Hello everyone! I just signed up here and Stargelman set me up with glorious hosting, so I figured I'd better introduce myself to the local community. It's nice to see a forum that isn't scrolling threads off in two seconds - I'll do my best to contribute in a meaningful way.

The Complete Gardening mod (currently on version 1.42) allows the player to greatly expand the flora in the game. The player takes existing ingredients from plants and mushrooms and them in a Planting Sack, along with fertilizers. The sack is creatable by a spell or by the Gloves of Gardening. The plant then grows a predetermined time later, set by default to be 5 days.

The plant is IDENTICAL to any other flora out there. It respawns ingredients just like any other plant or mushroom. It does not go away when harvested, unless you have the Harvest Mod installed.

The plants and ingredients did not pick up scripts in this mod. The mod completely leaves untouched stock items, retaining perfect compatibility with the world. You gain access to the gardening abilities via a quest script (not a quest itself though.) This mod has NO compatibility issues.

People on the official forums have been going nuts, creating huge gardens outside and in their homes. There is no location checking, that's left up to the player - it doesn't make sense to have a giant pumpkin plant in a dark room, or a bloodgrass/harrada sitting next to an imperial guard station, but you could potentially do both things...

Anyway. The mod is fully user-customizable. There are two modes, Patient and Mage. Patient mode is realistic, and takes days for the plants to appear. Mage mode is instantaneous, you create the sack via magicka - this was a suprisingly in-demand feature. The settings are accessed via a scroll added to your inventory; it has a fully functional multilevel messagebox menu, a somewhat tricky task! This design frees a mod from CLUMSY multi-ESP distributions where you're left wondering which esp does exactly what...

So there you have it. The gardening mod - an alchemist's dream, a home decorator's delight, and best of all bug free and intercompatible with other mods!

Whoops, I could have mentioned that...
You can ONLY plant things that have flora models in the game (all mushrooms I think and about 80% of the plants... apples pears ginkgo and some others do not have models.) Right now I'm in a roadblock at getting harvestable trees in - tree models aren't .nifs and that is causing big big problems.

Heh. Yes, it's very good to get it downloaded...
Some people go nuts with the garden and plant hundreds of plants, but a lot of folks just plant the rare plants they use a lot (dragon's tongue for example.) One guy even had the idea of wandering around in the wilderness planting plants.
