Full Version: Item Placement
Chorrol.com > Elder Scrolls Games > Oblivion
Obodi
In Morrowind you were able to place items on tables, floors, bookshelfs, just about
anywhere in the game.

I have not as yet found a way to do this.
If a way exist, please tell me what I must do to be able to place items from my inventory to the place in the world I would like it to be.

Thanks in advance for any help that you may provide me.

Use the 'Hold' move thing. Where you pick it up in front of you (like in the trailer with the skull) and throw it on the table.

It's horribly done though, so you can just forget about decorating your house sad.gif
Some people say that it's easier with telekinesis, but i don't know myself user posted image

I don't have much of a problem decorating my house. You just have to make sure you walk with the item instead of running.

I tryed that, but with no sucess sad.gif
World physics are the one to blame. Placing a sword, helm or shield in the right angle is so anoying, that I lose my intrest to decorate my house almost instantly kvright.gif

Also, placing the clutter the way I want can be frustrating, especialy the plates mad.gif

And not to mention that I absolutly don't have any chance of placing my books right user posted image

Yeah. The world physics are... extreme. tongue.gif

Yeah... Stacking is hard... sad.gif But, the book placement is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Lay them down flat, then grab them again and carefully stand them up. Works for me.

You might want to search the wikipedia page for any mods...

I scrawled through last time and among other things i read something about a mod to make decorating easier. I am not so sure exactly which one -i am not the decorating type- but if you are interested, search in google for wiki / wikipedia or oblivion mod and then select the result conntaining wikipedia...

Cheers.....

Yeah I also discovered the art of book stacking, I also found out that being in sneak helps with the shelves lower down. Only problem is it seems so much as a mouse fart can create a tornado of books swirling around the room/tower. tongue.gif

Of course I exaggerated, but you gotta admit they can be easy to knock over, right?

Also my wizards tower bookcases seem to be talior made only for the hundreds of copies of the same books. Any other placed on that shelf will simply sink through to the next one down.
Kayla
Yeah. They're very easy to knock over. I end up quicksaving many times just trying to decorate my house! tongue.gif

I wonder... *Decides on something* I'm going to make a giant pile of books (when I get oblivion) and shoot fireballs at it!!! (uber book-storm...)
Kayla
I actually like to line up pots, baskets, plates, books, pitchers and other assorted things and throw stuff at them.
Aki
Its do-able but frustrating.

Aylied statues (they ones you use to start the Umbaccano quests) are the worst I've encountered thus far though. The things do NOT want to stand up, and when they DO they do it upside down... wacko.gif
