I have some screenshots. smile.gif I’m afraid I’ll get too unruly for the characters thread, so here we are.

This is my first attempt at everyone. Tips, hints and comments are very welcome! I don’t have any mods yet.

The original Jerric on the PS3. I know, it’s a photo of my TV.

Jerric casting frost in a cave.

Darnand in the Anvil guild hall.

Abiene and Carahil. I think I need to make Abiene’s face thinner, with a longer nose.

Abiene and Anvil mages.

Lildereth cuts a deal with Morvayn.
King Coin
You did an excellent job recreating Jerric on the PC. I've always been terrible with the Oblivion (and Fallout) character creation. You did awesome on Jerric.

Now which cave was Jerric in for the frost attack?

It's great seeing screens of all the other characters in Jerric's story. As much as I like Anvil, Aravi doesn't spend much time there at all so it's great to have a face to go with each one.
Grits
That’s in Mongrel’s Tooth Cave against the imp infestation when he went to back up Aravi and Vilja. (Late! laugh.gif) I took a lot of practice shots before I got the ones I put in your video thread. Most of them were too dark, too bloody, or too many imps landing on his head. It got a little hectic fighting with the menu turned off.

I had to make Abiene, Lildereth, and Darnand as characters since I don’t know how to add NPCs yet. It would be great if there was a way to put them all in Jerric’s game.
SubRosa
Jerric is a pretty boy! I can never make male characters look that handsome. I just have no experience at looking at men I suppose... wink.gif I have to admit though, I was expecting something a bit more macho, like this or this or this. Maybe if you tried one of the beard mods?

The others look about as much as I expected. Except Lildreth, who looks like she has grey hair? I thought she was younger. It could just be the lighting that shot. The game does a poor job of showing black hair, which is why I rarely have black haired characters, and when I do I make their hair a custom color, that is darker than what the game calls black.

Something you can do for action screenshots is to turn off the ai of the monsters. Open the console, click on them with your mouse, and type in tai. Or just type it in without selecting anything, and it will globally shut off all the npcs and monsters.

Also don't forget to use god mode: tgm
Plus the free camera: tfc
And if you just want a monster to go away: disable. That one removes it from the game world. Handy for getting rid of bodies that are not supposed to be in the shot.

I had a feeling about that shot in the cave!

I didn't think Lildereth looked like an NPC. I honestly thought that Abiene and Darnand were Mages Guild members in Anvil however embarrased.gif laugh.gif
SubRosa
Forgot to mention. Something you can try doing is using a companion mod like CM Partners to create Abiene, Darnand, and the others. That would allow you to put everyone together at once.
Grits
As a dedicated researcher I make sure I look at men as much as possible. tongue.gif In fact I think I need to look at that Sean Bean picture some more. I tried to make Jerric look rougher with the age slider, but he just looked lumpy. He definitely needs a beard mod, messier hair, and some scars. And for me to get busy writing the next chapter. Lildereth is supposed to have jet black hair, and I don’t like the grey that shows up on the vanilla black color. I haven’t messed with it yet, a custom color is a great idea. Also her face looks kind of mean and pointy, but she’s pretty close to how I imagine her. Maybe someone already made an Audrey Tautou mod I could use for her. Thank you so much for those commands – that will save the poor guy a lot of pain. It will be great to get the monsters to stand still so I can get the shot. My computer runs Oblivion quite badly, and I get pretty nauseated after a little while.

KC, that’s funny! I think of those two as regular Anvil members, and I’m sure they do too. smile.gif

Thank you both! This is fun.

ETA: I’m wondering if there is a way to copy them out of their games and plug them into Jerric’s. I’ll look at CM Partners and see what I can start figuring out. I’m starting with zero knowledge, so I have a lot more reading to do before I can even ask a decent question. Thank you so much for the tips!! smile.gif
SubRosa
I have considered using CM Partners myself, but like you, I am not sure about copying and pasting the face data. Oblivion Face Exchange Lite can import the face data from an npc and give it to a player character, not to mention transfer faces between save files, but it does not appear to be able to give an npc your character's face. An important note though, it does not work on Windows Vista or 7.
Acadian
Great job, Grits! Thanks for giving us a nice idea of what your characters all look like! They each look just as I imagined! I will admit that accident prone, lead-with-his nose-Jerric could use a few more lumps and bumps. biggrin.gif
Grits
I had some time to grind my teeth and curse under my breath today, so I spent some of it giving Lildereth and Abiene a few adjustments.

