I´v been following the Elder Scrolls game for quite some time now... and i wonder... why does Bethesda allways make a game of just ONE province of Tamriel....
Why not make a game... wich can take you anywhere in Tamriel..
For example.. From the Summerset Isles to Cyrodiil, and then to Morrowind.
Then pay a visit to Skyrim...
That would be great..
It´ll be alot of work if they ever decide to make such a game. but it´ll be worth it!

Actually the very first title, Arena, was just as you described. You could visit any of the provinces with the exception of Cyrodiil actually.

You can download it for free now from Elderscrolls.com. However, you will need to get Dosbox up and running too as well to play it.

Personally, I like the smaller single province games when they decide to spend the extra time adding the lore/culture/etc. to make it believable.

It would be great if they could do that for every province in one game... but it would probably take so long that we'd be preparing to assassinate every member of Bethesda for taking too long in bringing out the next Elder Scrolls... Single provinces are probably better for now but one day they'll probably release another where you can go to every single province.

Well, guys at Vvardenfell are rebuilding Morrowind togehter with Silgrad team.

The trend is away from quantity and towards quality. I don't see us getting a TES game of Arena's scope ever again. But then again, for all its game world size, there really wasn't all that much to do in Arena!

This is where the modding community comes in

Most mods like this end up getting canceled, though.

How is Tamriel rebuilt coming along anyway?

Aren't they working on TES3?
I didn't hear anything about moving their work to Oblivion.

ummm TES 3 is Morrowind... TES 4 is Oblivon... they'd be working on TES 5 right now...

Tamriel Rebuilt, a mod for TESIII: Morrowind. Their original goal was to create all of Tamriel in the TESIII engine but now it seems like they will only create the province of Morrowind with the old engine and then use the Oblivion engine for the rest. Work has apparently begun on Hammerfell already.

Oh... I thought that he thought that Oblivon was TES II... lol sry.

well if they made the game that big with such good graphics and all that other technical stuff. wouldnt it take a really big boat computer to run it.

Yeah... it would... But they won't be making that kind of game anytime soon...
