Check out my hand drawn mountian lion! It took me days. There IS a body to go with it but I just decided not to scan it on. Now, just so you dont think it is plagerized, the stance was taken out of a drawing book by Norman Adams and Joe Singer, but it is greatly modified in color and shading.

there is a link to it...this is my FIRST fan art show biggrin.gif . Please, constructive criticism is accepted but please be easy on me sad.gif

the scan cut out a lot of the shading etc so realize it looks a lot better than it does in the image.

Even though he's not very nice, my brother helped me a little on him. I did most of the drawing though kvleft.gif

That looks realy good... a billion time better than what I could ever draw... and if you ask me... I think you nailed every detail down... well besides some color... like a golden brown coat you know?... but then again some times drawings look a billion times better when they are only on pencil... but yeah... good job man biggrin.gif ...

Sorry it's a little light due to the fact it's done in pencil and my scanner doesn't catch most of it sad.gif

Looks great Fafsa, really nice drawing - guess it look a lot of time smile.gif If you would want some critisme I guess I could say that too, even thought it's not much. Ehm, let's see... for me, the back foot (the right one) seems a little small and not all in line. A mistake I even do myself quite often is that things sometimes doesn't fit inn that good, but it's just a minor mistake here cause it's not really that easy to see...

Hmm, anything else - well if I look at some pic's of different cat animals and Mountain Lions, then all I can say is that everything looks pretty perfect except that the back-hight drops a little much before it reaches the tail... If there would be a little more straighter line from the neck to the tail, only having a few bumps for the shoulder blades could look good...

Anything else... NO. Great work Fafsa, I really hope you can draw some more - because this is really good.

BTW, remember that Neela makes 3D stuff on a program - hard work that too, but you draw by hand, something very different wink.gif At least when it comes to simple mistakes as shadow, size and stuff...

You're 100% right! FIXED

Wow, really nice job Fafsa. If you did add some stronger contrasting colors though, you'd get more depth and shadow. It'd be easy to do, because you've got everything in the right place. I understand what you're saying about your scanner not picking up on all the detail. Overall, it's very well done. You should definitely continue drawing.
Saffas Missionary
It does have depth and shadow in the actual picture, just the scan didn't catch it sad.gif

I'm not constructive and I'm no godamn critic - but I know what I like... and I like this. The Mountain Lion here looks powerful, massive and really ready, at the apex of his (hers?) strenght and agility. I like the pose, although I wonder: are those cats really that massive ? I thought they were more slender, like pumas ? Oh, nevermind it - the picture looks great.

You're right Milanius. The moment before the strike is what he's captured here ... a specialty of Michaelangelo's. Like the statue of David, he is posed with his sling at ready - loaded, aimed and muscles tensing, ready to swing. And he has other very tender statues where the being is just about to move.

It's a very good technique to know. I like it alot too Fafsa.