So here's Abiene, with a slightly leaner look. I thought my first attempt looked a little robust.

And now Lildereth is a little less pouty, with different hair.

Acadian
They both look great! goodjob.gif

I think Lildereth really has that jet black hair look that I think you wanted.
King Coin
Echoing Acadian: Both look great! I'll have to ask you to make my character if I ever decide to take a break from Aravi tongue.gif

Lildereth looks fierce. I haven't seen her yet in the story but I bet she kicks all kinds of @$$
Grits
Thanks, folks! Black hair is difficult. I went a little too Sharpie Marker, but she likes it better than the grey. tongue.gif KC, by now you know that you were right about Lildereth!

Here’s Darnand working at the Chorrol guild hall.

And here’s Jerric leaving the falls below Shadow’s Rest Cavern. This one is from the Ninedava adventure in King Coin’s video thread. The light makes him look kind of pretty, so please use your imagination mod to give him a beard and hit him a few times in the face with, say, a brick.
Uleni Athram

Hey! Nice pics! Its always good to see characters in the 'flesh' from time to time, yes? Jerric looks like the Warrior he is and Darnand? No matter what description you give me, I always picture him with blonde hair and androgynous features. Dunno why. Maybe because I always have my Breton characters be blonde. King Coin took the words out of my mouth when describing Lildereth. She reminds me of Charlie's Angels with her "Don't Screw With Me" look. Abiene looks great!

Can I make a suggestion, Grits? Since you have the PC, you can actually use the Console Commands to somewhat do this. I'm no PC user myself, but I've seen some techniques used by OB-Machinima makers that is REALLY ingenious.

They 'copy' faces from their desired characters, and 'paste' it on their current character. Then, they CLONE THEMSELVES USING THE CONSOLE COMMAND and THEN return to their previous character. See what I'm getting at?

I doubt my grasp of the English Language comes across, so I'm going to make it simple. For me (and hopefully for you, too!)

1. You have Jerric.
2. You then turn his face into Darnand.
3. You then clone yourself using the Console Command.
4. You now have TWO Darnands. One is a clone and the other is you, the Player Character.
5. You then change your Player Character's face into Jerric's.
6. Congratulations! You now have the Two Characters!

Uuurgh! That still doesn't sound right! Just look at this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_98BxHe9wg...feature=related

The ACTUAL advice that I gave you here starts at 1:34 of the video.

I hope this helps you and that we might see the Rest of the Gang in one place! Now, I'm off so I can brew confusion and insanity someplace else!
mALX
GAAAAH !!! I didn't know about this thread !!! Grits, I don't get on here anymore unless I get an email, so new threads are never seen unless the AUTHOR PM's ME !!! (hint hint). Now that I have seen this thread, I will get updates (hopefully) - but if you ever start another thread, please let me know so I can come check it out !!!! ARGH !!! I love these screens, Grits !!!

@ my good friend (and the X "Ureniashtram") now Uleni Athram - that vid is Awesome! Thank you for bringing those tips to our attention, those are some great tips !!!
King Coin
Grits: Great screens! I lol'd when you said hit Jerric in the face with a brick.

Uleni Athram: That's an interesting way of doing it, I never considered it. I think making a plugin with the CS would be easier though.
Acadian
Those are great screens of Darnand and Jerric!

