You will never taste water again argonian. NEVER!
He seemed to be in a daze, repeating the words under his breath. Artur watched him intently for a few moments, unsure if he sould disturb him.
Eventually he spoke up: "Ahem, sorry, you were saying?"
The half-breed seemd to snap out of a dream.
"Oh, sorry... Where was I?"
Artur: "You where telling your life story. I am here from the Chorrol Herald to interview you for the story."
"Ah, Artur isit?"
Artur nodded, exasperated.
"You will never taste water again. That's what I have been muttering, isn't it?"
Artur: "Yes. Five times now, can we begin? What was your name again?"
"For now you can call me HEY YOU! Haha, don't worry, that was my slave name. Shortened to YOU."
Artur: "Okaayyy... Y O U... there, now begin at the beginning, pass through the middle and end at the end please Mr You."
HEY YOU: "The words I remember first, was the ones I have been muttering before. You will never taste water again...
[STORY BEGINS]
I recall them being said to me, though not by whom, as if the person was taunting me. Again, again, again and again...
I would hear them in a dream. A nightmare, because the more that person said it, the more I ached for water. Argonians LOVE water, you understand?
[Artur nodded, glancing up from where his enchanted pen was writing everything down, you just cant trust these things spelling.]
The first WAKING memory I have, is snapping out of that dream, again. And looking upon Lala. I thought I was dead at last, relieved from my mortal shell. From my life of hell.
Lala: "Father, he is awake!"
Father: "Ahhh... he made it! And at last we can see you!"
I glanced around the room. I was in a bedroom. Sunlight falling on my face, and glistening through Lala's hair as she stared at me intently. I knew not where I was. All I knew was that I felt safe, and THIRSTY!
Then I saw it...
A bucket of water! Instictively I bounced out of bed as if a snake was in there! I leaped over Lala, almost knocking her over in my haste to wet may parched palate.
Father: "HEY YOU! Carefull!"
Fear jolted through me at the sound of a stern voice, and a familiar name, often heard before a whipping. Instinct made me cringe, and hide.
Father: "Awww darnit, there he goes again! How he does it so easily is beyond me."
I looked at them, searching for me.
Father: "Lala, bring me the potion."
I wathced Lala scurry out of the room, and then come back with something in a vile that Father proceeded to drink.
Father: "Ahh, there you are. I can detect life with this potion you know?"
I was dumbfounded. HE WAS LOOKING STRAIGHT AT ME!
Father: "Don't be afraid boy. I don't know how you managed the Invisibility spell at your age, but you are sure adept at it. It seems to be triggered out of fear yes?"
Slowly I nodded, and continued drinking. Was this the beginning of a new life?
[Story interrupted]
Hey You: "Say Artur! Want another beer? I can sure do with a glass of water!"
Artur sighed, exasperated, how the heck did he end up soing a story on some crazy half breed ex slave turned who knows?
Artur: "BARMAN! A beer and a water please! Wait, you have anything stronger than beer?"
The barman shuffled over with berry ale and water in large pitchers.
Artur watched his guest drink the water with relish. Who was this man really?

The half-breed sat back in his chair and clasped his hands behind his head.
"Ahhh. You know Artur, I can't read minds, but that enchanted pen of your is sure nifty. I know what you think of me. Half-breed ex slave indeed!"
Artur nearly swallowed the pitcher. Slowly, almost carefully, he looked down at the paper where his pen was still busily scribbling away:
How did I end up doing a story on some crazy half-breed ex-slave turned who knows?
There, ever faithfully, his pen had spilled the beans. Artur hated the thing, and now he had one more reason.
The darned thing seemed to actually smile at him as it scribbled away...
Artur: "Erm, ya whaha wha... yah?"
The half breed laughed.
Hey You: "No offence taken Breton, your assessment is almost correct anyway, pull yourself together and I'll continue..."
[Story Continues]
My first day with Lala and Father consisted mostly of patching up my wounds, it seemed that I had been whipped extensively and left for dead next to a road. Father, he insisted I call him that, only spotted me because squirrel sat on my back and seemed to hover in mid-air. I had turned invisible, my standard fear reaction it would seem.
After patching my wounds, Lala and Father left me to my own devices. I was free to go, or stay, and I chose to stay. Why, I am not sure to this day. All I know is that it was a good thing to do.
I wandered around the yard, peeked through windows at the people who took me in, and hid myself whenever a passer by happened on the path that went by the yard gate.
When evening fell, I climbed the tree that grew in the front corner of the yard. I let the setting suns last rays warm my scales as I sat there. I tried to make sense of what had happened to me that day.
I could not remember anything before I woke up, I was badly wounded, possibly from a whipping, I was probably a thief, a murderer or, as slave. Father and Lala took me in.
Father, I new not what his real name was, seemed to be a farmer, with some hidden secrets. He was a Nord, or Norsman, I wasn't sure what to call his race at that time, I am still unsure, in fact.
As night fell, Lala came out and called to me. Well, nobody knew my name, me included, so calling to me consisted of her comically scurrying around the garden and whispering "Yoohoo! You still here?"
Well I decided staying out was worse than staying in, so I hopped out of the tree and followed her inside. They offered me some food, fish, if I recall, and some roots boiled soft. I thought it was the best food I ever ate.
Later we all went to bed, I got to sleep in the loft, and so ended my first day with my new family.
[Another Interruption]
Hey You eyed his empty pitcher, but then seemed to think better of it.
"Artur, it's getting late. You need to get home, and I need to get some rest. I, it, ahem, I, uh... it's not easy for me to have to remember all these things you know. I find these memories strangely disturbing..."
Artur sat dumbfounded. The sun is just setting! Surely this half breed was up to something. At least he had the sense to pocket the cursed pen before he had that thought, otherwise his head might have been rolling on the floor by now.
Artur: "Okay sir, ahem, sorry about earlier?"
Hey You: "YES! Haha, you are not the first nor possibly the last to have similar thoughts about me. But really, hurry along, I am tired."
Artur agreed, but he KNEW something was up. He decided to wait discretely outside the inn and see what this half-breed was up to. He thanked his host, paid the bartender, and went outside. He was not familiar with the Cheydinhal, having travelled from Chorrol only the previous day, but he could not let up on his hunch. He waited around the cornen from the in, behind a bush that grew there.
He did not need to wait long. The half-breed came out of the Inn shortly after he took up his position. He did not seem to be cautious, but he was certainly preoccupied with his own thoughts. Artur followed him out of the East Gate. A little outside the gate was the Black Waterside Stables, Artur's own mare was stabled there.
Hey You spoke to the stable hand, and took a horse. Clearly still deep in thought he galloped north. Artur quickly saddled his own mare and followed north, fearing he might have lost his quarry.
Curses, he thought, have I lost him?
After a while, he noticed horse tracks heading north. Feeling his quarry close by, he dismounted and crept through the bush, not wanting to be seen.
And there he was. Sitting on the edge of a lake. If he remembered correctly, it was lake Arrius. He was sitting, staring over the water, as if waiting on something. It seemed as if Hey You was waiting for a moment to present itself for him to act upon. Artur looked closely, and, YES! He was crying! Tears where running down the Half-Breed's cheeks.
Suddenly the Half-Breed leapt to his feet and cried out, with all his strength, as if to scare of a demon: "ONE DAY I WILL TASTE THIS WATER! ONE DAY VICTORY WILL BE MIIIIINNNEEE!"
What in the blazes was he on about?
