when i use Nifskope.
From a default mesh & texture always reopening CS to test, and
always repasting the original mesh file.
Reinstalled nifskope
(CHECK)
same results
opened nifskope and resaved mesh
(CHECK)
works
reselected texture (weapons/akavirilongsword.dds) and saved
(CHECK)
sword was pink, and path to the texture in nifskope was different
reselected texture in nif scope, then pasted the old path beside
the flower icon in the bloack list
(textures\weapons\AkaviriLongsword.dds)
and saved
(CHECK)
it worked, so i figure, its either the back slashes, or the left
out "testures" at the start of the path
edited the path of the texture, i just removed the "textures" part
and saved
(Check)
sword was pink so the path is vital (you might be thinking duh?
but if you were having this problem you would be trying everything
as well
) 0KB for mesh file?just chenged the name of the mesh from longsword to longsword2

works, so i figure the name of the mesh does not matter, as long
as the path to the texture is correct
put a custom texture into the same folder as the default
akavirilongsword texture, opened longsword in nifscope, but i did
not click the flower to select the path, instead i just edited the
path next to the flower, and changed akavirilongsword.dds to
WoodlandSword1.dds

WORKS!!! so this goes to show you that trying to explain your
problem to someone so that they understand, in turn helps you
understand better
hence the best way to learn is to teach
i feel a great deal of relief now, and im going to test this in
game
Chenged mesh name to WoodlandSword1 and edited path beside the
floer so it reads WoodlandSword1

works, and looks very pretty i might add, not that That problem
has been solved, thanks to you guys
i have a new question
what can i make it select the correct path when i pick a DDS file
using the flower icon?
in the mean time i can use this method, but it would be great to
just brouse the dds files and select at will
PS. i used to be able to select dds wile with the flower icon, but
for some myserious reason, thats all changed, perhaps because i've
restarted my computer, ive only had it 2 days you see.
I would be MOST GREATFULL to anyone who can tell me why this is, and how i
can fix this.
