Alright everyone I was surfing the web searching for information about our dearly loved (or not so dearly loved by some) new Elderscrolls game titled Oblivion when I found a site that reviews games called GamePlasma. Point is that what I found amazed me, that someone could be dumb enough to believe that nobody would notice what they'd done. huh.gif

Now we all know there are games that obviously borrow things from other games or movies without permission even when they're not supposed to be related but this is the worst case I've ever seen. The areas from TES:Oblivion (March 2006) are nearly identical to the locations in Majestic Studio's 2008 point and click game "Limbo of the Lost"

Lets go to the site shall we? GamePlasma.com

So what do you guys think eh? EXTREME coincidence or shameless ripoff?

Seems you missed the big debate a month or two ago. Yeah, they obviously copied a number of assets from various games into theirs and those who've been ripped off are aware of it and last I heard are looking into legal action against those responsible.

Well its not hard for me to miss things lately with the way things have been and all. Anyways if there's already a thread about this here feel free to remove this one mate. biggrin.gif

I don't see how beth could fail to win a lawsuit, unless they sold the bits of oblivion...

Well, they might try to put a defense with the construction set and all, but thats intended for private use, and the concept of intellectual property comes in.

But otherwise, yeah, that a direct freaking ripoff.

already been dealt with; the publisher stopped all distribution of the game after the plagiarism was discovered.

"Mr Francis would like it known that his input responsiblity for Limbo of the Lost was: Original opening theme and outro music, character Script writing for Darkmere, puzzle design and voice acting, particularly that of B.S.Briggs."

Sounds like a Horse I once knew....

Apparently, they didn't just rip-off Oblivion.
