Hukai The Wandering
I have an idea that can save much trouble. It aplies to all RP thread herem so I've made a new post for it. How about when we start to post, everyone just makes a post/reply that says "posting". That way you can edit it to put your peice in and everyone else who is reading will see it and not confuse people by posting something that has passed.

EX:

Bob
He jumped into the air.

Chicken
Posting-(but is writing his post using the Edit feature)

Mary
*waits to read Chicken's post to make sure she doesn't miss anything before posting her's.*

You see? Mary would have put that she caught Bob but saw Chicken's "posting" message and waited. Meanwhile, Chicken was posting that he grabbed Bob by the leg and slammed him into the ground. By simply using this simple method the RP'ers avoided the confusion that otherwise would have been:

Bob
He jumped into the air.

Chicken
Chicken grabbed Bob and slammed him into the ground. He then picked up a boulder and chucked it ontop of him.

Mary
*Didn't use the "posting" method*
Mary stood across the room, waiting to catch Bob. She caught him and sat him gentlely down beside her. "Are you alright?"

Simple, easy, and prevent major screw-ups. This has been helpful advice from you friendly neighborhood Dementedsnake (named Hukai The Wandering here).
Wolfie
that could be useful i guess

actually a really good idea. (took me a sec to get it tho.)

Meh, tongue.gif

I'm not a fan of it, edit and OOC threads tend to help avoid confusion, this much is just....a bit TOO much.

Not to mention two people could go *posting* ast the same time, only to notice each other after the fact.

No system is foolproof.
Hukai The Wandering
no system is, but this is helpful for people who type slowly...wheigh the chances of two people posting at the same time wit and without the method. which works better?

I actually like the idea.

Yesterday me and lonewolf, i think, we on, and we posted about the same time, and kinda messed up the RP a lil. i had to edit, whit was rather difficult considering I had to make it compatible with the past AND future.

"Posting" method works well. We also had a line of like 4 people yesterday too it would go, "posting" and then "posting after so-and-so" and then "posting after what's-his-face" etc.

If we had all posted at once, our RP would have gone to hell.

But think of this way;

Severla people can go "Posting", and say they're all fighting one guy.

So now that guy has to wait, and let his villian have the hell throughly pounded out of himself before responding.

Or at, have several attacks on his person coming at him, which of course, one or two would have to hit.
Hukai The Wandering
yeah, but most attacks are planed out as to who will will in the planning threads...im not saying you have to use this method, im just saying that it's helpful. smile.gif

Yeah, well, i tend to preview my post before posting, which also shows what posts have happened in my posting.

So i don't get painted up that way. tongue.gif
Hukai The Wandering
People ar going around painting RP'ers?! ... ohmy.gif ... kvright.gif ... :ashamed: Hmm. That's... not that surprising actually...
Dantrag
No, this thread isn't getting off topic.....

I almost never preview them. I alway type them, post them, read them on the actual thread, then go and edit every time I see a mistake. It's a long, annyoing process, but I find it fun.
