I was planning on using the abondoned shack in the Imperial City Waterfront as a temporary base until I can afford a real house. But will my things disappear if I leave them there, since I don't own it?

Or can the shack be bought?

Another thing, when I was about to drop stuff off there just now, there was a guy in there. Some unemployed dude from Solstheim. Will he steal my stuff, or can I kill him? evillol.sml.gif

I think not.I remember droping some stuff on the ground in Waterfront District (Imperial City) and nobody picked it up.I THINK you can leave your stuff in Abandoned Shack.About buying the Shack:Did you check up the shack right next to Armand Cristophe's Shack? It's for sale.
To buy the shack you have to go to Market District and speak to the woman in Office of Imperial Commerce. You will have an option to buy a house in town. You can have the shack for only 2,000 smile.gif

Thanks, I read about that 2000 gold house with another 700 for storage(?), but I haven't enough money yet, and I'd like some place to drop off my stuff before I go looting.

Thanks for the tip on who to talk to. I'll go see her when I have enough money.

Dude there are people in that shack but as long as you dont leave it in a container, youre safe.
Olav
Thanks, I didn't know that. Strange that items lying in the open are safe, while stuff in containers get stolen... huh.gif

Anyway I'm having enough for that 2000 gold house now, and will buy it the next time I'm there. Have a lot of books, keys, ingedients, potions etc. Messy to leave them in the open.

Cheers.

(btw strange I'm not receiving email notifications of this thread, even when it says 'You are currently receiving email notification of replies' below...)

Not stolen, the game reloads the container or something. The ones in your houses are fine.

BTW i forgot to say you will need more gold if you want to buy furniture. You can buy furniture at Three Brothers (Market District)
idk
A great place to live on the Waterfront would be the pirate ship. Step on. Step off. Let one of the pirates HIT YOU FIRST. Then attack them. If you go up to the dock area the guards will help you out. Just make sure you dont strike the pirates first or the guards will attack you. kvright.gif

After they get killed then the ship is yours. smile.gif

You can do so.but you will spoil yourself a DB quest. It's better when you're sneaking unnoticed than just rawly killing the captain (IMO)

Awwwe, you'll ruin one of the quests if you kill the pirates to live on the ship? I was really liking that idea.
