When you get Oblivion (and presuming it works) what is the first thing that you are going to do? apart from stare at the awsome graphics.

Here's mine.

1)Find this house ( it SHALL be mine...)
2)Hunt deer
3)Gaze in wonder at npc's as they go about their lives.
4)Start fights in the street. biggrin.gif
Dantrag
1) look for easter eggs
2) see if I can use a table knife as a weapon (it made me mad that you couldn't in Morrowind)
3) join the Dark brotherhood.... :evil7:
4) beat the game
Ambberfox
1) get some sword and try the new fight system
2) test the Havoc-Engine (like smashing bottles and picking up chains)
3) find the nearest wood and start drawing it, as if I was doing a picture of a real landscape
4) get to the local pub and see what new stuff they've added since Morrowind

it's just gonna be sooooooo awesome! :lickinglips:
Konji
1)Spend hours fiddling around with character creation
2)Get invitation from thieves guild
3)get bow and arrow and hunt deer, rabbits and sheep.
4) Become amazingwonderfulgladiatordude46 at arena guild
MerGirl

2) Talk to many NPC's to check out Radient AI
3) Check out the Nine Divines

5) Explore caves, etc. and find/talk to vampires

Lilim (female Dunmer):
1) Play around with character creation
2) Locate nearest Thieves Guild hangout or just steal like crazy
or
3) Join Dark Brotherhood
4) Become a kind and ditzy assassin, who usually doesn't like following the rules
5) Look for Argonians and Khajiit and become best friends with them
6) Look for a nice house. (Kill the owner of it, first, of course!)
7) Get rich! and go shopping!
8) Become a werewolf (if there are going to be werewolves in Oblivion)
9) Check out all of the handsome Dunmer and kill off any competition AKA other pretty female Dunmer

Might not happen, but still hoping --> Emma (female Breton):
1) Play around with character creation and try to make character as young as possible
2) Join Arena?
3) Learn Necromancy and gather as many corpses as possible (if possible)
4) Hunt all vampires
5) Explore everywhere
6) Get rich and go shopping!
7) Fight zombies and cute undead skeleton warriors! biggrin.gif

5)Complete game
Buy a horse? That's so boring! tongue.gif (Just kidding!)
Oh, and killing things? As in monsters or people? smile.gif (My Dunmer girl's going to kill off any other Dunmer females in the area). tongue.gif
What kind of character are you going to be playing, as LoneWolfie? A Redguard? smile.gif
Wolfie
Yup, my favourite race. And by killing things, i mean creastures, bandits, so on and so forth. biggrin.gif
And i could steal a horse but my guys are always honourable knight type guys, who only steal right at the start of the game from the customs and excise place. After that i try to avoid stealing biggrin.gif
9of9
And besides, what makes you think the stolen horse won't through you off and break your ribs? ohmy.gif
Konji
Because ashley cheng(I think) said you cant break ribs!

Anyway what makes you think a bought horse wont throw you off and break your ribs?
9of9
Well, if its a good horse it won't like you stealing it and hence throw you off. Possibly alerting its owner in the nearby tavern. Breaking your spine perhaps in that case.

Sinder Velvin
I'm going to make a mod with a re-made fargoth in it and see how many people download it. biggrin.gif
3. Morag Tong and Thieves' Guild all the way

The Morag Tong won't be in. It's a Morrowind only faction.

Perhaps you were thinking of the Dark Brotherhood?

You're right of course, but for the record, I would join the Morag Tong if I could.

Kirai - - Male Dunmer

1) Find a way to learn the Telekenesis spell, and have some fun with that.
2) Buy/Steal a horse and ride it around for a few hours.
3) Get into some fist fights with by-standers.

Until the game's released, that's all I can think of.
Lucidarius
1) Reading up on the pros and cons of the different birthsigns and races
2) Fool around with character sliders again and again and...
3) Try to complete whole game solely as a magic user
4) Wandering in the forest and be awed by the beauty
5) Watching the RAI in action
6) Ride a horse, but prefer walking (I think)
7) Disabling traps and use them on enemies instead

In short: Putting my real life on hold for as long as possible so I can devote all spare time to playing.
darkcootie
1.I would make a dunmer, breton, or altmer male. Probably altmer since I enjoy being really tall.
2.Find facy clothes. I gotsta look good.
3.Have my character take a nap in the street and see how many people kick me.
4.Play with physics.
5.Join the mages.
6.Try and find Caius Cosades(spelling) and hope he will share his house with me.
7.Join every other guild after I defeat the mages guild quests.

9.And 2 years after getting the game I will defeat the main quest just like I did with morrowind.
eldur
1) Read the manual (and any guide books if they are published...see #2)
2) Try to figure out as much game mechanics as I can to see if their are limits as to what I can learn as a character (I'd like to be a stealthy mage, so I hope their are no skill caps)
3) Play around with character creation for a few hours
4) If I have a guidebook, I'll lock it away so I dont spoil the fun of actually playing.
5) Sleep (since I'll have been up 24 hrs straight reading, installing and creating a character)
6) Explore town and observe the npc behavior AI
7) Test out the exciting things I can do involving ranged and magic combat
8) Really try to sleep this time since it's now been 48 hours and I skipped #5

-See if you can really bet on fights like the devs said
-Try main quest and if I don't like it I'll go back to doing my own thing
-Get horse and make money to buy houses
-Take what I need from people but no more than I can use

Is there any reason in particular that you took it upon yourself to revive this long dead topic?
Wolfie
Probably because he saw it and wanted to post in it. There's no rule saying you have to leave a thread after a certain number of days you know

Maybe because they never had a chance to say anything before and decided to now. So if other people and I read it (you obviously went out of your way to read it) that means it must be a worthwhile post. Now you're probably offended and therefore might decide that it's neccassary to give a retort. Don't bother though, because frankly I don't care.
DoomedOne
It's funny, people tell you

1. You can't make new topics of the same thing that's been done before

2. You can't ressurect old topics

Catch 22, let them ressurect.

Besides, I changed my mind on my to do list anyway.

1. Do the first few Main quest tasks until it feels right that my character wouldn't feel obligated to keep going.

2. Join most of the guilds and integrate reading, exploring, screwing with the physics and doing a few tasks for the guilds now and then, as well as sidequests

3. Keep going on the main quest for a few more tasks

4. Finish a guild or two, giving my character the necessary perks to amke him more bad-boat on the mainquest, as well as on more dungeons.

5. Utilize those perks for some nice dungeon raiding as well as generally making trouble for people and some sidequests.

6. Finish all the guilds

7. Complete the MQ

Time spent: maybe a year
