i played around with the noclipping thing in the console, and the problem most mentioned that i've seen is that when you get over cities, they wouldn't actually be there because the cities are in a seperate world that's loaded when you walk through doors

but you can still fly over it and it looks fine as long as you don't get too close.

another problem is moddeling. from what i understand it's impossible to model in oblivion, for now, right?

but there's gotta be a way around that soon enough...

so what if someone took a regular horse, and somehow modelled a set of wings onto it. whenever you road it, the wings would rest at it's side and it'd work just like a regular horse, however, if you got it a decent speed, and jumped, it'd spread it's wings and fly. i'm not sure about feasability, but if someone could do it, it'd make travel fast enough that you could remove the fast travel option from the menu, even if it's a cheap way of doing it, like tricking the game into thinking there's always an enemy present.

but that could bring back the feeling of travel, and generally make the game much more enjoyable if you ask me. but hey, that's my two cents.

so does anyone know if there's a way to model in obivion yet? or if there's one on the way?

why not just bring back leviatate?

i once saw something about a mod that made all of the houses in the imperial city into one cell instead of three (basement ground level second story). could you do this with the cities? i'd love to jump over the walls like i could in morrowind. perhaps someone could add guards on the ramparts and such, too?

if you want to fly, find the console command for toggling(spell?) collision, then you could go strait up if you wanted to, that way you can fly and not have to do any modding, plus just cuz ur horse can fly doesnt mean that your horse needs wings, take that demon inferno horse from Inuyasha for instance, sure its got flames under its feet but thats so it can look cooler

well, yeah...i could just enable no clipping, but that's not exactly fast, and it's not really fun or cool either. the point of the flying horse or whatever would be to make manually, physically going places, rather than fast travelling there, fun and something you wouldn't mind doing.

I think you should just make it so horses can glide, flying is a little too extreme.

As for no fast travel dude, i play without fast travel, waiting, and i use a sleep mod so i can only sleep when im tired biggrin.gif.

this script will disable fast travel. ( you also need to make is a quest script, and attatch it to a quest )

Scriptname DisableFastTravelScript

Short Once

Begin MenuMode
if once == 0
EnableFastTravel 0
set once to 1
endif
end

off the top of my head, that should work, disableing wait is done by going through the cells and unchecking "Can Wait"

so, a pegasis would be pretty cool to glide from high places, but not to fly, solving the problem with flying above cities for the most part.

true, but my main annoyance was a large portion of the quests require travelling long distances and this would allow fast travel that's actually travelling, and gliding would make most trips only work one way, maybe you could add a height limiter so that the horse can only fly high enough to avoid big rocks, get over rivers, and the like, but not high enough to easily get over cities. and even if you can get over cities, since it's a mod, anyone that installs it will probaly read the read me to see how it works, and you can just say, hey...don't fly into cities, land outside and walk in. or else you'll wander and empty town with buildings that don't quite connect to the ground. if they fly into a city and fall through a hole somewhere. well...that's just their fault.
