In the recent days, my interest was piqued by the Hist Children. So for my first playthrough I'd play an Argonian. Probably a heavy-armored, flail-swinging (I hope they add flails!), Dragon Shouting Argonian.
Speaking of Argonians, I hope they add Sub-Types for the Races. For example, I hope the Nagas of innermost Blackmarsh make their debut on TES:S! Heck, I'll even cross my fingers for the Cathay-Raht!
What about you guys?

Nord, deffinatly. A young nord girl, with either blood-red hair and blue eyes or a black haired girl with blue eyes. And maybe I'll be able to make her ears dark-elf style.
I like Nords

Most likely a Dunmer. I've always wanted to play as one, but I'm too attached to my Bosmer in Cyrodiil now to turn back.

That would be good, but I'll bet they don't, though someone will mod them in.
As for what to play, probably a Nord first time given that's what seems likely o fit best with the story. Basic warrior type probably.
Then it's between dunmer and argonians, both are fun and quite versitile.

Argonian, I think. Or Nord.
Are there other different races in Skyrim than in Oblivion?

Almost certainly not, there's been the same races since Arena (the first TES game), though orc's weren't initially playable. If there were it would be quite a shock and almost certainly would have been announced by now.
If you include non-playable races dragons might count though

I do not think so. BethSoft said there was 10 races. Coincidentally vanilla Oblivion has 10 races.
I'll play a Khajiit female, and an Altmer male. The order will depend on how I feel like playing, though I bet I'll play the khajiit first so I can get familiar with magic before going 'all in' in it.

Nord. I like to go back to my roots and get my viking on in Tamriel.

I'll be a Breton if the magic system is similar enough to Oblivion (still miffed about Mysticism). That, and the fact that my dad's side is predominantly Gaelic and my mom's side is predominantly Norse/Hun, makes me just barely qualify as "Breton."
Though, like the last Dragon-Born to climb the 7,000 Steps of High Hrothgar, he'll be a Half-Breton, Half-Nord destined to unite the Sons of Skyrim and use that strength to forge anew the Empire of Tamriel.
For appearances, though,
imagine this, albeit with darker hair (likely a reflection of my own coppery brown). And riding a dragon.
Not too unlike
this, actually. But, you know, with a dragon and cool fantasy armor.

Assuming that all of the previously used races in the series will be available, I am certain to start with a Dunmer. It has been my race of choice in both Morrowind and Oblivion. But since it
is Skyrim, a Nord my well be in the cards as well.

An scout/assassin who's a khajiit and whos name is Sa'Quira probably.

After that it'll either be a dunmer or a woodelf. But knowing my mind, it wont take long until I've tried all of the races.

If they have Khajiit (which I did not see in any of the artwork/screenies/etc. in either the magazine or the internet) - I always play a cat first and foremost - then experiment with the other races. My second choice is usually Redguard.

I'll probably be a wood elf archer.
bows are going be rare in skyrim though,so he's probably going to start with a short blade.
after that though i'd probably be an axe wielding nord!

Nord Female Archer. Cuz blonde swedes are hawt, and I'm stealth class till I die in the RW!! And cuz I always start with the native race in the game. Usually...then I just go Dunmer. I like them...what can I say?

If I play it at all, which isn't looking likely at the moment, I'll probably be an Imperial. They've always been my favourite playable race because of the Personality and Speechcraft bonuses (though I just hope they make Speechcraft more useful this time round). Second choice would be a Nord.

I've always been a Dunmer and always will. I might have to make a new character and back story though, I feel as though I'd be stretching it if my Morrowind character went from be Nerevarine to the savior of Cyrodiil to now the dragon born.

1) A sword-swinging, spear-wielding male Redguard warrior freezing his Yokuda off in Skyrim.
2) A silk swaddled female Altmer mage, doing the same.
3) One of the slave beast races (never been a Khajiit before), stealthy to the core, and completely willing to let the slaying of dragons be someone else's job.

I'll do multiple characters with different races but my main character will be a male Imperial, simply because you can never go wrong with an Imperial.

As with the other Elder Scrolls Titles, I shall stick to my roots and play an Argonian. I have yet to decide on a name, but have decided to break away from Silver-Tongue, or Seel-Ta. My second playthrough will be a Khajiit, though I have not put much thought into what he will be like or given him a name.

Female Bosmer, and then female Khajiit or Dunmer. Eventually, I'll be all of them (except orcs, as I wasn't happy with it the one time I decided to try being an orc. Didn't even last an entire day....)

I always go Khajiit first, then Redguard, then Dunmer, lol. I did play a Redguard man once, but usually my characters are female too.

Eh, I'll probably end up playing as a Breton, a second time around as a proud Son of Skyrim, and possibly also a Redguard and/or Imperial if I go really different.
What can I say? I prefer the races of Men. They generally get stuff done. Though whether I'll include a speciest streak remains to be seen. It takes a lot for me to play an elf.

I second that...I'll likely send my ever faithful Telina up against the winged lizards in Skyrim...however seeing as I AM from Norway home of the Vikings (along with Sweden) I will have to succumb to my desire to play as a Nord...jsut this once
