Ok after the discussion
here I thought I would ask for a spoiler regarding completing that quest. Hypno regrets completing it, and I would like to know why...
It's the quest where you agree to help Agronak the current Arena champion. I've done what he asked of me, but haven't returned to talk to him yet.

I sent a PM to Elendil,so i will just copy\paste it here:
You can get the quest by talking to Agronak (The gray Orc)
If you chose to follow Agronak-Gro-Malag's quest and go to Crowheaven, you will find out that his father is not a wealthy noble, than he is a vampire. To prove this to Agronak (The Gray Prince),you will have to bring him his father's diary. When he read it he will say:No.....how can this be?I'm a spawn of a filthy vampire....My father wasn't a noble!I'm no Prince! Now please leave me be in my despair.......
When you did this quest for him,you will get a great suprise when you get in the arena. It all starts normal, the great speaker anouncment, and the fight begins. As you rush towards eash other, you are already preparing a blow, and then you get a suprise.Agronak just stands there and says:''Just kill me,i don't want to live like this''.If you try to converse or tount him he will say the same. And then you cut him like a child, when he's not defending himself.Cuting him down like that:It just didn't feel right.I didn't want to become the Grand Champion like that!
If you chose not to do his quest....You can fight him.And give the poeple of Cyrodill what they came to see.I must try this with my second character.

SPOILER!!!!!!
----
----
----
You find out that the Grey Prince's father is a crazy old half-naked vampire. After you kill him and take his journal back to the Grey Prince, he goes off on one about how happy he is, rewards you with some training, then reads the journal and gets muchos depressed.
Then, when you fight him in the arena, he decides he doesn't want to live and doesn't defend himself. He just asks you to kill him. So, you beat him, kill him without any fight at all, become Grand Champion... and get approached by the Dark Brotherhood for murdering someone. Even if you don't consider it murder, the DB do.
Edit: Yeah, pretty much as above.

Thanks guys. Think I'll have to try both approaches and see what it's like. I guess either way the quest will be removed from the active quests page?
Since I'm early in the game this would be a good way to get into the DB though, so I'll probably fight him fair and square first, and then reload and do the other appoach afterwards.
Cheers!

Just wanted to mention that it was not possible to complete this quest by fighting Agronak fair and square. Once I spoke to him and had his father's journal on me the quest script took over. I tied to drop the journal before talking to him, but that didn't work ("not possible to drop quest items"..).
I had done several other quests since I found that journal, and didn't feel like reloading.

Hehe, I had no idea that the adoring fan was related to this before he came up to me. I thought he was some modded character. I had him following me for a while but he got too annoying...
And I haven't noticed anything special after being Grand Champion other than a few of the NPCs are talking about it, and I think fame went up 5 points or something.
Well at least I'm in the Dark Brotherhood now...

Now you can talk to the lady in the corner and fight creatures once a week. The creatures will level with you. When you're level 40 you can fight 3 Minotaur Lords at the same time (they're not that hard at that level) and earn yourself a nice 5,000 per fight.
About your Adoring Fan:He is a substitude for Fargoth. An anoher anoying wood elf that likes you.Just tell him to wait somewhere (i keep him locked in Tiber Septim Hotel room),and don't think about him.Or you can do what a lot of other people do:Kill your Adoring Fan in the most creative way you can think of.Then you post a video about it

I tried to kill him but the guards didn't like that for some reason. No, I just told him to get lost, and he's waiting for me in the Arena area should I 'need' him again (having both him and a Fire Atronach from the wizard tower following you everywhere got a bit too much).
And regarding the fights, they are a nice challenge. Only level 12 or so when I finished, so I fought a bear and 2 Minotaurs (not lords). Earned me 1800 gold.
The Arena concept in general is a very cool feature, with the announcer and the possibility to bet on games and observe others fight. A shame it isn't possible to fight more than one match a week.

I deeply regret showing him off...haven't seen him since.
I had a couple of Everscamps for a while though, very useful for raising some hand-to-hand and magic skills...
I had the funniest moment yet with these guys. I just stood and watched them for a while, when one of them started to scrath himself on the belly and under his arms like a monkey
Kinda miss'em actually. Those adoring snoring hissing little creatures...

Isn't he still outside the Arena? When I told him I didn't want him around anymore he told me he'd be waiting for me in the Arena area if I changed my mind. He should be at one of those places where there are barrels and crates and stuff.

You can kill your adoring fan whenever, and if the "video" doesnt turn out (according to the guide) he will respawn... There is always another idiot groupie...
He he..

So I tracked him down outside the arena, only to have him follow me into a dungeon and get himself killed. Darn...

I'm surprised he even followed you into a cave, that coward! I was doing my normal practise session of conjuring skeletons and fight them close to where that place where he hangs out. As soon as the skeleton started attacking me, the adoring fan headed straight for the nearest door!

He came back later though.
Btw, I also did some training in the Arena practise area, and even that guy that gives you matches (before you're grand champion) runs off when my conjured creatures attacks me!

...but much to my surprise, he shows up again in a mine later on.
Maybe he has a staff of worms...

First,
I agree that it would be fun to try fighting the orc. He does give some decent skill bonuses for a newbie character but they're not very necessary.
I found the fan annoying and told him to get lost pretty quickly
You can fight three Minotaur Lords simultaneously in the arena much earlier than level 40. IIRC, I was fighting them as early as level 15-16.

I've fought two fights after becomeing grand champion, once at level 12 or 13 and once when I had just become level 15. Both times I just got an option to fight a bear and two minotaurs (not lords).
Aren't enemies, loot etc. upgraded for every 5 levels you gain? So i may have to wait until level 20 or 25 to get tougher enemies here? Finally starting to see some glass loot, though.

And at what level do the real bad guys show up, the ones that classify as grand souls (those Xival... uhm... something and the other ones)?

They don't.
3 Minotaur Lords are maximum.
The money levels however!

Thanks, but I didn't mean in the Arena, but in the game in general.
Come to think of it I should perhaps have started a new thread asking for that.
Btw the first time I fought I got 1770-something gold, but the next time I got a little over 1100 (same enemies like mentioned). The second time I slid the difficulty slider a bit up so I had to fight longer though. Maybe this is relevant to payment? The first time I knocked them all out in a few seconds with an area effect spell.
