I am stuck on this damned quest! It tells me to go to the Dark Fissure and look out for "heavenly lights" I get there and there is the beam of light. The quest marker is green and is pointing to the altar but nothing is inside, nor do i see any indication of what i am supposed to do.

I believe you're supposed to wait until someone shows up and uses the altar.
