basically, dirox suggested listing things that we really want to see implemented in a future elder scrolls game.
mostly i'm looking for stuff that can't be simply modded in, although, i also want things that have been, or are going to be modded in, that should have been standard.
i'll start with the ones i can think of to get things going.
1. a more complex health, magic and fatigue system to represent things like major wounds and minor wounds and immidiete energy vs. overall tiredness. like catching your breath vs a good nights sleep
2. food and hunger, drinking and thirst.
3. mounted combat and saddlebags for horses, and a riding skill attatched to allow faster riding and fancier riding, like being able to turn around even further in the saddles at heigher levels and possibly a way to dive off your horse and attack someone, you know...cool junk like that.
4. much more complex fighting and bonuses for different weapons types. like, daggers would give you a damage bonus when sneaking and maybe circumvent a few armor points on your enemies, since it'd be easier to slip a knife through weak points. shortswords would allow you to block faster, longsword and claymore are already fairly balanced. also more attacks. like maybe an underhand thrust that you can perform with a dagger while blocking, or a parry or soemthing for larger swords. you know all that stuff.
5. smart allies. ones that don't jump in front of you when you're swinging or shooting. and the ability to quickly give them commands, like "provide cover" "hold positions" "advance" "get out of the way you freakin' morons". the ability to form a party of some sort for larger missions
6. ships. big ships. accurate sailing, on larger ships, the ability to set a course with the captain and then spend time training or whatever. a full crew on larger ships, complete with cooks, sailors, and some fighters, or merchants. everyone would either be paid to be there, be assigned to you by the government or pay you a percentage to use your ship as transport. smaller boats that you might have to use magic to move. like a 10 footer with a small sail that you have to cast a spell that pours wind into it, or whatever.
7. skills lots of 'em. lots and lots of em. bring back the old ones, add new ones. skills for everything. cooking, dagger, shortsword, longsword, enchanting, spellweaving. that way you have much more room to develop different styles. maybe your'e such a great enchanter you can make a sword that does ridiculous sums of damage, but you're not that great a swordsmen and you dont have much health, but you dont' need it because your swords so good.
8. varities of enchantable staffs
9. gradual recharge for enchanted items
10. an open ocean with many many islands
11. maybe not just one government. at least two that don't really like each other, so you can choose which one you want to help.
12. children. the lack of 'em is just creepy.
and i'll leave ya'll to add on or argue against any of mine.
