Prologue
My name is Hope. I think that’s kind of strange seeing as I seem to have none left in my life. Most of my life is spent around my friends and my boyfriend. But there is another, darker part of my life that no one except my three best friends know about. That part of my life scares me. Demons and ghosts inhabit it.
I know the words “she’s crazy” were probably the first words to pop into your mind. Trust me, I’m not and neither are my friends, although that would be preferable at points.
There are three other people involved in this situation. Actually, it’s our situation because this crap happens to all of us. Anyways, they are Hannah, Leah, and Luke. (No he is not gay he just likes to hang out with the boyish girls a.k.a us.) Luke doesn’t really get all the supernatural stuff, but he’s there for us when it all gets too stressful for us to handle by ourselves.
Hannah, Leah, and Luke are all thirteen. I’m the “baby” of the group since I’m only twelve. They sure don’t treat me like one though.
Hannah and Leah are a little… strange. Then again, I can’t really say anything since I’m as crazy strange as them. They do crazy stuff and tell weird jokes. Again, not really anything I can say to that. I guess our alikeness is part of the reason that we’re best friends.
Luke is probably the most responsible out of all of us. He makes sure we don’t do anything too stupid. That usually doesn’t help though, since we just go behind his back and do whatever stupid stunt we thought of this time. He yells at us sometimes for it, but we normally just ignore it. We all live down the street from each other so we hang out a lot.
Hannah, Leah, and I all have these weird powers. I can feel and hear demons and ghosts, Hannah can feel and see them, and Leah can see and talk them.
Luke has a power that he’s only told me about. He can read minds. We don’t rely on it though, because it’s very sporadic.
I have a different power too, that no one knows about. I have visions. Most of the time they’re about people dying. That’s not even the scariest part. The worst part, the scariest part, is that those visions always come true.
