While enjoyable Oblivion seemed way shorter than Morrowind. I also didn't like the idea of the endless dungeon crawls that seemed more or less the same. Any word on when they may release an expansion and weather or not it will be on the same scale as the Morrowind expansions? I would really hate to buy an expansion at full price and have it be the same endless dungeon crawling crap as main stream Oblivion.

Well, they say that they will publish an expansion, but they're not working on it right now. And if you ask me, I don't think it's gonna be anytime soon, since they're focused on making pay-to-go plugins. But don't worry, stargelman will certanly inform us if anything about this comes out....

Yeah, What is the hell is this pay to go? What ever happend to just takin your sweet time and making a REAL expansion?

That's one of the players bigest concerns: Will Bethesda make expansion set, if mods bring them enough money (equal to profit of the exp set)? I certanly hope that they will start working on the expansion as soon as posible, because just like for you, regular Oblivion became boring for me.

On the bright side, we have a very strong modding community. There are mods that balance the game, improve GUI, add new creatures etc. There are even groups that are making big landmases, with new quests, weapons, storyline and all. You can call that a ''community expansion sets''

Just imagine if they made it hard to mod. Cause ya know its sorta made to be modded. In fact, the game is almost a giant mod if I am right. They have the basic game engine, cant do anything, then they just made a giant mod and plugged it into the game engine.

The games main file is like a mod file. It obviously is told that it cant run without it. Basically, you could create the whole game in that construction set

Yes, that's true, you can create the whole fame in the CS, those projects are called Total Conversions. Unfortinatly in most cases, they get canceled

unfortunately the more beautiful and high tech the games get, the more complicated they become too... To pull a real good mod with all that coding and all that 3d design (which are about the hardest parts i believe) ... hard to maintain motivation without payment :/

Well, hopefully they(bethesda) won't turn into the next CA(creative assembly) and depend on the modding community to fix bugs and make expansions....if so this will be the last oblivion series game I buy. Would be a real shame too i had so much fun with morrowind.