You certainly have quite the cast of fully developed characters now from Jerric, to Darnand, Abiene and Lildereth. Each is wonderful in their own way and I love how you have them all interacting in your story. smile.gif
Grits
Uleni Athram, thank you so much! Your directions made sense, and the video confirmed it. I never thought of doing it that way. Here is a quick and dirty Jerric and not-quite-Darnand. I didn’t have time to change the face in the racemenu, so Darnand is a Breton version of Jerric. This will be handy for shots where faces aren’t too close once I make a save with everyone’ gear in Jerric’s inventory. (Darnand had to wear Jerric’s nasty gray robe in this shot. tongue.gif) I think you should keep imagining Darnand as your mind sees him. My only worry with screenshots was that game images would interfere with how people imagine things in the story. Thank you, thank you!

mALX, I will PM you if I ever start another thread! Thank you, I have been having some fun. I played with the settings a little, and that helped make the game fun on my laptop. The fights in Ninedava were even OK, maybe because it is pretty bright in there.

KC, making plugins in the CS is my goal. I found a Simple Companion Tutorial, but I’m going to start with the My First Dungeon and Basic NPC Creation ones so I get a little understanding first. I think if I make some screenshots with everyone’s facial settings in the race menu, it might help when I start moving the sliders. ohmy.gif

Thank you, Acadian! smile.gif

Jerric passed through Bruma recently. Here he is at Olav's with some of his new friends.

Jerric, you’re supposed to look at her face when she’s talking.

Someone stole a blackberry and a loaf of bread? We don’t know anything about that, officer.

mALX
ROFL !! The innocent look on Jerric's face when the guard is questioning everyone !! SPEW !!! You have a knack for capturing great facial expressions!

Grits, you have to know if you are producing, I will be there soaking it up. If I am not, then I don't know about it. PLEASE feel free to PM me and let me know when you have anything up. KC, Acadian, and Zalphon have all gotten into the habit of letting me know anytime they post lately because this year has been such a hellish one for me timewise that I've quit browsing the forum like I used to.

By the way, KC and I are going through that modding school that TK told us about. I have learned tons about modding in there in just a few short lessons (and it is free!). You can choose to take the course and get one on one instruction (and a badge on completion) or you can just do the lessons without turning in your work and still learn from the lessons.

Here is a link in case you are interested:

Meh, I'm not the one you should thank. Raditz the Radish should be the one, after all, he was the one who made that video. Anyway, it's good to see those two together in one pic!

I laughed when you said that 'this' Darnand was the Breton-version of Jerric. hehehe. Well, I'm glad that my advice came across. Since the Majesty of Money says that this 'CS Plug-In' is much better, I'm inclined to agree. I'm just a console-player after all.

I lol'd at Jerric looking .. down rather than properly looking the woman in the face. I totally expected that from him! I wonder how the Nord woman feels when Jerric introduces himself to her breasts? Lolololol.

Somebody stole a blackberry and a loaf of bread? Who could do such a thing? Right, Jerric? lol
King Coin
laugh.gif

The screen of Jerric blatantly looking at her breasts is hilarious! Did he get smacked?

Jerric looks so serious in the guard screen. "Are you accusing me of something?"

I couldn't see very well, but it looked like Jerric's hands were wrapped in bandages.
Acadian
Grits, those were fabulous screens! biggrin.gif

1. Hey! My eyes are up here!!!

2. Huh? Musta been some other Nords.
Grits
mALX, thanks for that link! I am very interested in doing this. Argh, when time permits… The whole incident with Ongar stealing food and then sitting down next to Jerric happened while I was moving the camera, it was hysterical. That was a fun night at Olav’s.

Uleni, she looked pretty ticked off. I was laughing.

KC, those gauntlets are the Fists of the Drunkard, you can buy them from Maenlorn at the Flowing Bowl. They are a must-have for Jerric. biggrin.gif

LOL, Thank you, Acadian! smile.gif

Vigge gets an earful from Lildereth. Maybe that’s why he moved to Kvatch.

Jerric making friends in Bruma. You'll turn my bones to ash? Let's see it.

Here’s Abiene in Chorrol.

