I'm sure im not the first person to come up with this idea, but there are thousands of posts here and to go through them all. I did do a quick search on druid, shaman and shapeshifitng ...but found nothing huh.gif

first thing ...is this even possible it doesnt seem too complex since you could use the animals already in the game but what do i know tongue.gif

Getting forms could be handled a number of ways ...a new skill (shapeshifting) and buy forms from a vendor? ...but i think it would be more fun to earn them from questing, maybe off of a dryad in the woods biggrin.gif

just a quick brainstorm let me know what you guys think biggrin.gif

I does think this is a great idea and you should try to make the mod biggrin.gif

This is a nice Idea. I think that you should earn new forms by soul-trapping the creature whos form you want, then go to a guy in the arcane university (who would be modded in of course) and for a fine, he can use up the soul gem to create a spell that lets you transorm into the animal that was in the soul gem.

thx xycolian, you're idea is awesome.
and combined with a few quests to unlock this feature, this mod would be seamless. i love creative writing and if anyone is interested in develpoing this mod, i would be glad to help with whatever i could smile.gif

I had the idea to do something like this. I had planned on making a new faction with complete quests and the such. If you are interested we could work together or anyone else for that matter. Just starting o get into the CS but already I can see it would be possible.

This would work except that Oblivion doesn't have creature-sensitive soul gems like Morrowind. All they are is "greater" or "petty," not things like "Timber Wolf" or "Brown Bear."

True but what I had in mind was to script out a scenario were you could use a calm creature spell then click on the bear like you would normally use something. Then a option would appear to learn and study the creature. And thats how you would earn the spells of the creatures.

well first you have to figure out if it is posible, to see if there is any point in going on

ive looked and looked, but i cant seem to find this one function

if i do then yes this is posible with the creatfullactorcopy function

what i am doing at the moment is makeing a necromancer upgrade, with bone armor ( bones spinning around your charactor, naturaly taking the attack from projectiles and melee) and things like raiseing skeletons with souls, even to make it so a message Box comes up qith strange words like "Ama, kazu, harum, colo" and you pick One of them, then another box comes up with different words ect, about 4-5 boxes, so you actualy have to learn and remember your spells and how to say them

the problem im having is with a scripted spell that makes a giant skeleton hand that comes from the ground and grabs the target, the problem is, i cannot find any sort of function that returns the ID of the target you cast a spell on, or a function that returns where a spell has landed, or hit, or a function that returns what you are looking at with your crosshair.

Also a function that lets you place a new referance into the game world (Durring gameplay of course) would be um.. dono what to say here...
either "Good" or "Expected" depends how you look at it

Also you cannot move static objects with script,
this, is horible

Please prove me wrong be posting solutions to any of these as they are esentials to my mods, and my mod team will creat and release some haymakers..
