I am the kind of player who usually gathers information before going to dark places with ugly looking people. So i read that going to the shrine of azure and after that to the mines to slay her followers is a mission you can take on lvl 2. Well... i went (lvl 3 char.)i saw and i shut my eyes real fast. The first follower forced me to use up all my potions, one that i managed to kill but if you ask me it took wayyyy to long. The next two simply beat the misery out of me. After those i found yet two more although i was under the impression they were 4 and not 5?Anyway they were even harder...one keeps summoning zombies and i haven't managed to scalp their ugly little heads yet.I m guessing that my weapons arent really the best since i do little damage after every swing. I am a battle mage with the boosts of my birthsign (warrior). I use a two handed weapon (dmg 5) and flares as well frost and shock magic. Is there a specific type of weapon that inflicts more damage to them? Or should i just leave them be for the beeing and return when stronger? (live to fight another day? tongue.gif )

P.S.:lowering the difficulty bar is not considered an option, at least not for me. The rest of the game i find it to be at a normal difficulty, lowering it for the mine means i can just as well turn godmode on nono.gif

Well, I did it on a low level the first time (and it was harrrrrd), then on about level 9 (and it was easy). The way I did it was thus.

1) Go into the mine during day.
2) whack one of them in the head
3) leave the mine and get them to follow you.
4) Run away whilst firing arrows/spells at them, all the while watching as they take sunlight damage because they're vampires.
5) repeat until mine is clear.

Hope that helps.

Hehe, nice strategy Foster. biggrin.gif

I've also only done this at higher levels and had no problem.

Just a quick tip in case you didn't know, H3lliN: Try not to use too much time and effort on the summoned creatures, as they will disappear when you kill the guys that summon them.

And also the standard tips: Try to sneak up on them in the darkness. If you can get in a hit before they detect you, you'll do more damage (6x for blades).

Use enchanted weapons. A blade with a simple 10 fire damage makes quite a difference.

Make some poisons and use them on your bow and/or blades. You should be able to make poisons even with Alchemy skill below 25 I think.

And remember to block! smile.gif

Oh, and one more thing: Summoning creatures yourself is very handy - even the weak ones, as they distract the enemies. I think you should already have gotten the summon skeleton spell by now, or...?

I summon skeletons but the second wave of undead destroys them in one hit so that pretty much becomes useless...since they both attack together summoning during the fight only allows them to get hits on me with my guard down. I tried sneaking so i would lure just one out but soon after the first hit the second one comes anyway. Sneaking skill is quite low in my char so geting closer than a few feet from them is impossible. Tried with the chameleon spell too but that didnt get me much closer...I m guessing they have the vampire's detect life ability?
I have a pretty good alchemy skill (able to make potions with 2 effects) so i ll try that poison as well as drawing them outside for a good dose of sunbathing.
I haven't found any enchanted items yet and i think i can't enchant any just yet. In the first pair of vampires (2nd and 3rd vampire encounter) there is an orcish charachter with steel armour...that's my biggest headache,he manages to make my screen go dizzy every second strike or so.
The second pair should be easier when i manage to take out the mage who should have low armour and stop him from summoning every time. I try to hit the mage but with 3 enemies coming, 2 of which melee they tend to get in the way when i target one specific enemy.
It is the trial and error path for this i guess!

By the way my compliments to the forum administrators (and people participating) it look/works good and covers a lot.

Remember that they are Vampires, and they have 50% Fire weakness.
You're a mage?
Just flush them out with fireballs.Or if you have acess to spellmaking, make a 100% Fire Weakness spell.I think that you will only need Journeyman perk for 20 seconds.

Then Vampires will have 150% fire weakness, and they're a joke.Foster's Daylight startegy should work too.

Also, since you're an alchemist you might try making some fire poisons smile.gif
destroy 13
cant you just wait until your a higher level?

i did this when i was about lvl. 13, and it was easy. i didnt use any magic, cos im a warrior. i wacked em with my sword to kill em, good old fashioned way!! biggrin.gif

yeh, idid get vampires disease, but i cured that with a visit to the chapel. also, when i paid em a visit, an orc ahd a nice set of ebony armour, which helped me alot through some tough bits in the game. plus you get some nice weopans to. its a win-win situation! ( exept for maybe getting killed) smile.gif

with the zombie-making man, just use some good magical weopans (did i spell it right?) or, just ignore the zombies, and go for the vampire instead. then when he's dead thezombies go. simple as!

I did all shrine quest (except the star soul stone) when lvl 25+... dead easy :-)

Well i managed to get in and get out alive! At lvl 2 i followed Foster's advice (cheers !) and drew them out in the daylight. I didn't notice them taking too much damage from the sun though...
I engaged the first undead in a swordfight not taking much dmg (spared my bottles biggrin.gif) and then got in and out with the next 2.But i realised Bethesda (spelled well i hope) hasn't managed to program the game any better than Jowood in Gothic 2. I jumped on a high enough rock outside the caves and 99% of the times the enemy couldn't follow! I then took out the one without armour and weapons with 2 flares and then used a lot of flares on the orcish character. When both dead i went back in, found the summoning undead char. far away from the last undead warrior so he went down with 2 flares too (strange enough he summoned no creatures but decided to use his bow :S). Against ranged attacks hiding behind pillars and coming out to release some magic proved very efficient. Then i went to find the last enemy (second and last tough one for me) and he was stuck in a tunnel trying to come close to me but always colliding with two pillars there! He died with a ton of flares from a far distance...But i guess so much for A.I. ! Then activated god mode to carry every item found back to a merchant...call me cheater but it spares time on going back and forth...maybe i will install the horsebags mod so it is more realistic. Just afraid to make the game buggy that way...
Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
Olav
Congrats! smile.gif

Also a nice way to carry out all the loot is - again - potions. Feather potions are very effective. I think the ones I'm currently mixing give me about 350 feather for 400 seconds or something. Take 4 of those and you can carry the world... biggrin.gif

Oh and I use the saddlebag mod as well. It has some incompatibility issues with the horse armor mod, so I've disabled the horse armor. The horse is an excellent (and realistic) place to store ... potions! biggrin.gif