And here’s a screenshot I made for the story, but then I realized that it doesn’t look very wintry. Darnand and Banner arrive at Shetcombe Farm.
mALX
These screens are great, both Jerric and Lildereth really look like they are giving someone what-for, lol. Abiene looks lonely, sad, miserable, and cold in Chorrol (just like she described in the last chapter !!!) You should have posted that screen at the bottom of her "Letters" page, how apropos !! Er...is Darnand using a stolen Legion bay horse? GAAAAH !!! Lol. You did a wonderful job on the Facegen for all your characters !!
King Coin
That look! I’m surprised Vigge hasn’t wet himself! laugh.gif

That Dunmer has made quite a few enemies now. Aravi wants to stab him, and Jerric’s going to pummel him with his bare fists!

I have to say, Abiene doesn’t look like she’s enjoying Chorrol much.

Nice screen of Darnand and Banner, but it doesn’t look wintery at all. You could try again, but opening the console first and typing “fw 38EED” (without quotes). That’ll make it snow.
Acadian
That look on Lildereth’s face is priceless! I think every woman who visits the Skingrad guild has felt the same. I think it’s so much better to give him the Lildereth treatment than to find oneself doing the walk of shame down to sweet rolls at breakfast.

We’ve come to the conclusion that Alval’s ‘bones to ashes’ line is a bunch of imp chips and that he’s all talk. Anymore, he just gets a strong demoralize spell and the sound of Buffy giggling as he runs away. From that look on Jerric’s face though, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Nord turned Alval into a bloody popsicle!

Abiene looks fabulous and just the way I imagine her (when she’s not doing yoga). How neat that you caught that pair of Chorrol dogs in the shot!

What a neat shot of Darnand and Banner! I love how you captured parts of Kvatch in the background.
Grits
I took two pictures of Jerric in Hrotanda Vale before I realized that he was wearing the wrong armor the whole time. Oops. Here he is in his mercenary gear instead of the quieter leather, and here he’s wearing a hood instead of the enchanted Blades helm. Double oops.

I have changed the provenance of that Blackwood Company armor. It’s really the stuff Rasheda made for him. Really. Let’s just call it a “mod.” whistling.gif
SubRosa
His Blackwood cuirass and Blades shield go well together. And he's in a hoodie too. I guess he just cannot help but to be fashionable! biggrin.gif

ROFL !! Works for me! I love the above shot of Jerric, he looks awesome and handsome for a vanilla Nord! You did such a great job on his facegen!
King Coin
I do like that Blackwood armor, never had a character that actually got to wear it though. goodjob.gif
Acadian
Jerric looks fabulous in that 'Blackwood Company' armor! Screw what the game has for that armor's background, go for looks! For example, Buffy loves wearing 'Golden Saint' armor (modified to light armor) - we simply pretend it has nothing to do with that terrible dweeb Sheogorath. laugh.gif
Grits
I can’t remember if I posted these anywhere. They’re from Jerric and Darnand’s Skyrim adventures over Thanksgiving break and perhaps a bit earlier. These are Skyrim, so they’re pictures of my TV.

Jerric went on a pilgrimage to High Hrothgar, though he did not bother the Greybeards. Ulfe decided to head back to Cyrodiil somewhere along the way, possibly due to Darnand’s enthusiastic use of his new Chain Lightning spell. Great if your battlemage friend is blessed by the Atronach, but no fun for your dog. Here Jerric is reading a plaque.

Jerric took a long time at the Talos statue. Darnand was very patient. You can see that here Darnand is uncharacteristically attired in plate armor. This is because: 1. He was cold, 2. Frost Trolls, and 3. I forgot what he was hauling around for Jerric.

Here is an old shot from one night at the Bee and Barb. Darnand is without headwear and so looks very much like an Imperial. tongue.gif Jerric is feeling blue here. The hot Dibellan at the other pub kicked him out without so much as a peek or a squeeze, and the Black Briar mead is not as good as everyone makes it out to be.

Jerric is an amenable tourist. On the way up to Solitude a guard told him to be sure he stopped and checked out the view. So he did.

