reason:
Imperial Cleric. And for lolz, make him side with the Cloaks.

Speaking of which, did you know I already came up with a bit of backstory for such a character?

He is a former patron of Talos in Cyrodiil, before the Thalmor banned his worship. He was outspoken against the ban, which resulted in the Thalmor hauling his family away. He now harbors a bitter resentment for the Thalmor for destroying his life, and cannot bear to live in the province, and under the government, that sold his religion away. So he fled to Skyrim, the one province still sympathetic to worshippers of Talos... and promptly got caught jumping the border.

I say Imperial Knight. There are already too many male Nords in the game - plus 2 handed fighting is an art form. He was siding with the Legion till the banning of Talos, but now he is rethinking his position - no one really knows what side he is on till he makes his sudden revealing move to one side or the other in a dramatic takeover. He is an enigma.

I agree that there are too many Nords as is. And if by 'art form' you refer to the ability to keep from bashing your follower into jelly then I agree with that too! tongue.gif

TK, if you just finished a Bosmer then trotting out an Altmer might be too heavy on the elves if you ask me. Maybe you want to play another Elven character. If so, then by all means go for it with your Cleric. Thinking about it though, an Altmer Knight/Paladin could be interesting.

On the subject, if you want to go straight warrior have you considered Orc? Berserk is just that good! In fact, IMHO it is hands down the best racial ability in the game. Potions can restore your health, stamina, and magicka more often and efficiently than Histskin, Adrenaline Rush, or Highborn. Enchantments can mirror the effects of the Breton, Nord and Dunmer’s resistances (albeit not quite as efficiently). But where else can you get double damage dished out, half damage taken at the same time? Give him mALX's two handed weapon (or, better yet, two swords/war axes/maces) and get out of his way! cool.gif

I certainly considered it, but I didn't want to go with an Orc because they are berserkers through and through. They are of the "armor is for sissies" bunch in my eyes. Heavy armor doesn't really suit them for me, I see them just charging barechested, and despite how much this might please our residents here, I'm not really of the mind to make a barbarian/berserker character right now. Not to mention I'm trying not to unbalance the game too much. tongue.gif

Anyways, I've settled on the Imperial Knight, because I have never tried a two-handed specialization in an Elder Scrolls game before. Sword-minus-board should be fun. biggrin.gif

Oh, and since I like that backstory, he's going to be on the side of the Stormcloaks. wink.gif

Starting attributes are as I said they would be, 70 Magicka, 120 Health, 140 Stamina, and 450 Carry Weight. Health regen has also been killed completely, and I've given my character a slight speed boost because I feel the default speed is a bit too slow.

Too many Nords?! Never! tongue.gif

TK, I hope you will share some of your Imperial Stormcloak knight’s adventures. (I wish they would have gone back to using Cyrodiils for the race and kept Imperial for allegiance.)

Two-handed has made me learn how to stay in third person for the fights. It’s brought a whole new level of fun to the game. smile.gif

This'll be fun! I expect screens.
