Kaso
This is my first fan fiction for me. I hope you enjoy it, I was inspired by the many great stories Ive read here and I want my character to live and breathe in the same world as all of yours do. Thanks for taking the time out to read.

The timeline is set somewhere during the events of Morrowind but in the lands of Cyrodiil.

The Kaso Chronicles: Introduction

*Clang!*

I grunted in frustration as I barely parried the attack with Stryker, my Akaviri longsword. I saw an opening and quickly returned an attack of my own.

The black clad figure sidestepped the attack and jumped back with eyes widened in shock.

I couldnt help but grin at his expression. I knew what he was thinking. His attack was executed so quickly and accurately that a Mage should not have seen it coming. Even a well seasoned BattleMage couldnt have hoped to block it. Yet, here I stand.

Flee now while you still have the opportunity to! I demanded.

I quickly glanced around and saw many of the patrons had left the tavern. Of course as always there were a few fools who stayed to watch a fight.

Three fast slivers of light caught my attention and brought it back to my current situation.

I snapped my head to the left as the first dagger flew past. The remaining two struck a wooden serving tray that happened to be floating in front of my body.

The look of surprise returned on the assassins face by was quickly replaced by a look of pain as he was smashed to the ground by two flying tables.

Hmm, now that Ive confirmed that I am really a Mage and not some fighter pretending to be one hell probably be smart and flee before the authorities come.

With a roar of anger the man got up and charged me. The Nine curse me! This has got to be the most foolish assassin in all of Tamriel.

I parried his first attack and swung hard against the incoming second strike.

The blow knocked his arm wide exposing his chest. In one fluid motion I removed my right hand from the sword hilt and pressed it against my assailants chest and muttered an incantation.

There was a bright flash, followed by the sound of crackling of energy. The man flew across the room and slammed into the wall.

Just then the entrance of the tavern burst open and six Imperial guards flooded into the room with swords drawn.

Give it up lawbreaker! We have you surrounded! The party leader said to me in typical guard-like fashion.

Before I could reply the tavern owner spoke.

No, he attacked the Redguard. The tavern owner said while pointing at the smoking heap against the wall.

The guard nodded at him and looked back at me. Very well, I need your name and association for the report.

No apologies or pleasantries, nothing of the sort. The Nine curse Imperial guardsmen. I swear sometimes I think Tamriel would do better without them.

I am BattleMage Kaso, Evoker of the Mages Guild. Im a regular here and that man attacked me. I dont know what the oblivion is wrong with him. Maybe hes on that skooma. Only the gods could tell you why he attacked me.

The guard nodded and walked over to the barely conscious man.

Lets go lawbreaker! We have you surrounded!

I threw my hands up in frustration and began fixing myself up as the dragged the man out.

I sheathed my sword and pulled out a mirror from one of my many pockets inside my royal blue robe. I needed to make sure I was still presentable; my companion will be here shortly.

I grinned as two very familiar blue eyes gazed back at me; which was very unusual for a Redguard. I remember hating them as a child because it wasnt fun at all being different. I learned to cope with being different very quickly though. In a way Im still coping. Im a Redguard BattleMage for the Nines sake.

I checked my think braids to make sure no lose strands were out. I then moved on to my cleanly shaven face to check for bruises. Not a single one which is good because today is an important day.

I sat down and opened my journal to the first page. Today I am going to share my origins with my companion and needed it to be perfect. So it wouldnt hurt to refresh my memory on how a young very unlikely Redguard became a very unique BattleMage.

The Metal Mallet
A promising start with a very interesting character... A Redguard Battlemage eh? I would certainly like to hear how he decided on that profession.

Welcome to the forums of Fan Fiction! *Trumpet blast*

Not a bad start, welcome to the forums.

Definitely a good start. And I simply love Redguards who know how to use Magicka. Join the 'Redguards with spells' club! smile.gif

Great start, well written with bit of humor and individuality. I look forward to more.