Traveling off-road in Skyrim is nothing like in Cyrodiil. Jerric has a flawless sense of direction, but he is not familiar with mountainous terrain. Darnand loves his maps and sometimes fails to look up and see that there is no way they can actually get up/down there. (They don’t have horses.) Since neither of them is inclined to ask directions, they sometimes go astray. Like here Jerric insisted that they follow the river. Now they can see their destination at the base of a very long waterfall. Here Darnand is grinding his teeth loudly enough to be heard over the river, and Jerric is ignoring him. At least it's not raining.

Here the fellows discover another waterfall, this one far more agreeable. Jerric lives in the hope of finding a friendly, skinny-dipping Khajiit or Bosmer, suitably protected by frost charms of course. No joy at this pool. I’m sure he’ll keep looking.

The Bannered Mare in Whiterun has become another home between adventures. Uthgerd’s house is comfortable, but both of them like a break from Jerric’s cooking while they’re in town. Here’s a quiet afternoon at the Bannered Mare.

Later it got more lively. (And Darnand noticed that they were wearing practically the same outfit, so he made Jerric change.) Many of us have heard Carlotta complain about getting too much attention from men. Here she is talking to Jerric. Now when she stands right there, where else is he supposed to look?

.
King Coin
These are great Grits! Love the little stories behind the pictures. If Jerric is looking for a certain Khajiit in the water, he needs to venture a little farther from the road. tongue.gif

Love the shot of Jerric at the Bannered Mare. laugh.gif
SubRosa
So nice to see Jerric and Darnit Darnand again. You should get Skyrim on the PC, that way you can make a full Darny companion for J.

So strange to see Jerric with a beard after all those Oblivion pics! He looks like an older and wiser Nord now. But I see his waterfall pool searching shows that he is still the same fun-loving fellow at heart. Perhaps he should look in Eastmarch, I hear the hot springs are very inviting... wink.gif

Ha! Carlotta has all her wares out on display? Maybe Jerric would like a couple of gourds? Or perhaps some honeydews? biggrin.gif

Acadian
What a delightfully entertaining look into life in Skyrim for Jerric and Darnand! I love Jerric’s more rugged look, but the same old Jerric personality shines through – waterfalls, cleavage, food and drink! I chuckled at your description of their navigational challenges in the mountains. tongue.gif
mALX
GAAAH! Jerric grew a beard! Great screens, especially for being off a TV !!!
Grits
I took another picture of my TV. Here’s Jerric on the Xbox.

Cyrodiil feels a little lonely compared to the camaraderie (and mayhem) of followers in Skyrim, so he’s still running around with Erthor. Spell Tomes are his newest discovery. He finally went into a fort looking for Nerussa’s wine and found two tomes. Now he wants to know if there’s one hidden in every fort. hehe.gif

You did an amazing job of his Facegen for an XBox 360! Awesome shot!
SubRosa
He is looking all studly. Like Vladimir Kulich back in the days of The 13th Warrior.
Acadian
Yay! Jerric is looking great! Is that a little dark-haired wood elven lass with a bow in the ruins behind him? Ha! Made ya look! biggrin.gif
Grits
Darnand has made his way to the Wobbly Goblet in his game. smile.gif He’s the first one of mine to bring along his horse. More company for Sapphire!

Here’s their arrival: Darnand and Banner in the corral. Another lovely evening sky.

Once inside the inn Darnand went straight up to check out the most important things.

Then he found some space in the upstairs suite and got straight to work. Darnand has no respect for beautiful decorating. He moved the lovely silver pieces from the side table and set up his grubby alchemy gear.

I thought that he and Jerric would each sleep in the upstairs big bed in their individual games, but no. Darnand has taken over the player bedroom that holds the suite’s door. As far away as possible from where the Nord sleeps. I guess he got his fill of being roommates in Skyrim!
Acadian
Great shots of Darnand!

