I have the hankering to make a fully vampire character to be my *evil* one. Who will do lots of killing, Dark Brotherhood quests, etc. So I was curious, what is the closest dungeon that you can enter to get Vampirised to your starting location? What would a good class be? (I have been a sneak attack archer with my main character so I was rather wanting something different this time around). Any good race I could pick? And is there any hints on creating my player that would allow his vamp face to look at least acceptable?

Absolute closest place I found was Memorial Cave. Its on the eastern bank of the lake that surround the imperial city. Almost straight east from the Arcane academy.
As far as class goes.. the Dark Brotherhood favors stealthy characters alot, but really anyone can complete it if you don't care about getting the bonuses. I find Illusionists can almost compete with any thief.
Your vampire appearance will always look older so go as young as possible when creating...
If you are on the PC check out a number of mods that have been created so that vampire stages don't age you.

Neela is absolutely right! Definitely check out the anti-aging mods. There has been so much contention among the vampiric hordes of Obliv players because apparently after a certain point in the game, your character not only horribly ages but actually just turns into this default vampire face that he'll permanently keep unless you get a mod or keep renewing his appearance by harking back to your save games file.
Even female vampires get this awful default male vampire face when reaching a certain age ... so I will always say this same thing that I firmly believe:
All vampires should be all sexy all the time ... how else are they going to lure their victims into haplessly baring their necks???

*smirks* Yes. I will definitly think about modding then. Already been installing a few mods so one more won't hurt. For character I am maybe thinking some sort of evil little man with skills in illusion and swordsmanship. I really do not want to wear armour though... I have my eye on some sexy black shirts and pants. :-p

Actually, the closest place is the imperial city sewers. There are vampires everywhere. Watch out for zombies though, they have a really annoying disease. If you do the thieves guild quests, there are also some during the boots of springheeled jak quest.

and if none of those suit your fancy, you can catch it from an arena side-quest.
also, the azura quest works as well.

I got it from the Azura's shrine quest. I think it is the Bruma mages guild has a piece of glowdust laying around, and you can do her quest at level 3 (I did it) and then you get the Azura's Star, which is great for enchanting anyway!! I have the game set at about 3/4 dificulty, and when I was level 3, those vampires were wearing STEEL!! No biggy though, just pull them out, one at a time, run out side, and go to your left in a circle, so you are on top of the entrance. From there facing the direction as is you were looking out the door, you can look to your left a bit, and see an outcropping. You can easily jump on it, and sit up there and use the starter fire spell, to, eventually, after 10 minutes, kill one. Rest, rinse, and repeat. Pick one that you think you can take a couple hits from without dying (one of the warriors had a silly little dagger), get him down to almost no health, quicksave, drop down, let him hit you till get the disease, and finish him off.
I think I am rerolling my Char tonight... I started with a Redguard warrior type. I wanted the strength, and I thought the Resist Disease and Poison was cool, as well as the Adrenaline. But a stage 4 vamp gets +20 Str, Will, and Speed!! So Attributes that would be important to start with would be Endurance and Int (IMO). Also, on 3/4 difficulty, I am finding surviving melee with a humanoid to take WAY TOO LONG AND HARD!! I have to hit people like 50-60 times!! Seriously, I keep my fatigue up, and I run around and I dont (usually) get hit, but I will almost break a silver longsword (at level 4) before one of them dies.
Also, you get +20 to sneak, acrobatics, destruction, and a couple others (Illusion? maybe). So destruction/marksman thief/mage seems the way to go...
The bonus speed, stealth, and acro will make me good for sneaking. The magic will give me some power, and I think I will go Breton/ Mage sign. Not sure...
Also, there is a doom stone directly north of Skingrad, straight east from the Sanguine shrine that you can activate at fame of 10 (I think thats how they work) anyway, when I first found it, it said "as your fame grows, so does... (something, dont remember). So I kept going back to it after my fame would go up, and when it was 10, I got this 120 second invisiabilty power (like the Birthsign one) but FREE!! Also, some of these stones that look similar conjure REALLY LONG LASTING Daedric stuff, so that is good stuff for a vampire as well!!
Vampires RULE!! +20 resist normal weapons for stage 4 FTW!!

Yeah I agree vampirism if you work the strategy right and understand it has bonuses that definitely outweigh the weaknesses (IE keep on your toes about time, or you'll get stuck somewhere, always have a fast horse and some strong heal potions on reseve and make sure to know where all the villages and inns are at so you can wait there until 8 pm before you fast travel. if you keep that in mind, then you can balance being a level 4 while in the wilderness, and level 1 while in town.

http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=2262This is the one I use. You can choose how much your vampire is affected. (Whether you want to keep the red eyes, wrinkles, etc)

Try the order of virtous blood quest. It has a bunch of them. Doing the dark brotherhood thing is the easiest way. Or the pale lady if you're doing thieves guild. I think she gives you the disease instantly but im not sure.