It's so neat how each character goes straight to what's important to them at the Goblet. Lil (and Buffy) pause on a bench under the trees to rest a bit from traveling, then head inside for the fireplace to warm their small limbs and thin Bosmeri blood. Darnand goes straight upstairs to scope out the bookshelves, then breaks out the alchemy gear. And Jerric, of course, makes a beeline for the Nord triplets and ale kegs! tongue.gif

ghastley
Clark confesses to greeting the triplets, too. His excuse is that mALX had told him about the laryngitis that was preventing them from being heard.

Unlike Jerric, he's a wine man, and was concerned that they were hiding away the Tamika's and putting out more of the Surilie Brothers product. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but he does have his preferences, completely uninfluenced by Tamika being a woman.

SubRosa
Darnit is certainly moving in! Books, and alchemy equipment. He's really making himself at home, that is for sure!
mALX

WOO HOO, Darnand! These are great shots, and I love that his alchemy equipment is up already! The Inn has thousands of books for him to read, I was seriously thinking about weeding some of them out to lower the mod's load, lol.

Which version of the mod are you using? I need to get in there and level up that stables if it is 1.3 - it is kind of tilted down, Buffy had trouble riding out of it in version 1.2

I'll check it out before releasing version 1.4 = I have added the sound of the Priory bells in the distance, 3 butterflies (around the benches and in the garden); and a few ambient sounds I found on the internet. I added a sheep ken in the corral plus two sheep (Daisy and Petunia, who will also follow someone with an apple in their inventory).
Grits
You’re so right, Acadian! Each time one of them got there it was a new experience for me.

Many thanks to Clark for helping the ladies with their laryngitis. We might accuse him of giving them some of Pelena’s moaner potion if they still couldn’t speak. tongue.gif

Rosa, if he could only remember where he left the rest of his stuff we’d be in great shape. wacko.gif My characters who live on the laptop don’t get out much!

mALX, it’s the first version with ghastley’s sign over the door, so I think it’s 1.2. There’s no sign by the road in this version. Your new additions sound great! Butterflies and sheep, yay! I just love the idea of hearing the chapel bells. Thank you so much! happy.gif

Yesterday my birds tweaked just perfectly - but then kept going and going, even though they aren't set to loop; and nothing else played. I think that is an issue with my script's timer setting, so I spent yesterday reading up on how to set them for sounds and then DL'd a bunch of mods with sound files and timers to see how they did it. Still working on the belltower ringing, but will update the mod instantly when I get it working.

You asked a question on a different thread, I'll find it - I would not load your stuff in before changing ESP's just for safety's sake. It shouldn't effect it, but I wouldn't take the chance on that if I were you. I will hurry, just give me another day and I should have the belltower issue worked out. I'll disconnect the sounds to the sheep ken and horse stable and just get the belltower going and upload it quickly for you. I'm sorry is taking so long.

Grits
Oh, don't hurry! My crew just has what they were carrying in their inventory, they don't need to move in right away. I was just checking so I didn't make a mistake. I'm actually not even sure where Darnand left the rest of his stuff. Probably in Anvil.

You are doing a huge amount of work on this mod, and I am so appreciative! I sure don't want to sound impatient. embarrased.gif

Darkness Eternal
Jerric screenies! Hooray!! Felt bad I didn't get here sooner. Always good seeing Jerric, Darnard, Abiene and their many faces.

Jerric casting frost in a cave- A man ready for Sovngarde! Love the glow from the frost spell here! And the sword, too.

Darnand in the Anvil guild hall-Looking good Darnard! Looking good!

Abiene and Carahil. I think I need to make Abiene’s face thinner, with a longer nose- She looks fine here!

Abiene and Anvil mages- So . . .this is Abiene, huh? She's cute, despite her descriptions saying she isn't much to look at.

Lildereth cuts a deal with Morvayn-What deal is this, I wonder?

I love this one.

So simple, yet she still pretty. Most women we encounter in Cyrodiil are well, less-than-stellar. smile.gif

You'll turn my bones to ash? Let's see it.

Here’s Abiene in Chorrol.

Has Jerric been making friends again? laugh.gif

Heh. What a Nord! I noticed in Skyrim most of the friends we make are after we beat the pulp out of them in a tavern brawl.
